I'll Become the Tyrant's Tutor Chapter 20

Prim thought that his pain was severe because she couldn't read his mind.

She began counting the days after she got here with her fingers.

He was a bit panicked when he saw her like that and without realizing, he blurted out every nonsense that was on his mind.

(Reyn) “Practice.”1

“….Pardon?”

(Reyn) “Maybe my eyes hurt because of the practice.”

Prim's eyes turned to him.

(Reyn) “It is also like this when I saw red for the first time.”

He kept on talking with excuses as he stared at her eyes.

(Reyn) “You also said that I have to find her, my fated partner.”

“…..”

“So it means that you are helping me well enough. It's just a light pain but after that it got better so….”

Reynsis lengthen his word as he had no idea what to reason out.

(Reyn) “…. You don't need to cut the practice. Go on, it's okay even if I am sick.”

He watched her fingers that are counting days with a nervous look. Prim stopped after hearing him.1

“Are you sure?”

Then, her face reddened a bit. Ha, it feels like he was successful in getting rid of the anxiety off from her chest.

Prim felt a little happy. She thought that if she reincarnated in this world, the story development would change.

“Then, we should continue with our class.”

Prim said then sit in a straight posture.

“…. Really?”

Reynsis asked again as if to confirm her word.

Is he being a little open minded nowadays? Prim just nodded.

“Yes.”

Reynsis was staring at her face as he murmured.

“.. You continued it.”

(t/n, bij ain't that the cutest?)3

Prim nodded vigorously and began to talk endlessly, saying that the classes were effective in reverse.

A small smile formed on his lips.

‘Have I ever made a pledge for someone to stay? I might sound crazy but with her, I think I will be seeing colours someday.'1

It would be something similar to the color of the spring's flower he saw that day or the color of the flowers that she brought.

The reflection through his window pictured them as the warm wind stroked the blue flower by the window.

***

The sun is too strong today. Prim frowned and covered her face with her hands. There are new flowers arriving today, so she is just looking around.

‘Who is that?'

As she was about to enter the palace, she saw a familiar back. she felt like the person was waiting for someone.

But she felt used to the person's orange hair.

She crept slowly at the person and called the name carefully.

“Lise?”

“AHH!”

Lise jumped as if she was struck by lightning.

“P-prim?”

“What are you doing here, and what is that?”

“Nothing!”

Lise crumpled what she was holding into her apron. But Prim was way faster than her.

“Lise, how could you bring that here?”

Prim voiced out as if she was startled with the things.

What Lise brought was a ‘red rose'. The flower was banned in the Empire by the Emperor who thought the red roses were the source of the curse.

There is no way that Lise didn't know about that. She wriggled her fingers as if she was a guilty child.

“It's a…”

Lise avoided from answering her and lengthened her words.

Prim squinted her eyes. It was her habit when she felt something was wrong.

Her cheeks were red, she waited here as if she was waiting for someone, and the red rose.

The information was sorted out in her head.

Prim nodded as if she knew something.

“Gosh! You brought this rose to confess?”

“Hiks!”

Lise, who was stabbed by the truth, barely said anything.

“H-how did you know.”

“Now who was it? Lieson?”

“Ho-how?”

Lise was admiring Prim but she suddenly stopped. It was because she saw Prim's eyes shining with other lights while her eyes were as black as the dark forest.

(note: elena saw this too, they saw another light in her eyes but prim's eyes are black.)

“Prim, just now…”

She took a step forward to see it clearly.

But at that time, the wind blew hard, which made the two close their eyes momentarily.

Lise, who had her hair fluttering quickly arranged it then she looked at Prim again. But her eyes were dark black as usual.

“…..Did i see it wrong?”

She murmured quietly. Prim glanced at her then looked back at the rose inside her pocket.

“That's the reason you brought the rose? To confess?”

“….. Prim can make money with this.”

Lise  was caught red handed as her cheeks reddened. The color of Prim's eyes that she saw has faded from her memory.

“Keep it low just in case anyone sees this.”

“I won't let that happen. Please keep this a secret, okay?”

Prim looked at Lise with a sullen face. As if to act cute, Lise blinked her eyes and held the rose in Prim's hand.

“I'll give you one instead, I worked really hard just to get this.”

“No thanks. I don't need it. We all know it's banned in the Empire, but how did you get it?”

“I'll tell you. There are people who raise this flower. You just don't need to be caught. Come on.”

“People who raise this?”

