I'll Become the Tyrant's Tutor Chapter 28

While the self proclaimed Earl and Prim were deep in conversation, her face always held a smile. Yet at this moment, the happiness he was seeing and the laughter in her eyes seemed to make his stomach twist in knots. The reason is probably because,1

‘She's talking to another man.'

The determined to put a stop to this, Reyn finally spoke,

“Earlier you mentioned that you are a Count?*”

(Note:On the hierarchy of noble titles and ranks an *Earl and Count are typically the same rank)

Count Bellaterou, who was talking to Prim, suddenly shuddered. It was because Reyn, for the first time tonight, was smiling ever so subtly.

“Y-yes, yes. That's right…”

The Count who saw Reynsis's eyes was starstruck,

'Ah~ The Prince is smiling!! In addition, the Prince actually spoke to him. The beautiful god!'

Everyone's eyes in the banquet hall focused on the  8th Prince. People who noticed began to drive their attention toward Reynsis.

“W-wait a minute!” (Prim)

Because of that, Prim was pushed back. The people around Reynsis wanted his attention.

“…….” (Prim)

Prim watched the scene blankly.

“He's really good at this, isn't he?”1

She thought to herself as she realized she was worried for nothing. Prim was already so far away from Reynsis.

With a light smile, Reynsis listens to the people around him. Just as Prim taught him.

‘Am I following him for no reason?' (Prim pondered some more).

'He is good by himself.'

Quietly before anyone noticed, Prim slipped out from the banquet hall. She really thought that her role as a teacher was already over.

‘Now, where do we go?'

Coming out of the Palace, Prim looked around twice. She didn't think that she could understand the greatness of the paintings that hung on the walls, nor was she interested in critiquing it the way other guests were doing.

“Then, let's go see the gardens.” (Prim)1

Prim made her way towards her new destination.

As soon as she arrived at the garden, the smell of fragrant flowers filled her nose. Like the Empire's beauty, the garden was also thoroughly managed well.  The light sounds of falling water could be heard from the fountains stationed around the hedges. As she descended down the marble deck of stairs, an even pathway was carved through the garden maze inviting her to explore further.

The flower lover spent quite a long time inside the garden maze until she forgot how much time had passed.

When she came to her senses, the sun was already setting.

She has been away for too long.

‘I'm sure he will say something after I went out for so long.'

Prim stood up from her seat patting her skirt, ready to go back.

“How beautiful the flowers are.” (???)

She heard someone's footsteps coming from behind.

As she turned her head, a black haired man with silver gray eyes stood in front of her.

It was her first time seeing him. But, something felt familiar with his presence.

‘This guy,… where have I seen him before?'

But no matter how much she thought she would never forget a handsome man like that.

‘Is this a supporting character that I've written?'

Prim, who nearly lost in thought, greeted the man half-heartedly.

“…Yes, the flowers really are pleasant. Greetings, my lord.”

The man walked up beside her with an awkward smile. Prim took a step back.

“This place is quite tranquil and  quiet, unlike the banquet hall.” (???)

“Yes, it sure is.” (Prim)

With the end of that remark, there was no further conversation.

It was time for Prim to get rid of the awkwardness she thought…

“You are the art teacher working under Prince Reynsis.” (???)

Prim cast her eyes at the man perplexed. The man smiled softly at how he knew this about her.

“Oh Lord. I didn't even introduce myself. I am Haddad Dominiel. I'm currently working as His Majesty's aide.”

He spoke again.

“It's the first time that the painter in charge of the Prince has not resigned for so long.” (Haddad)

Prim nodded proudly at his compliment of her.

“Of course, all the rumors that were going around the Empire regarding the Prince are just as they are; rumors and slander.” (Prim)

“Well, how do you know that?” (Haddad)

“What?” (Prim)

At Haddad's question, Prim looked at that man again.

Strangely, the silver grey eyes were staring at her persistently.

It was a penetrating look.

“He's not that kind of bad person. That is enough for the reason.”

“I see…”

Haddad nodded slowly.

“Then, if you'll excuse me.”

Prim was already displeased and turned around to leave.

But Haddad was particularly suspicious as he tried to block her.

