He Bai shuddered thinking about this, he soon dialed Di Qiuhe's number but it couldn't get through.

He Bai was getting more and more anxious, he hang up the phone and called Xing Shaofeng instead, Xing Shaofeng picked up the call promptly.

“Hello, Xing Shaofeng speaking.”

He Bai asked hastily, “Shaofeng, are you with Qiuhe now? Where are you guys?”

Xing Shaofeng was a bit confused and as well as shocked by how He Bai sounded, he replied, “We are now at a hotel near the venue for the award ceremony, Assistant An just accidentally spilled a drink on Qiuhe so now we are in a hotel waiting for Qiuhe's new outfit. What's going on? How's your cold?”

Assistant An? How come it happened to be Assistant An?

He Bai was more anxious, he quickly chimed in, “No, I'm fine, please go find Qiuhe for me, and ask Assistant An to not come near Qiuhe, not anywhere near him!”

Xing Shaofeng realized there must be something important going on, he looked at An Xixi who just went to send new outfits for Di Qiuhe and frowned slightly. He whispered something at the bodyguard's ear and walked in to Di Qiuhe's room.

Di Qiuhe, who was taking off his shirt put his clothes back on hearing the noise, he looked back and saw Xing Shaofeng, the he relaxed, “Hey Shaofeng, it's you, what's going on?”

“Director Jiang called, he says he'd like talk to you briefly.” Xing Shaofeng handed Di Qiuhe the phone, and he looked around the room carefully, then he saw the new outfits lying on the bed sent by Assistant An, he poked at the outfit and said, “Qiuhe, this jacket's color is too dark, probably not the best for tonight, we've still got time, I'll ask people to send another jacket. Feel free to go clean yourself in the bathroom, that is a big stain on your shirt.” with that he signaled Di Qiuhe to go to the bathroom.

'This jacket's color is too dark? What nonsense is Shaofeng talking about?'

Di Qiuhe was about to ask Xing Shaofeng what he was up to when he took a glimpse at the screen, it was He Bai's name on the screen instead of Director Jiang's. Di Qiuhe frowned and squinted, he said yeah and he had been meaning to clean that stain for a little while now and went to the bathroom.

“Puppy?” said Di Qiuhe in a low voice.

“Don't trust Assistant An!” answered He Bai hastily, he now finally felt relieved after hearing that familiar voice, “The day I went to the mountain I saw someone I think I know of, then I took a few snaps instinctively. Just now when I was organizing my album I found it was Assistant An who was in the photo, I'm sure she has seen me that day, but she took refuge behind a billboard instead of coming say hello, that's odd. Then I recalled grandpa said Qin Li had come back and Assistant An and her entire family used to work for Qin Li, I got so worried about you... ...”

“Don't worry, puppy, I'm fine.” Di Qiuhe comforted him in a gentle voice, “Have you had breakfast? Are you feeling better today? How's your headache?”

He Bai was more anxious seeing Di Qiuhe didn't take this conversation seriously, “I'm fine Qiuhe, now it's not time to care about that, you... ...”

“Don't worry about me, I'm safe and secure, I've got Xing Shaofeng and the bodyguards, Xing Shaofeng has helped me to keep an eye on Assistant An already. Puppy, there's no need to panic, I guess you are in our living room now, have you seen the new plush I've got you in the sofa? Isn't it cute?”

He Bai fell for that and he started to look for the new plush, he swept around the sofa and saw a puppy plush, his forehead unknitted subconsciously he sat right next to the plush and snuggled in the sofa, soon he felt better.

“Have you found the new plush?”

“Yeah, it's in my arms now.” He Bai patted the puppy plush and laughed, “Such a goofy plush, what's wrong with your aesthetic ability?”

“I have perfect aesthetic ability, look at who I'm going to spend the rest of my life with.” was the reply.

He Bai was choked, he smiled and recalled why he called Xing Shaofeng, “Why I couldn't reach you just now? Have you turned off your phone or something?”

Di Qiuhe frowned and came up with an excuse, “No, I put it on mute last night and forgot to turn it back this morning. Are you home alone? Is Auntie Xu home with you? I asked her to come to ours last night to cook you lunch.”

Auntie Xu was a servant of Fan Da's, she was related to the driver Xu Qing that Fan Da arranged for He Bai, therefore, she was a person that Fan Da and Di Qiuhe trusted a lot.

He Bai checked the shoe rack in the hallway, there was no woman's shoes there, “Yeah, I suppose Auntie Xu is not here yet.”

“That's okay, you can ask the bodyguards to drive you to grandpa's now, I'll go pick you up after I'm done with the ceremony.” suggested Di Qiuhe, then he continued, “I gotta check a few things with Shaofeng, don't hang up the phone before the bodyguards arrive at ours.”

“Yeah.” answered He Bai, he texted the bodyguards and said, “Qiuhe, you need to keep it in mind that keep a distance with Assistant An, if you have to contact her, you need to do that with someone else's presence, can you do that for me?”

“Don't worry, puppy, I hear you.”

Di Qiuhe walked out of the bathroom and asked Xing Shaofeng, “Any updates?”

Xing Shaofeng was just comparing notes with the bodyguards and replied, “There was a detectaphone monitor hidden in the outfit that Assistant An just sent you, and she just tried to leave saying she needs to send the dirty outfit to the dry cleaner, of course Zhou Li stopped her and he searched her handbag, she took your phone. Now Assistant Wang is with her.”

There came some sound from the other side of the phone, Di Qiuhe was told that it was the bodyguard knocking on the door and was ready to drive He Bai to Fan Da's, Di Qiuhe hang up the phone with satisfaction.

After thinking for a little while, Di Qiuhe said, “Come on, Shaofeng, let's go see what Assistant An is up to.”

Assistant An was now sitting on a chair with drooping shoulders in the living room, and Wang Boyi was staring at her with his fists clenched tightly.
