I Became The Childhood Friend of the Obsessive Second Male Lead Chapter 188

Without knowing it, Rieta quickly lowered her head.

What to do? She suddenly averted her gaze, would he think it was strange?

“Lord.”

“Yes?”

“Are you going to make your maid wait at the entrance?”

“I want us to go in together. Do I need to follow a procedure?”

She felt the gaze again.

Rieta tried to pretend to look as naive as possible, but her heart was already beating like crazy.

“Excuse me, but I must verify the identity of all employees. Apologies. I've been checking everything closely because there's been a lot of travel lately.”

What was she supposed to do? She must have appeared suspicious.

Rieta wanted to stomp her feet, but she couldn't.

However, Darrel looked back at Rieta with a calm expression as if he was not at all anxious.

“Theia.”

“Yes, Young Master.”

She was worried. What if the trembling of my heart is revealed in my voice?

Fortunately, she was able to do it quite smoothly because she practiced it several times.

“Show them.”

“Yes.”

Rieta had left the paper package with a soldier who approached nearby, and held out the identity document she had prepared in her arms.

The person in charge seemed to keep looking at Rieta's face while receiving the documents.

She didn't know why he kept looking at her. Did she look so suspicious?

“Um . . . Miss Theia?”

“Yes.”

He looked as if something was on his mind.

Maybe he knew Rieta's face?

“I want to tell you something.”

Gulp.

What was he trying to talk about?

Rieta was very nervous and nodded her head gently.

“Yes,” she replies in a low voice.

“The academy is very spacious. Follow the Lord carefully so as not to get lost.”

“. . .  What?”

“On rainy days, there are many people who lose their way.”

“Ah.”

“In that case, ask anyone nearby for help. No one will say anything.”

Rieta now realized why he kept looking at her.

It seemed that the employees who did not know the academy well were afraid when they lost their way, unable to ask for help.

“No, mere words are useless. May I bring you a map?”

He got up from his seat and began to approach Rieta with a map prepared for external use.

He seemed overly friendly . . .

“No it's okay.”

Fortunately, Darrel blocked Rieta's way.

“Theia just has to follow me.”

“Well, yes, but—”

“Can I go in now?”

Darrel was answered with the entrance secretary opening the office door.

“Yes, of course. Lord.”

The door he opened was on the opposite side from where the one the two of them had entered.

It seemed that passing through that door would lead directly to the inside of the Academy.

Rieta took the envelope with the paper again and followed Darrel.

Was it because the encounter she was most worried about was over?

Now, rather than worry about being caught, she was curious about this new place.

After passing through a slightly dim hallway, there was a large door at the end.

Of course, there were armed soldiers in front of them, all bowing politely to Darrel.

And beyond them . . .

The real face of the academy appeared.

She opened the umbrella and took a few steps forward, and soon found a large square connected to the hallway.

There were, of course, large fountains and statues.

It was very beautiful because there were trees and flowers arranged in a certain way.

Perhaps it was thanks to the freshness brought by the spring rain.

There were many buildings of different shapes.

“It is said that they are all different because they were built at different times and have different uses. Above all, if the exteriors of the buildings are the same, more and more freshmen will be lost.”

Next to Rieta, Darrel whispered quietly and gave an explanation.

After listening to his story, the students with umbrellas caught her eye.

They were all wearing the same clothing. She had heard that it was the clothes designed for the students at the Academy.

“It's a nostalgic outfit.”

As Darrel told the story admiringly, Rieta laughed a little.

“But Darrel, on the day of graduating from the Academy, you said, 'I never want to wear it again.'”

“Well, that's also true. But it's nice to see other people wearing it. It feels like something fresh, doesn't it?”

Rieta thought that Darrel sounded like an old man for some reason, but she did not dare to argue while under disguise.

There were even people passing by around them.

“You have to be careful. Young Master.”

“I know.”

Darrel smiled a bit awkwardly, wondering if the papers were difficult for Rieta to carry.

“Well, shall we return the cumbersome paper first?”

“I hope so.”

“Is it heavy?”

Concerned, he glanced at the envelope Rieta was holding.

She had to hold an umbrella with one hand and the envelope with the other, so it would be quite burdensome.

“It's okay.”

“I wish I could hold it.”

“No. If the Young Master holds it, there would be no reason for me to follow you this far.”