As she was about to ask him to step back so she could pass,

“Prim!” (Reynsis)

She could hear the voice of someone in the distance who was laced with anger. Prim turned her head and blinked her eyes.

“….Your Highness?” (Prim)

His face was furious as he walked towards her direction.

***

《Reynsis's POV》

[A few hours before]

“Your Highness when are you coming back to the main Palace? Not only us, but also the elder ones, are worried about your safety and wonder what you've been up to.”

“That's right. There are still a lot of people who weren't able to make it to the party.”

“But if the Prince were to come again, the prophecy will also —”

“Marquis!”

“I am deeply sorry, Your Highness. Please forgive me.”

“……..”(Reynsis)

“Your Highness?”

‘I'm tired of this'

He ignored all the nobles present.

‘I've lost my mind after everyone's jabbering.'

There were those who blush when their eyes meet trying to catch his attention, and those who beg for the honor to paint his portraits.

He was tired of everything. Achromatic, colorless. A vision filled with gray, black, and white.

‘What have I done to deal with these sick people?'

Reynsis tried to recall why he was in this situation.

‘Prim.'

Yes. Everything is because of her.

‘I don't like Prim smiling at other people. I came out because I felt like I was going to burn my insides and curse out loud.'

‘Now, where is she.'

Reyn looked around. There was no red haired color in sight.

‘Ugh! What did I say before? Don't go anywhere and stay by my side, I already told you that!'

He couldn't stand this anymore.

(Note: **This chapter was brought to you by Ryuusm on Wattpad.  If you are reading this elsewhere it was stolen.**)

Reyn clenched his teeth and moved away from the herd of nobles that surrounded him. The eyes of the people around him almost pleading with him not to leave.

“Where are you going, Your Highness?”

“You don't have to know.” (Reynsis)

“…Prince.”

The nice prince, who spoke in a gentle manner disappeared, and was replaced by the grumpy prince, who built a thick wall and ignored everyone.

People's faces were embarrassed, but Reyn left right away.

He felt like laughing after seeing their faces.

His stomach was burning. The familiar pain caused his eyes to drop and his vision was shaking.

[ Sting! ]

The pain he initially grew accustomed to irritated and encouraged his crooked thoughts even further.

‘You taught me everything. I did what you taught me, but why did you go somewhere else? What the hell?!'

Reyn went out looking for her and spotted red. She was in the nearest garden.

“Prim!” (Reynsis)

Prim turned around with a confused look on her face.

“….Your Highness?” (Prim)

'Eh? What about the aristocrats who were with him and the Emperor? He came all the way out here?'

Unlike the surprised Prim, Haddad seemed oddly relaxed.

Taking long strides to close the distance to them, Reyn was staring at Haddad as if he was going to kill him; suddenly he reached his hand out towards Prim intending to grab her wrist…

“…….!”

However, he hesitated. It was because he realized his behavior will be no different from Dahps.

Instead Reyn offered her his open hand.

“…. Let's leave for a moment.”

Reyn said, while suppressing his anger.

Haddad looked at the two with a strange face, before bowing gracefully first to Prim,

“It seems I've kept the  Lady here too long. I do hope to see you again, someday.”

Then he bowed courteously to the Prince before leaving the company by themselves.

“What— …(grumbling)…you…”

When he was sure that only the two of them were left, Reyn balled his fist and snapped sharply like thorns on the rose.

“Me?”

Prim asked back, pointing at herself with confusion.

“Why are you here? I told you to stay next to me.” (Reynsis)

“…I was there, but I was pushed out. There were so many people around you.” (Prim)

“You should have stayed.” (Reynsis)

“Even if I get kicked out?” (Prim)

Prim pouted her lips and gripped her fingers on the folds of her skirts as if this was unfair.

Silence fell over them momentarily, until Prim decided they needed to change topics.

She lifted up her skirt to keep it from touching the ground as she walked towards the flowers blooming nearby. When she turned around her white pale calves were revealed, Reyn felt agitated.

“Did you see this?!”

Prim exclaimed furiously.

His face burned bright red and he shifted his steps quickly toward the blooming gray flowers. Prim chased after him with all her might.

“How was it, at the party?” (Prim)

“What a party?” (Reynsis)

It was a blunt but more stern voice than before.