“Yes. The roses mean ‘I like you so much that I'll come across the curse and save the roses.' I know all the people in the Empire these days.”

Gosh, Prim sigh in vain.

Of course the red roses are not at fault with the curse but it has already been banned in Delen Zion.

Prim handed Lise's rose.

“I don't want it. But, why does the scent smell peculiar, it's like dark.”

Prim grumbled and shook her hands. Lise, who hid the rose, slowly noticed Prim.

“I won't let you get caught, right? The prince won't even know what color it is anyway. “

“……”

No. he can see it. Red rose.

Prim swallowed her saliva.

Receiving the silence, Lise grabbed Prim's hand.

“Prim. You have to keep this a secret, okay.”

Lise, quickly left her then waved his hands.

Prim sighed as she looked at the woman who had disappeared without a moment to catch her.

She didn't know the red rose changed its meaning. The roses that brought tragedy to Reynsis were being used as a way of delivering love to others.

Prim headed to Reynsis's room with a heavy heart.

As usual, he was reading again.

“Greetings, Your Highness.”

Prim broke up the silence and said her greeting in a bright voice. The Reynsis looked at Prim for a while and again turned to the book as Prim sat in front of him.

“How have you been? The weather is good today.”

Prim chat with him as usual. Reynsis, who was listening to her voice, stopped flipping the pages.

She sounds strangely weak. Reynsis looked up to her.

It was the same face as usual, but there is something different.  Hee mouth was raised, but her eyes were stiff. It meant that she was forcibly smiling.

Reynsis closed the book. Prim, who was talking, looked at him in surprise.

“What's going on?”

“Pardon?”

“What happened?”

“….. Nothing happened.”

“……”

“It's true.”

“You are different from usual.”

“Really? How could you tell.”

“…..”

Reynsis shut up to her sudden question. He couldn't tell her. To tell her how different it was, it is because he had been watching her all along.1

Reynsis was trying not to groan as he stared at Prim. He narrowed down the middle of his forehead.

She said it's nothing but obviously something happened to her.

What happened? He felt worried and anxious about it. Suddenly, a familiar fragrance brushed through the tip of Reynsis's nose.

“… Rose.”

“What?”

“.. I smelled roses.”

Her heart felt as if it were sinking. Prim gulped down his saliva. She thought the scent was strong, but she didn't know Reynsis could sense it.

“Rose? I'm not sure about that.”

“……”

“That's right. It's very windy outside. Maybe the scent of roses came from afar. Ha ha.”

Prim felt hesitated with the situation.

“And have you ever seen roses?”

“…..”

Reynsis was silent. Oh no, she just wanted to ask what he needed and offer an apology because she made him worried. Reynsis opened his mouth slowly.

“… It was a flower that made my life like this. Daphs once stuffed the flower in my mouth.”

(t/n, daphs is the biggest a*shole)2

“…..”

“I was forced to smell the rose until I was about to faint. It's weird not to know the scent.”

Prim's smiley face became dull.

“I'm curious. It's been a while since I saw red roses, how the flower would look.”

Reynsis smiles faintly.

“Now that the red roses spread among people, the curse might become stronger.”

“……”

“I don't know if that means that I am really going to kill everyone.”

Reynsis's voice did not contain any emotion. There was no sadness.

Reynsis glanced outside the window. The grey sky seems darker than usual. It is the sign that it will rain soon.

No matter how much he read and read, he couldn't understand the feelings.

He realized again that he had no choice but to nod his head with every word she said.

What color is this world? Reynsis couldn't get anything right for the first time.

It was when Reynsis was about to talk.

(Reynsis) “You..”

“……”

(Reynsis) “Did you cry?”

Her eyes were full of tears. There was embarrassment in Reynsis's voice.

Prim bit his lips without a word. That's why Reynsis built the wall around people. He was not trying to protect himself, but to protect others.

‘A tragic childhood.'

She didn't know that anything that she wrote as the author could result in this.

She didn't deserve to cry, but her tears flowed naturally.

“No. I'm not crying.”

Prim shook her head and wiped her eyes roughly with the back of her hand. The eyes and her cheeks began to turn red.

Reynsis was embarrassed. He just moved his mouth without realizing it. He didn't mean to make her cry. No. If he had known that this would make her sad,  he wouldn't have even brought this up.1

Reynsis reached out his hands without him realizing.

‘I wanted to sweep the red-tinted eyes with my hands and comfort her not to cry.'
