"What happened? Why would a group of mutant birds appear here?" Zhang Haojing was stunned. Only now did he realize that Jiang Liushi's warning was not baseless.

Underneath the mutant birds, Jiang Liushi's minibus and Zhang Hai's off-road vehicle seemed like easy targets. Naturally, Zhang Haojing felt happy that they were attracting the mutant birds' attention.

"Get ready to fight!" shouted Captain Guan. Although he didn't like Jiang Liushi, he couldn't leave him to the mutant birds' mercy.

After the soundwave attack, the mutant birds dove at the minibus. Their claws were extremely sharp and ordinary iron couldn't stop them at all. Coupled with the impact of their whistling sound, most people would lose their wits and ability to react.

However, Jiang Liushi and his team were not most people. At that moment, the minibus' engine let out a roaring sound.

"Ran Xiyu...a psychic paranormal..." Zhang Haojing struggled to say.

In his mind, Ran Xiyu had definitely formed a psychic domain, so none of her teammates had been affected by the mutant birds' attack. Consequently, that would enable them to rush back to the encampment. 

Suddenly, the minibus started emitting billowing black smoke from its exhaust fume, and a mechanical arm emerged, grabbing Zhang Hai's off-road vehicle and towing it behind the minibus!

Before the mutant birds could strike, Jiang Liushi's minibus dashed out of the open area like an arrow, dragging Zhang Hai's car at the same time.

"Let's go!" Jiang Liushi said while looking back to the encampment. Had they offered him a little help, he would not have made such a decision.

"What's going on?" Captain Gaun opened his eyes wide in astonishment.

Bai Jiayan was also perplexed. He had devised the perfect plan, but Jiang Liushi ruined it in the most unexpected way.

"Oh, my god! Are they crazy!?" shouted Zhang Haojing. Meanwhile, he thought it was a once-in-lifetime opportunity. If Jiang Liushi could lure all the mutant birds away, they would benefit greatly.

Although Jiang Liushi minibus had dashed at an extremely high speed, its engine let out another roaring sound, accelerating its speed yet again. Even Bai Jianyan's Roarer paled in comparison with the minibus' speed. Only an authentic Shockwave could contend against it.

'Boom!'

In a matter of seconds, the minibus had crossed a great distance. Zhang Haojing was struck dumb with astonishment, while Bai Jiayan thought that what he witnessing was beyond logic and above reason. How could it be possible?

In order to enable his Roarer to reach such speed, he had to install and launch a jet engine. However, the fuel consumption was so shocking that they had to expand the fuel tank by reducing the already limited space. As a result, only two people could board it at a time. There was no more room for others!

How could he not find it impossible that Jiang Liushi's minibus, which was practically a motor home, reach such a speed?

The mutant birds stared at the minibus angrily, and their sharp claws couldn't wait to rip it apart. Their speed was also mind-numbing. The mutant birds' shadows almost became blurry, and only black afterimages could be seen in the air.

"Amazing!" exclaimed Bai Jiayan. He had not expected that Jiang Liushi's minibus could be so powerful.

Jiang Liushi frowned after receiving Starseed's warning. And then, he ordered, "Raise the gunner room!"

Before the spectator's astonished eyes, a UFO-shaped room slowly appeared on the minibus. Jiang Liushi was inside, holding his AMR-2 sniper rifle and aiming at the sky.

'Bang!'

The sniper's muzzle released a tongue of fire and then a flying mutant bird was shot down! It cried in alarm as it was about to hit the ground, but before it could make a maneuver the rest of the mutant birds pounced at it! In the blink of an eye, only its bones were left.

At the same time, the minibus accelerated once again and disappeared from everyone's sight.

Captain Guan stood agape. He was clearly at a loss.

Everyone was astounded by Shi Ying Squad's performance and ability. Unfortunately, there was no medicine for regret. They had constantly been looking down on Jiang Liushi and undermining his minibus.

"That minibus...it's amazing!"

Captain Guan and Bai Jiayan looked toward the mutant birds' direction. They had already eaten clean the mutant bird that Jiang Liushi had shot down.

The mutant birds had now set their sights on the encampment. They were bloodthirsty vultures. The birds' eyes were bloodshot while their claws were dripping with blood. At that moment their huge wings covered the sky, and everyone felt a chill rushing down their spines. They all felt like preys that their natural predators had locked down. 

