Qin Song: "Come in."

Wu Xing entered the room followed by 3 men: "Mr Shen Mengyao, Shen Qui and the chief of police Yeung Hai are here to see you."

Qin Song stood up and walked over to shake their hands: "Please take a seat."

Wu Xing: "I will have the refreshments sent in."

Everyone sat down. 

Moments later the secretary wheeled in a tray of tea and snacks. Her gaze lingered on both Qin Song and Shen Qiu a little longer than it should. 

Shen Qiu took his cup and elegantly took a sip. 

Wu Xing said sternly: "Sung Liqui."

Sung Liqui withdrew her gaze, gently brushed her hair behind her shoulder and then pushed the trolley out. 

Wu Xing closed the door.

Shen Qui: "Attracting the bees and butterflies."

Qin Song smirked: "I think you're referring to yourself."

Shen Qui laughed.

Shen Mengyao: "If you both have finished complimenting each other, perhaps we can get on with the business at hand."

Yeung Hai: "The story has caused quite a storm especially after a doctor from your hospital stepped forward to make a statement. Was that something you arranged? As far as I know, she is not one of Yang Zian's previous victims."

Qin Song smiled into his cup: "No, it was not something that was prearranged."

Yeung Hai: "You should give her a bonus! She's greatly helped out our cause. Some of my subordinates have said that a few of Yang Zian's previous colleagues have called and complained about Yang Zian trying to force them to accept bribes. I have not given a formal statement yet but I think holding a press conference would be the best course of action." 

Qin Song: "Arrange the press conference for tomorrow, the anticipation is what people feed off of."

Shen Qui: "What's happening in the police station?"

Yeung Hai: "Yang Zian isn't as stupid as he appears to be. He had a personal lawyer waiting at the police station who has accompanied him for the entire interview. The other lawyer sent by Emerald had to run back to his master with his tail between his legs. He knows he won't be able to escape since the story has made big headlines and he wants to make a deal for a lighter sentence."

Shen Mengyao: "He'll probably avoid prison in all honesty. At most a suspended sentence for a few years."

Qin Song tapped his cup with his index finger, he had a lazy smile on his face.

Yeung Hai: "We froze all of Yang Zian's accounts and found all the details of his multiple offshore accounts. My men have taken Zhi Weizhe into custody and frozen his accounts. Although nothing has been formalized yet, I've been told by investigators their looks to be some evidence of Zhi Weizhe receiving money from someone called Hsu Niu. Having looked into it Hsu Niu appears to be a doctor at a clinic in Pinggu."

Shen Qui: "It seems like this case spreads across Beijing." His uncle will definitely get the position of head of the Ministry of Public Security. This case dealt with bribery, financial fraud, power harassment and the medical sector. 

Qin Song: "Shall we discuss the details for tomorrow's press conference?"

All four men continued to discuss the details of the press conference. Shen Mengyao and Yeung Hai departed when a plan was in place. 

Qin Song and Shen Qui remained in the office. 

Wu Xing came in to replace the refreshments.

Qin Song: "Has Sung Liqui been dealt with?" He was tired of his secretaries constantly fluttering their eyelashes at him and his guests. This was already his eighth secretary this year. He had hired 2 male secretaries but they both had grand ambitions of making connections and climbing the career ladder. They even tried to gain access to confidential files. 'Why was good help so hard to find?'

Wu Xing: "Yes, I have given her a dismissal notice and she has received her pay for the rest of the month." He like Qin Song was getting tired of constantly looking at the resumes of new secretaries. 

Qin Song: "You may leave."

Shen Qui: "This Hsu Niu probably doesn't even have a clue he's being targetted."

Qin Song nodded: "He is one of Chen Wei's previous classmate's from medical school."

Shen Qui: "I take it they weren't friendly."

Qin Song: "There was a disagreement between Chen Wei and Hsu Niu during their 4th year, there weren't many details about what occurred exactly. However, it seems that they both lodged complaints against each other throughout their 4th year. Although the medical school didn't appear to be taking sides they clearly stood with Chen Wei. Hsu Niu eventually bowed down to pressure and chose to suspend his studies for a year and join the year below for his final year."

Shen Qui: "So what are you going to do?"

Qin Song: "I'll send someone to talk to Hsu Niu and sort out the accounts. I'll make Chen Wei's mole at the clinic look like he was the one who bribed the medical council and made it look like it was Hsu Niu. Then I'll hire Hsu Niu."

Shen Qui: "Who is his mole?"

Qin Song: "I can't reveal all now, it will spoil the show."

Shen Qui smiled: "You my friend, have a devious mind."

Qin Song shrugged: "It's what I do. I not only want Chen Wei to think that the people on his side made an error on which accounts to alter but also suspect it was an outsider who was playing him and that his employees may have double-crossed him. He's the type who overthinks everything. Let his thoughts drown him."

Shen Qui: "You are the embodiment of the phrase ' whilst the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware the Orile is behind. It's days like this, I'm thankful we're friends and not enemies."

Li Xiuying was getting ready to go to The Enchanted. She was wearing a black cashmere turtle neck jumper and dark navy slacks. She paired her outfit with a set of comfortable brogue T-bar flats. She purposefully chose inconspicuous clothes that allowed her to blend into the crowd and footwear that she could run in, if necessary.

She picked up a black side bag and put inside it a can of pepper spray, a mini air horn and her phone. Li Xiuiyng was taking no chances since she would be going somewhere, where she would be out of the public eye. 

Li Xiuying heard her phone ringing. It was a video call from Yao Changying. 

Yao Changying: "I saw you on the news!!! How could you start a war without your assistant general by your side?"

Li Xiuying smirked: "You were too busy dating."

Yao Changying: "It was one date."

Li Xiuying: "One of many?"

Yao Changying frowned then signed: "I don't know. I thought I would end things today. In fact, I was so close to making myself clear when his junior from university approached the table all flirty, fawning over him and smizing. He..."

Li Xiuying: "Smizing?"

Yao Changying: "She was making an alluring expression with her eyes like her eyes were saying 'come hither.'"

Li Xiuying nodded in understanding.

Yao Changying: "Where was I....he brushed her off and said some incredibly cringy things that made me laugh. Then somehow before I knew what was happening he made me forget what I set out to do. And don't think I haven't realized you've deliberately changed the subject."

Li Xiuying: "I guess only Lai Shi-on can divert your attention."

Yao Changying rolled her eyes. 

Li Xiuying: "Scientifically it's important to repeat a test in order to ascertain if the results are accurate."

Yao Changying: "I am a woman of science."

Li Xiuying glanced at the time: "I have to go. I have a meeting. Call you later."

Yao Changying excitedly asked: "Are you off to fight crime?"

Li Xiuying shook her head.

Yao Changying: "Oh! Are you off to create crime?! That's even better. They get to have all the fun with none of the worries. Take me with you!!! My bada** supervillain name will be The dark alpaca. Instilling fear and reaping havoc wherever I go."

Li Xiuying: "Superhero name? Light Alpaca?"

Yao Changying spoke in a matter of fact tone: "No that's stupid. It would be The Bright Alpaca."

Li Xiuying smiled: "I have to go now."

Yao Changying did a peace sign: "Dark alpaca out."

Li Xiuying smiled and shook her as she hung up.

Li Xiuying entered the front doors and was greeted by the maître'd.
