It's funny how cold can fix and damage a throat.
But then came the annoying sunlight, making warmth burst through the cold. Yui looked up irritated. She was mostly a shut-in, and immensely detested sunlight. That was the reason why she only went to the beach at nights.
The sight Yui saw, was something out of her expectations. The sunlight only fell till the place she was standing on. Ahead, lay dark shadows, a strong smell of blood and dust. Between these two places stood a small log, with a ๑ carved on it. It acted just like a gate.
Curious, Yui examined the log. The carved mark was a spiral, nothing extraordinary. She rubbed her thumb on it, and with a 'whoosh' her whole body lifted.
"System rolls out mini mission 1-
Survive in the Blood Arena. Another reward will be given on completion. Tip: Rewards have to be used immediately after they're opened. In case of *Unknown*, time period of their existence is 2 days." The familiar voice rang out again, and Yui's eyes grew wide.
In the blink of an eye, she had landed on the other side. Her body jolted slightly, and she uttered "Are you kidding me?"
The other side, even with sunlight, seemed better to her. Compared to the rough, vast, and unknown land in front of her, she preferred the safe side. But she won't lie. The name caught her interest.
She turned around and approached the block. When she tried stepping through, something hit her, and she fell down with an 'ouch'. It was an invisible barrier. She pouted and rubbed her sore bottom.
"This is going to be a pain in the butt. No pun intended." She stretched and started on her way. For survival, it was obvious she needed food, water and shelter.
Especially when she was unaware what kind of monsters lurked around. The monster earlier gave her no idea about how powerful the others would be. She needed more experience to compare and gather information.
"Well, let's start this game of survival shall we?" A smile made her face light up. For a change, she was actually quite excited. Taking back a few steps, she broke into a sprint. With the help of its momentum, she hung on to a firm tree branch, twisted her whole body, and landed safely on it.
Letting out a sigh of relief, her azure eyes took in her surroundings. A few moments, she stepped down, slight worry on her face. She couldn't see anything, besides the black trees of the forest.
Yes, black trees. Their trunks were ash black, and leaves, a dull grey. Which definitely didn't make sense, according to science, but neither did reincarnation.
'If it's like this, I can only afford to take the risk and move straight. Somewhere, there has to be an escape.' Yui thought, biting her soft lip, cringing when a small amount of blood coated her tongue.
Licking her wound, she looked ahead.
"Is there any point? Any point in doing all this? If I'm meant to die on not completing any of these missions... Shouldn't I just end my life now?" She whispered slowly to herself.
She spotted a sharp rock on the ground, and picked it up. Her hands wrapped around it, as if used to feeling it. "Should I? This won't be my first cut." She mumbled. "It'll only take a few seconds."
Without hesitating anymore, she swung the rock towards her stomach, but it stopped just an inch before piercing her pale skin. Her hand trembled.
The clear signs of mirth showed up on her face.

"As if! I value my life, thank you. And you, sharp rock, can go to hell." She chortled a laugh. Aimlessly, she threw the rock high up in the air.
"It's getting dark, I should find shelter." She scratched her hair. Even in the dark sky, she could tell it was getting darker. The clouds were visibly getting darker, as if it was going to rain.
Yui walked on and on. She had no idea how much time it had been, but it seemed like hours to her. There was no sight of the sun, and the cold now made her body numb. She had been in search of a cave, or a huge tree to rest on.
All the trees seemed too thin, and too unsafe to sleep on for the night.
Just when Yui almost fell down from the cold, she heard the System speak again. "System alerts: Predator nearby. Player White is cautioned to move wisely."

"Am I a magnet bar or what? Why do I keep attracting these pests at the worst time possible?!" She groaned. She was just a normal girl! She couldn't bear to face all the monsters like the other wuxia female leads.
She simply wanted to escape real life.
And now that she had done so, she wished to live happily here. But of course, nothing comes without cost. And she'll be costed her life, or her virginity. Either way, she was cursed to have bad luck. She didn't favour death, or kids.
Her ears perked up on hearing a low growl. She could see the faint outlines of a bear like monster approaching her at a quick rate. "No! Slow down! I ain't got cookies! Or honey! I'm innocent..." She yelled while crying mentally.

She thought she was a goner, but then then spotted a cave! It was surrounded with fog, and a scent that tickled Yui's nose. Not wanting to he chased anymore, she quickly went inside the cave, peeking out to see if the bear could sight her.
With all that snow, he shouldn't be able to track her scent. She gave a sigh of relief when he went away after searching here and there for a minute.
She was about to cheer, but froze on hearing a couple of moans. "Wei Ling!" A girl's voice rang out, softly, enough to let many men desire her.
There was a thin, membrane like substance that was hung in between the cave. A lamp glowed dimly, and showed the shadow of a beautiful woman's body arching, seeming soft and luscious, especially as the man wrapped his hands around her.
"Xiao Xiao." The man muttered, rubbing his nose on her flawless back, moaning with each move.
Yui looked at the scene, flabbergasted, mouth agape.

'Hey, hey, hey, stop making my pure virgin eyes filthy! Why are you both bumping in a forest?!' She yelled mentally.
It wasn't as if they could hear her, so she just shook her head and prepared herself to leave. A 'growl' made her stop in her tracks. A lump appeared in her throat and the figures behind the membrane stopped as well.
Yui's eyes grew serious.
It so happened that the bear had found her.
