July 22nd, 1995

It's been three days since we discovered a hole under a cabin. We've been carefully excavating the area, and it's looking like an entire hidden chamber.

None of us had the balls to step in there. As deep as it is, I'm afraid of what we might find or if we can ever get back up again.

So for the past three days, it's rained. We've found more clues all over the campsite. Miles found an old doll in one of the cabins. It had strange markings all over it. We couldn't make sense of it, but Miles believed it was significant.

Ryan found a cassette tape in the cafeteria kitchen. We decided to listen to it and found out it was a recording of a conversation between two people. We could not hear what they were saying but the tone of the conversation sounded tense.

They're talking about something to do with sacrifices or a deal of some sort. They seemed to be arguing, so it was clear there was disagreement. The conversation ended abruptly.

Oscar found the same creepy symbol carved into one of the trees. Unfortunately, he got so startled he dropped his map into a puddle. Which means we only have three maps to get home.

As for me, I found an old dairy in the cabin. The dairy belonged to a girl named Mary in 1949. She wrote about her adventures and secrets when she was a camper at the camp, but when the new head director took over, she revealed how sad and miserable she felt.

Mary wrote about her struggles to fit in and being bullied by other campers. She also wrote about finding solace in the wilderness, spending time alone in nature.

On her last page, she wrote she wishes she could fit in but all her remaining pages were destroyed when the forest burned at that time.

It's just sad to think that someone felt so isolated in her world. She never shared her true thoughts and feelings with anyone. Just like me with my stepfather. I understand how she must have felt. No one should ever feel such loneliness and let someone take over your life.

It's hard.

Anyway, yesterday I found three empty beer bottles in Miles' tent. As a result, I confronted him and the others and everything turned downhill.

Miles exclaimed he was just having a good time and didn't do anything wrong. He also said I was overreacting and should have let it go.

But no I'm not willing to let it go. I explain that we've been running out of food and beverages, and Miles is being selfish for not sharing.

Likewise, Ryan defended me, saying Miles should stop being a dumb ass and take the project seriously. That's when Oscar defends Miles and says he can drink whatever he wants. This is because, for the past few days, it's been nothing but stress.

And before I knew it, the two started arguing. Ryan yelled at Oscar as he was a lonely gluten fuck who depends on everybody. Oscar shot back saying Ryan was a peasant and a hypocrite.

Oscar explained we'd been here in the camp for almost a week and found enough evidence to end the stupid project and go home. Oscar said he grew tired of living in the wild and wanted to return to civilization.

Ryan refused, convinced that success was just around the corner. The two of them kept arguing, each determined to prove their point.

Oscar and Ryan voted on whether or not to let me and Miles stay. My vote is for returning home, while Miles' is for staying.

In the end, the two reached a compromise and decided to spend at least two days together. Oscar, however, remained firm in his opinion that the project was a waste of time.

Despite what I mean, he's not wrong. I'm getting tired of Ryan's attitude and sleeping on rough grass. Not only that, but the campsite freaks me out. This evening, I swear I saw someone in the woods when I collected firewood.

I'm not sure what to make of it - maybe it was just my imagination. But I can't shake the feeling that something isn't right. I'm starting to get scared.