"Prepare to fight!" shouted Captain Guan.

Suddenly, a sharper cry than before pierced their ears. Although they were far from the birds, the soundwave was so strong that some people cried in pain while crying to cover their ears.

"Snap out of it and fight!" shouted Captain Guan. He was also in great pain, but they had to fight if they wanted to survive.

In the blink of an eye, a dozen black lightning-like figures appeared above the soldiers' heads, instantly diving at them!

Only when someone faced them themselves, could they know how horrifying they were.

Fortunately, the combatants were experienced and could still fight, even if they felt that their heads were about to break apart from the intense pain. They all aimed at the diving birds and opened fire.

However, it was useless as the mutant birds were flying too fast! Their bullets couldn't hit the birds at all.

In the mutant birds' eyes, the combatants on the ground were like weak hares. They instantly caught a few combatants between their claws, piercing their bodies directly. Warm blood was splashing everywhere, while the guns in the combatants' hands were falling from their hands one after the other.

The rushing Roarer was also hit by the terrifying mutant birds. Even its roof had been ripped apart. Under the mutant birds' sharp claws, the reinforced Roarer and the Panther Squad's vehicles seemed like they were made of paper. 

"What's wrong!?" shouted Captain Guan. He had never expected such an outcome.

"Withdraw! Withdraw!" ordered Captain Guan loudly.

The remaining people immediately rushed toward the building in the vicinity. Unsurprisingly, Bai Jianyan had to abandon the Roarer.

After rushing to the buildings, the mutant birds started attacking them instead. Almost all of the buildings' glass windows were shattered. 

"Wait for me! Wait…" Zhang Haojing shouted while shooting crazily.

As he was running, he stumbled on a severed limb and fell on the ground. When Zhang Haojing looked up and saw the hovering vultures, he lost all courage to keep running. After getting up, he suddenly felt a sharp pain from his legs. Meanwhile, his body was being lifted in the air.

 "NO! Don't!" Zhang Haojing grabbed the edge of the truck next to him with his hands, trying to struggle. He used all his strength but to no avail. All he achieved was to intensify his pain and make the sharp edge penetrate his body and protrude out of it.

"Aaaaaaaah!" Zhang Haojing screamed as he crashed on the ground. His complexion was pale as he tried to crawl under the truck.

"My legs! My legs!" He shouted crazily after looking at his lower abdomen. His legs had been torn off!

Jiang Liushi had been driving his minibus for a long time now. All the way to their current location, the zombies had no chance of attacking them. As for the ones standing in their path, they had been sent flying by the minibus. 

"Oh, my God! That was f*cking exciting!" Zhang Hai and Sun Kun shouted.

They had been protected all this time and felt as if they were part of a sci-fi movie. The wind had been whistling in their ear along the way. Even the steel bars they used for protection had been smashed. However, in contrast, Jiang Liushi's minibus was still intact. And that robotic arm was also strong enough. It had been pulling their car all the way without budging.

"Why would such mutant birds appear in the center of the city?" asked Li Yuxin. Although the minibus was powerful, Li X=Yuxin was still scared.

"It seems that the mutant birds were responsible for the two helicopters' crash," said Jiang Zhuying while blinking her eyes. "We should be thankful that iron is not in the mutant bird's diet. Otherwise, I doubt we'll ever find them."

Jiang Liushi nodded in agreement. 

When Jiang Liushi shot the mutant bird down, he was assured that it was not a special kind. However, he still had an ominous feeling. Could the threat to Starssed's existence be hiding amongst the birds?

Although the birds were terrible, Jiang Liushi could deal with them. As long as they could stay in his minibus, everything would be okay. However, Jiang Liushi was worried that this matter was not so simple.

"How about those people?" Ran Xiyu said while looking outside. Ran Xiyu was not worried or sympathized about them. After all, Jiang Liushi had warned them.

"No need to care about them. We should find the helicopters first," Jiang Liushi said.

Since Starseed had already felt the threat, Jiang Liushi's worry became stronger. The helicopters were in front, so Jiang Liushi decided to collect materials first. In the process of driving, Jiang Liushi repaired the damage of his minibus. He didn't expect the strength of those mutant birds could be so terrible.
