I placed the smelting pot in the centre of the bed of coals and placed all the arrowheads in the smelting pot and I started to pump the bellows. The bed of coals soon heated the smelting pot and the contents started to sizzle and melt. After some time, all the arrowheads had been melted down and the contents were gurgling inside the smelting pot.

I took a tong and slowly lifted the smelting pot and poured the contents into 2 of the moulding set. All the 20 lines had been carefully filled and I replaced the empty smelting pot on the floor and then I meditated off and return to the real world.

The whole process didn't take more than an hour and when I came back, I still had time to change my gi and hakama into my yakata and slipped on the tatami mat.

Early morning tomorrow I would prepare breakfast and then head to the marketplace to look for a carpenter to make a stand for my Odachi and Kodachi. I think they should have fabricated mass produce stands so I could just buy one off their shelf.

I would then planned to go to the city's registrar and register myself as a resident of Kitakata so that I am able to open up a time deposit account or just a savings account or non at all. Maybe I could just buy my own piggy bank and deposit it at home instead. In that way, I would be able to account for myself how much I had spent and saved.

It was a perfect fit and I hope that this would be a growing trend. One hanger could be used to hang one hakama and one gi or kimono. I used about 6 hangers and intended to hang all of Hiko-sama clothes tomorrow.

At least one thing for sure is that the clothes would be in order now. I would then be using several poles to support the lines of the clothesline so that it would be taut and won't be affected by the weight of the laundry or else it would all be bunched up together.

At least, what I would be doing should improve our lives a bit. Next was the making of a manual washing machine. I need a bucket and a lid. I also need a frame to fit the bucket. Now I was thinking of using a cogwheel somewhere and a hand crank. There should be a differential gear or belt driven somewhere so in one crank, it would turn the tub several times.

I went to the kitchen and found the paper bag that was used to carry the fruits in the market and then I took a piece of charcoal and made a pointed end. Then I draw up a simple design in my head before I drew it on the paper.

This would need some help from the engineering department or so in the village and I wonder if they do exists. If not I have to head to the Blacksmith and get them to forge for me the things I need them. I don't have the engineering knowledge so I won't be able to use the Realm of Mind to help me out.

At least now the first project had been done. I looked at my messy drawing and found that all I need was a triangular frame or an "A" frame that would support the bucket, then a large crank like the bicycle, attached to a small cogwheel at the base of the bucket. The bucket would be tilted at a 45-degree angle.

At last, I scrapped the frame totally but used a kind of support just underneath the bucket instead. And it's semi-circle support for the top and bottom of the bucket. In between, it would be ball bearing rollers. I do hope that ball bearing exists in Kitakata village.

However, due to not having any engineering knowledge, I scrapped the whole paper and threw it in the kitchenette.

I flared up the stove burner and heated some water in the steamer and placed some bananas and sweet potatoes in them. I made sure I had the water filled near to the brim and stoke up enough wood and then I went back to my little room.

"Kid, why are you not sleeping? I heard you waking about and murmuring to yourself. What makes you unable to sleep?" I heard Hiko-sama talking to me and I went to the kitchenette to get the paper I had thrown and shown it to him.

"This is what that makes me hard to sleep. I intend to design a hand-cranked washing machine so that I could perform laundry in just 15 mins. Our clothes are not caked in mud or anything, so using this would save time and water."

Hiko-sama looked at the drawing and it looked like a weird little contraption and he scratched his forehead. I explain to him elaborately and he understood. He had never seen this before but he is sure he could get some people to actually design it.
