Zi Yan chuckled as she watched Kitty leave the hospital from the second floor. "Dad, you're as sly as always."

Professor Luo Xia responded with a smile, "She's only paying for what she's done. I only used fear to mislead her."

"Haha, we never kill our enemies. We only destroy their mentality and drive them to coo-coo land. Were you satisfied that your creepy smile convinced her about the slicing to sashimi crap? You knew that I was only an expert with arms." She sighed, but didn't feel a second of pity for Kitty and Karen.

"Well, if she chose the other decision, I would knock her out and just crack a few extra bones before sending her overseas to a third world country. I wasn't planning to kill her to begin with. She's only a chess piece, not the checkmate that I want."

He stomped his cane twice before turning around to meet Chen Mu, Chen Nan and Lin Que's suspicious stares. "Gentlemen, you've waited for your turns."

Chen Mu stepped up and said, "It was impressive how you two tricked her into believing that her life was on the line by rubbing itch powder on her arm and wounds. Not only that, you faked an injection to make her believe that it was a lethal drug causing that reaction. This way, she would obediently do as you instructed and come back for the so-called antidote."

Chen Nan nodded and clapped, "She was so easily fooled. Even though I've known and worked with you two for many years, this was the first time I had seen such sneaky moves. Your tricks never fail to broaden my eyes."

Zi Yan crossed her arms and turned around, "What are you guys here for? Pretty sure you guys didn't come all the way next door to compliment our methods in dealing with bitches."

Chen Nan's face became serious, "All compliments aside, then. Years ago, you had a similar situation where a lethal drug was injected into your arm by an enemy. Ariana helped you operate under your instructions. Can you tell us what happened and if the same application could be used on Susu's arm?"

She took a deep breath and frowned, "Do I look like the type of mother who would let her daughter die in front of her eyes and do nothing about it? The operation that was done on me is not suited for her current situation. I've already taken her pulse while she was unconscious. The drug is currently trapped in her right arm, but if I use the same method from years ago on her, it could be fatal."

" Is there a way to reduce the amount of drug in her arm to fix her hand? Even though she may not have strength to lift or move her arm in the future, at least she could still sketch." Chen Mu would never risk her life that way. Once he heard the word, fatal, he chose to back down from the thought of removing the drug entirely from her body.

"I have a way to save her fingers. It would take time for her fingers to recover and a lot of effort. At the end, it would depend on how well her body adapts to the surgery, but you guys must follow my orders and take care of her exactly the way I instruct you to."

"I'll do anything as long as her fingers have the chance of moving again." Chen Mu stared at her eye to eye with no signs hesitation.

"Oh? Then what if what I need from you are your precious fingers?" She walked over and grabbed his right hand. Her fingers brushed lightly against his fingertips as she smiled meaningfully.

"Then you can have them." Chen Mu said as he took out a new scalpel from the counter.

"Chen Mu! Are you crazy?! Without that hand, how are you going to research medicine for her and take care of her?!" Lin Que tried to snatch the scalpel from his hand, but Chen Mu avoided his grabbing motion.

"Then I will use my left hand. If my fingers could trade for her happiness, it will be worth it. I don't make false promises." Chen Mu handed the scalpel to her and closed his eyes with his hand flat against the counter.

"No! You think Susu will be happy if you give her your fingers?! You getting hurt is the last thing she would ever want to see! You idiot!!" Lin Que screamed as Chen Nan tried to grab the scalpel from Zi Yan.

She smiled as she walked closer to Chen Mu. His eyes were closed, but clearly nervous as she approached him. "You should hurry while I could still handle the pain."

"I don't need your fingers. Even if I did need some fingers, it would be chicken fingers with a biscuit on the side. Oh, don't forget the ranch." She wrapped her arms around him and gave him a tight hug.

"Huhh?" he opened his eyes and realized that the scalpel was thrown to the floor. She was hugging him tightly to the point where he was short of breath.

She released him and looked at him with reddened eyes, "Thank you for loving my daughter wholeheartedly. I didn't mean it when I asked you for your fingers. It was my test to see how much you valued her. As a doctor, you must treasure these pair of hands. Her operation doesn't require any transplants. I just have to prepare for it myself."

Professor Luo Xia nodded proudly, "You and your tests give my old heart a scare every damn time. Did you forget that this old man had an open heart surgery? Sheesh, what if he actually chopped those fingers off?"

"Heh, you are saying that now, but I'm pretty sure you were satisfied with his response. Since everything is considered settled, for now, my job here is almost done. Just waiting for the Cat to drag the Rat into the sticky trap."

She held onto her father as they walked passed the three doctors who were as still as a statue. "Ah, right. Your hands are used to save lives. No matter what happens, you should never give them up. I'm sure Susu would end up hating herself if you lost even a small piece of skin for her. So, take care of yourself, understand? Don't let my daughter worry."

Chen Nan mumbled, "That's if you would stop scaring our little hearts and throwing random tests like that. Almost made me jump you for that scalpel."

"What did you just say? Hoh~ Maybe I should tell your wife about that time when you saw that spider on the ceiling and thought that it was a roach and-" Zi Yan smirked as she blabbed out Chen Nan's secrets.

"My lord!!! Don't you guys have somewhere to be at? I mean uh rest? Like back at the hotel? It's getting late~ Oh! Or do you want food? What did you say you wanted? Chicken fingers with a biscuit on the side and ranch! Hahahaha, I'll go get it for you, right this moment!" Chen Nan escorted them back to Susu's room before hurrying out of the hospital.

Chen Mu and Lin Que stared at each other with their faces super close. That's when they realized that Lin Que was still hugging Chen Mu by the waist and Chen Mu was leaning over the counter. Lily walked out to rinse her knife and was looking at the group pictures that she just took with Ariana and Susu.

When she looked up, she lifted her camera app up and targeted the fabulous handsome men in front of her.

The guys saw from the corner of their eyes that she bent down on one knee and snapped a photo of them together. She gave a very naughty smile and giggled before walking back into Susu's room with her unwashed knife. After that, everyone else popped their heads out to peek and took more pictures.

At the end, Lin Que and Chen Mu didn't understand why they were still stuck together like two peanuts in one shell, but they did receive many spams in group chats with their pictures as the thumbnail.
