Book I: The President’s Million Dollar Bride_Chapter 5.2

Jiao Qi’s efficiency at work is very high. In less than an hour, all the documents have been reviewed and those that needed approval were all processed.

Little Fatty (Secretary Yu Yuan) twisted his flexible body to tidy things up and put them in his bag. “There is a meeting at two o’clock in the afternoon. I’ll drive over to pick you up by then. Also, need me to accompany you for lunch?”

None of Yu Yuan’s preceding sentences were heard by Zhang Chenfei except for the phrase ‘accompany you to eat lunch’ and suddenly, he looked at him coldly. ‘To seduce his lovely little wife in front of his face! Was this fatty not aware that his whole body looks like a pork belly?!’  

“No need.” Jiao Qi waved his hand and took Shi Fei’s documents from Su Su.

Su Su looked at the little fatty with adoration in her eyes. Daring to accompany President Jiao to eat lunch, he was really a god!

Little Fatty squeezed his eyes and winked at Su Su. He lifted his meaty chin that blended with his neck, and left with his head high and chest out.

“President, President Li has come.” Yesterday, President Li’s appointment was put off so he had come today instead.

“Oh! President Jiao is also here.” President Li smiled and greeted Jiao Qi. The secretary came in with the tea and withdrew right after gently closing the door.

“What are you doing here?” Zhang Chenfei saw this person enter the door and greeted his little wife first in a carefree manner.

“I heard that you wanted to buy Little Jasmine, so I have come to discuss it with you,” said President Li with a smile.

Little Jasmine is a game studio that has recently developed a smart brain game for girls which rose to popularity very quickly. However, this studio was so small that it could not undertake the subsequent expansion of its operations and therefore, it had to seek for external financing.

Shi Fei Technology took a fancy to the game but has no plans to invest in it. Rather, it simply wanted to buy the entire studio.

However, Shi Fei Technology is mainly engaged in athletic or sports type of games. While majority of the games under President Li Yingjun’s name, on the other hand, are designed for girls to play. Therefore, compared to Shi Fei, the latter is more suitable to merge with Little Jasmine.

“So?” Zhang Chenfei raised his eyebrows as he stared at President Li's annoying peach blossom eyes.

“Both sides are now bidding for it which is not good. That’s why I am here to discuss something with you regarding this. I ask you to give Little Jasmine to me. Afterwards, Shi Fei can invest in it and we can develop the game together.”

“Oh, Li Yingjun, do you think I don’t know what you are thinking?” Zhang Chenfei sneered. When he heard the words ‘give me’, the flames on top of his head automatically hit the roof. Don’t think that he didn’t know that this man only wanted to grab Little Jasmine on the surface. But in fact, he wanted to snatch his little wife from him.

“I was the first one who took a fancy on Little Jasmine and as such, it can only be mine. With such a small studio, Shi Fei does not need to do a collaborative development. If you want it, then you have to rely on your own ability!” There was not a bit of politeness in his words which is unbecoming of a person in the upper echelons of the business world. This clearly shows the principle of  ‘don’t rashly offend people‘.

For a moment, the air around the room froze.

“Ahaha, haha … all right.” Li Yingjun touched his nose awkwardly, got up and took his leave. He was shocked by such ruthless lines.

Jiao Qi glared at his lao gong (husband) who had just talked rubbish. He shot him another glance, got up and sent President Li off.

“He had eaten gunpowder today. Don’t take it to heart,” Jiao Qi apologized in embarrassment.

“It’s nothing. He always does business and won’t yield an inch. I was accustomed to it.” President Li is actually very magnanimous. He also laughingly invited Jiao Qi to visit his home on another day to play.

Returning to the president's office, Jiao Qi saw Dior Zhang sitting on the couch with his legs crossed. He didn't know when, but he suddenly had another glass of red wine in his hand.

Seeing him come in, Zhang Chenfei’s voice was cold as he sarcastically asked, “What’s wrong? Seeing your old lover made you feel reluctant?”

When Jiao Qi heard this, he gawked… What?!?

In the past, he and Zhangda Diao got acquainted through a blind date. Before he mutually got together with Zhang Chenfei, he also met with other people. Among them was Li Yingjun, who is also President Li. At that time, he did not have any romantic feelings for Li Yingjun and the latter also felt the same with him so they ended up with nothing definite. For so many years, Zhang Chenfei never cared about it. He never expected that at this time, he was reminded of this old scores.

Not waiting for him to open his mouth to explain, Zhang Chenfei suddenly pulled Jiao Qi into his bosom, and filled his mouth with red wine.

Jiao Qi smacked his lips to savor the taste which is pretty good. Soon afterwards, his lao gong once again gave him another drink.

“What a greedy little cat.” President-daren frivolously spoke the script from the book.

“Poof —” The red wine sprayed out and dyed the chest part of Jiao Qi’s white shirt.

“Ah, I forgot to give you two an invitation letter. Our company’s new product will be released the day after tomorrow …

… ” President Li walked back and returned to the office. He just arrived in time to see the president’s lovely little wife’s scene of “being abused” and could not help but dumbly stand still on the spot.
