Granting You a Second Life 58 Storming Off

Li Xiuying was strolling through the hospital foyer. She was wearing a navy long sleeved silk blouse with a pair of wide legged white and navy stripped trousers. She wore a pair of burnt orange chunky heels and carried her briefcase.

Li Xiuying had dark circles and large bags underneath her eyes, she tried to conceal them with makeup but they were still visible. She had been up late last night plotting the demise of the Soulless. The first task she had to complete in order for her revenge to come into fruition was to buy makeup and wigs; which she was planning to do after work.

Li Xiuying reached her office and turned the handle; the door didn't budge. She took out her key and opened the door. She wandered where Jiang Huan was this morning.

Li Xiuying went in and sat behind her desk. She put her brief case on her desk and turned on her computer. Li Xiuying pulled up her schedule; she would be in theater 3 for her general surgery list. E would also be with her for the list.

Li Xiuying was looking at her schedule to see whether there were any other doctors shadowing her this week; when there was a knock at the office door.

Li Xiuying: "Yes?"

The door opened and Li Xiuying frowned at the person who stood in the door way. It was Qin Song.

Qin Song: "Dr. Li may I have a moment of your time?"

Li Xiuying: "My work hours begin at..."

Qin Song: "I realise you haven't started work yet, I just need a moment of your time."

Li Xiuying just stared at Qin Song.

Qin Song entered the office, closed the door behind him and sat in the chair opposite Li Xiuying desk.

Qin Song cleared his throat and spoke: "Dr. Li I would like to talk about the discussion that we had last Saturday. The comments made were not the most appropriate."

Li Xiuying frowned.

Was this meant to be an apology?

Li Xiuying: "Apology?"

Qin Song: "Yes, I already apologized."

Li Xiuying: "When?"

Qin Song: "With my statement just then."

Li Xiuying frown deepened: "Finished talking?"

Qin Song felt Li Xiuying becoming annoyed, but she wants the only one who was annoyed. He was also irritated with her for leaving with Xǔ Junjie when he had asked to speak with her yesterday.

He thought to himself; as her boss I should be her priority and given the respect and time I deserve.

Qin Song: "Dr. Li, I think you may have misconstrued the meaning behind my words on Saturday."

Li Xiuying looked at the watch on her wrist ... it was only 8:39.

Li Xiuying looked at Qin Song: "Leave."

Qin Song spoke in a cold voice: "Dr. Li there is no need to lose all remnants of cordiality. I'm just trying to explain the error behind your thinking. I went to the doctor because I was having symptoms of an allergic reaction. The symptoms occurred twice and all the episodes occurred when I was in your vicinity. Hence, Dr. Kong concluded it must be the perfume or body mist or whatever it is you wear to be the trigger. I admit I may not have quite phrased it in the correct way when speaking to you on Saturday. I hope now that I have fully explained the situation you will be considerate enough to stop wearing said perfume."

Li Xiuying looked at Qin Song as if he was an idiot.

Li Xiuying thought to herself: How could this man sitting in front of her be the heir to one of the biggest conglomerates in the country? Did he receive some sort of trauma to his brain recently that has affected his cognitive functioning? Also, who is this enabler Dr. Kong? How could he suggest that Qin Song was having an allergic reaction and even prescribe antihistamines?

If Dr. Kong could hear Li Xiuying's thoughts now; he would surely cry tears of frustration.

Li Xiuying stood up slowly; she shut down her computer and picked up her briefcase. She walked around her desk and to her office door.

Li Xiuying opened her office door and spoke expressionlessly; "Leave now, my working hours are from 9 to 2. Only talk to me during this time. Additionally in the future don't talk to me unless it's work related."

Qin Song rose from his chair and walked towards Li Xiuying, he stood directly in front of her: " Dr Li I wanted to have an amicable discussion, your current behavior is completely..."

Li Xiuying glared at Qin Song with an expression that said "I dare you to finish that sentence."

Qin Song just stood staring into Li Xiuying's eyes that were currently filled with annoyance.

Li Xiuying realized that Qin Song had no intention of leaving. She broke eye contact and left the office. She closed the door behind her and locked it. She then proceeded towards the theaters with a small smile of gratification on her face.

Qin Song looked incredulously at the locked door in front of him.

How could she lock me in her office and leave?

Qin Song sat on the edge of Li Xiuying's desk. His long legs stretched out before him. He pulled out his phone and called Jiang Huan.

As the phone rang he quietly thought to himself; why do my conversations with Li Xiuying always end in her storming off?
