No Matter How Long Time Passes, I Still Love You Chapter 28: You Don't Believe me either, do you?

Chen Mu dived into the water to save Susu while Tian Yuo got Karen.

Susu was barely breathing when Chen Mu carried her out of the water, while Karen had spat out mouthfuls of water. Tian Yuo hugged Karen close to his body and repeated, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been so late. It's my fault. I won't leave you again."

Chen Mu shouted, "Quit those stupid talks! Call an ambulance!!!!" He adjusted Susu's position and performs CPR on her. When her body didn't respond, his eyes began to redden as fear crept up his spine and chills made his heart shiver at the thought of losing her.

Tian Yuo was still hugging Karen close to his chest, not calling for an ambulance. It was a bystander who called for an ambulance for them.

Fortunately, Susu coughed up some salted water and regained consciousness after Chen Mu's CPR attempts. Seeing her open her eyes to look at him again made tears fall from his eyes, "T..Thank god I saved you. Thank goodness...What would I do without you..?" His rasped voice was filled with anxiety as if the girl in his arms would forever be lost if he had been one second slower.

The ambulance arrived shortly and both Karen and Susu were sent to the hospital. Liang Yu Qing was on vacation with her friends, and her phone had no signal when the hospital tried to reach out to her. Therefore, the hospital contacted Yin Zin Leung instead. Shen Wen was also notified because Chen Mu knew that only she had the right to lecture Tian Yuo if anything gets out of hand.

The doctors gave the girls some basic checkups and determined that they only drank a few mouthfuls of salt water. They would be fine after some rest. Tian Yuo stayed with Karen while Chen Mu stayed by Susu's side.

Karen woke up before Susu did and quickly held Tian Yuo's hands, "Brother Yuo, I thought I'll never be able to see you again...I was so cold and scared. I.. I was so.. so.. scared.." She cried and trembled as she whimpered on the hospital bed.

"Shhh.. sh... it's alright. I'm here. I saved you. I won't let anyone hurt you ever again. Never, you hear me. I should have known that she was trying to play some tricks up her sleeves. This time, she actually wanted to kill you! If I wasn't there, you might have been..." Hearing her cries made him extremely furious.

He slammed the door to Susu's room open and startled her awake, "Yin Susu! You knew that Karen was afraid of oceans and watery places! You purposely lured her out and pulled her into the water with you! If you wanted to die, you should die alone! Why did you drag her down with you, huh?!"

Susu was too tired to even bother arguing back, "If you're done barking nonsense, then leave. I don't need to hear another word about Karen. Whether you choose to believe in her weak lily act and painful cries or you choose to believe that I harmed her on purpose, that is all on you. My life is more precious to me to spend it all in one go just to drag a bitch down the waters."

"What did you just say?!" He raised his hand, attempting to slap Susu across the face. She closed her eyes and ignored him because she knew that Chen Mu was right by her side. Chen Mu twisted Tian Yuo's arm to his back and put him in a headlock position.

"I was with Susu the whole afternoon! It was Karen who called her out to the dock and initiating the pulling! It was Karen who wanted to drag Susu into the waters and not the other way around! Just when the f*ck will you open up your damn eyes to see who is right and wrong?!" Chen Mu tightened his grip, making Tian Yuo bend his knees.

He bit his lips and continued shouting nonsense, "Murder!! You tried murdering Karen! You wench! You slut! You disgraceful hooligan!!!"

"Who are you calling a slut, a disgraceful hooligan, and a wench?!" A huge slap sound echoed in Susu's room, making Susu open her eyes instantly. It was Shen Wen. The strong slap landed on Tian Yuo's face, making him feel dizzy.

"M..Mother...and.. dad.." Susu called out to Shen Wen and Yin Zin Leung, who were standing outside her door.

"No need to say anything, Susu. Mother believes that you aren't the type of person to harm another person. You wont be stupid enough to do something like that and you also had the flu, so no reason to harm your health like that. Take care of yourself as I need to have a word with him." She twisted Tian Yuo's ears until it turned red and dragged him out of the room.

Meanwhile, Yin Zin Leung walked into the room and sat down by Susu's bedside, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine. I only drank some salted water and almost died from getting pulled into the ocean. Dad, do you believe me?" She smiled with lingering tears in her eyes that didn't dare escape. The words that Karen said at the dock mixed with some people's accusations against her, made her wonder if her dad would take her side this time.

"Susu, just focus on recovering for now." He avoided her question.

She sighed lowly and let out a few sniffles, "Dad, by avoiding the question, you already indirectly answered me. Even you think that I lured her out to the dock to drown her, didn't you?"

"Susu, don't be like this." Zin Leung reached out to wipe the tears that were falling down her pale face.

She slapped his hand away, "You chose to believe her because she drowned in front of everyone at a young age. But dad, have you ever asked me my side of the story? Even when I'm telling the truth about her calling me to the dock and trying to pull me into the waters? I was the one who almost died when she spat out some water and that was it!"

Her tears were like an opened floodgate, once she started, it never ends. She cried as she held onto her dad's sleeve, sometimes coughing in-between and sometimes holding her hand against her chest, "Just like the money that you thought I stole. Just like that time when Karen only had to say a few words and you immediately believed in her words! I'm also your daughter."

"This and that situation are two different things. You can't mix it together. That time, I wronged you and already apologized after finding out the truth."

The words that have been trapped deep inside her heart finally exploded out of her mouth, "Truth? What truth? The so-called truth was stepmother's way of covering up for Karen! Just like today's incident, you would choose to believe in her because it sounds and looks unfavorable on my side. But have you ever believed in me? Ever believed in this daughter that you raised?"

She bit her lips when she saw the hesitance in his eyes. Her fingers slowly let go of his sleeves as she cried and laughed hysterically, "Since you guys already judged by the covers. Fine. I did it. I purposely called her out of the blues and wanted to kill her. I was the vicious one who dragged her to the dock and wished to drown her. At the end, I ate my own karma and almost died! You hear me? Happy now? Leave. All of you leave. I don't want to see any of your faces."

Yin Zin Leung attempted to calm her down, "Susu, it's not that I don't believe you.. It's just..." Words couldn't find its way out of his mouth, so he ended up leaving the room while hearing her pitiful cries. Somewhere inside his heart, he believed that she didn't do it, but all the evidence pointed towards her.

Her face was flushed with anger, disappointment, and heartbreak. Chen Mu was the only one who stayed by her side after Yin Zin Leung left. This was the first time Chen Mu had seen her cry uncontrollably and scream so loud as if one could hear her heart shatter. Wrinkling his clothes, Susu cried in his embrace for a very long time.