“Did you do your introductions and make conversation like how I taught you?” (Prim)

“Yes.”

Reyn nodded reluctantly. Prim, who was the only reason for his gentleness, wasn't there.

‘That's a relief.'

Prim's face was full with joy. Reyn glanced at her. He stopped his steps and murmured,

“…But I couldn't find her.” (Reynsis)

“Find who?”

Reyn turned to Prim.

A wind blew gently and scattered her red, shining hair. Reyn slowly sweetened his lips.

“The Beauty you always say.” (Reynsis)

“……..” (Prim)

“I couldn't find her.” (Reynsis)

Prim's cheerfulness stopped at his words. The corners of her mouth which had always been up, fell down.

It was something he couldn't get used to.

Her smiling face turned into a frown. Reyn felt his heart sink.

He thought it would be pleasant to say this, however, seeing her reaction had the opposite effect. 'See Prim, You were wrong… there is no such thing as fate.'

And he even tried to lie so she could stick next to him.

But her expression…. was unexpected.

‘Do I have to comfort her?'

'But then what do I have to say? Will I find my fate? I should try harder next time?'

It was when Reynsis was about to to find the right words of comfort, he heard something unexpected,

“It's alright.”

Prim shook her head and grinned as if the disappointment he saw earlier was a lie.

“You can find it, your fated person. I will find her for you.”

“……”

Reynsis was speechless like a man who had lost his own language.

Prim regained her smile, but his heart darkened.1

'What is my fate? Who the hell is my fated person?'

'If I find her, will my world really change? This disgusting world would openly welcome me?'

‘I just need you….'1

The words disappeared before he could voice them as he didn't want to blurt it out. Reyn clenched his fist.

A blue vein appeared on the back of his pale hand. Reyn reached out and plucked a batch of gray flowers. It was an unknown breed of flowers to him.

He handed a few of them to Prim.

“Huh?”

Prim who was confused for a moment, looked at the flowers and flashed a small smile. She accepted the flowers that he gave her.

“Good job. You can do this again next time.” (Prim)

'Next time?'

Reyn's face slowly twisted.

“I'm sure others will like it, too. Wouldn't it be better if you put some kind sincerity or heartfelt words at the end?” (Prim)

“…….” (Reynsis)

There was not one moment in Reynsis' life where he felt as ridiculous as he did now.

'I wanted to laugh at her and yet it was not possible. She wasn't even phased by my gestures to comfort her… does she have a heart made of stone in her chest?'

*(e/n:… this shameless editor thinks she's got oblivious-female-lead syndrome.)

“Your Highness?”

Prim tilted his head and glanced at Reyn who had gone quiet. She watched as his face changed expressions from tired, to grinning, then to serious, but now he just looked angry.

“I gave it to you.”

Reyn said while suppressing his frustration.

“Yes?” (Prim)

Reyn sighed, “…This is not a practice.”

“Then…” (Prim)

“I gave it to you! Idiot!”

Reyn finally snapped. It was Prim who was embarrassed by his hardened face, which seemed to be unpleasant.

“Y-Your Highness?”

Prim called for Reyn, but he turned and strode away and didn't answer her.

“Your Highness, wait a minute!” (Prim)

Prim quickly chased after Reynsis. ‘How is he walking that fast?'

He didn't stop even though he must have heard her voice. Because she was so focused on keeping up with Reynsis, Prim accidentally dropped the flower.

“Ah..!”

'Hmm… I wonder what kind of flower this is?', Prim pondered while quickly picking up the flowers.

“Huh?”

And when she looked ahead again, Reyn was gone. He went into the palace and left her alone.

Prim had to stand in the garden.

“What's his problem?”

Prim sigh softly.

She thought everything was going well. People weren't afraid of Reyn anymore and he was very kind, and respectful as she taught him to be.

But why…

‘No. Let's not give up!'

Prim convinced herself not to think negatively and get a grip of herself.

'Go to His Highness. Ask him why he is angry. What did I do wrong, and… like always, we have to face each other and talk.'

Prim listed out her plans, helped reinvigorated herself and started to search for Reynsis.+

[ Kyaaa! ]

…That was until she heard someone screamed at a distance.
