I held the sheathed Odachi and pulled the blade out. It came out smoothly and there was not a single restriction of movement nor friction at all. After that, I inserted the Odachi back in the sheath and it clicked when it reached the oval handguard.

"Did you chanced on anyone there?" I asked out of concern.

"It's still daylight, so basically the place is peaceful except for 1 or 2 scavengers looking for something more useful than these arrowheads. The moment they saw me, they went into hiding and reappeared when I left."

"Thank God, Sensei... You didn't meet any of those guys I had mentioned earlier."

"So what are you going to make this time?" asked Hiko-sama since he had brought small pieces of metal back.

"Nothing so complicated, Sensei. I would smelt these things down and make some metal hangars to hand the clothes instead of folding them anymore. So once I finish washing, I'd just hang them using the hangars after which when dry, I just bring them in and hang using a wall mounted hook that I will design later on."

"That sounds really practical. You going to make a few pieces then?"

I could forge them, knock out the impurities and then smelt them and pour them into the moulds. Once set, I could just bend it like a triangle with a hook on top to use it to hang at the clothesline as well as the wall hook I intend to design."

"That seemed to be a good deal. You want to wash up first before we head to the Blacksmith?"

"It's alright, Sensei... I just wash up my face and change my gi. We'd head out in 10 minutes, would that be alright for you to wait?"

"Ok, I trust you Samurai-San. Come Battousai-sama, let's enter to the back where the work is normally done." the Blacksmith gestured me into the back of the shop where the work was normally being performed and I saw a group of apprentice watching and eyeing me like a hawk when I entered.

"Here's the equipment here, please demonstrate to us how you forged the [Refined Iron]." he showed to the equipment before me.

I looked around and found a sizeable hammer. It belonged to the head blacksmith and I said, "I would like to use your hammer, could I borrow it for a while? And also, could someone work the bellows for me while I heat up these pig irons."

An apprentice worked the bellows and the coals became red hot. I threw in two pieces of pig iron into the coals and waited till it got red hit before I used a tong to pick the pig iron and placed it into the anvil.

I held the hammer and I channelled the heat of the furnace into my body and to the hammer that I held in my right hand. It was a 40-pound hammer and felt slightly heavy at first. Once I felt that the hammer becomes part of my arm, I raised it and brought the hammer down on the red hot pig iron.

Soon, sparks flew like magnificent fireworks as strike after strike hits the pig iron and the strikes helped to push the impurities out. The hammering was so coordinated that I do need to have a tong to hold any of the pieces that were on the anvil.

Each hammering was synchronised against the pig irons that once it became contact with the hammer, it jumped a bit from the anvil and before it settled down, I hammered it down.

10 strikes soon became 50 strikes and turned into 150 strikes until there were no more sparks coming out from the two pieces of iron that became one piece. I took a tong and picked the forged iron and threw it into the tub of water.

A loud sputtering and hissing sound came from it and then a cloud of steam rose from the bucket.

The Blacksmith and his apprentices looked at the way I handled the hammer against the anvil and was shocked. They never thought that I handled the hammer like a professional even at the age of 11.

"Mr Blacksmith, go ahead and evaluate the piece that I had made." I gestured as I stepped back and found a stool to sit down.

The Blacksmith picked the piece from the bucket and placed it in his hands. His eyes gleamed brightly when he saw what I had forged and he could not believe what he had seen. With just 2 pieces of pig iron, I could easily forge a [Refined Iron] that was of a level grade higher than the Odachi that he had held in his hands earlier.

"This is a higher grade [Refined Iron] than the Odachi. I have never seen such young talent that could make these pieces within an hour. Frankly, Battousai-sama, you are much more talented than I am. I could only be able to forge a [Refined Iron] of the lowest grade by chance. But your performance was way beyond I could have imagined."

"It is alright, Mr Blacksmith. It all depends on luck. I managed to forge this [Refined Iron] through your help of the apprentice. Frankly, it depends a lot on the weight of the hammer and the hammering process."

He took out a fairly large coin pouch and handed to Hiko-sama. "Here's the 200 good coins as promised. Can I keep this [Refined Iron] with me as a memento? By the way, have you tried to forge steel before by adding iron and coal at the right proportion?"

"I would love to try. Furthermore iron is the basics of making weapons and armour other than making low graded bronze for entry-level warriors and adventurers. Steel would be the next upgrade to iron and next would be diamond tipped weapons as well as armour."

"But to reach Diamond Level, the person would be at least a Forge Master and I am just a lowly graded Blacksmith. As I've said, it's by chance."

"Don't regard yourself as a lowly Blacksmith, Battousai-sama. As a warrior and as a Blacksmith, I am sure you would be able to g forge the best weapon and armour, right?"

"That's true, Mr Blacksmith. Thank you for the 200 gold coins. Would there be anything you need?"

"There is Battousai-sama, if you could forge [Refined Iron] pieces, we would like to purchase them from you. I was thinking of 5 gold coins per piece and you could bring them as many as you can."
