Granting You a Second Life 164 Critical Condition

Everyone quickly made their way to Lee HuiQing who was in a disheveled state. Tears and mucus were rolling down his face. There was mud on his clothes and hands, he had also lost one shoe. He even had a red cheek and the shape seemed to mimic that of fingers. 

A police officer draped a blanket on his shoulders. Madame Qin knelt down beside Lee HuiQing and wrapped the blanket around him. 

Gou Sheng and little 4th stood close to Lee HuiQing. 

Little 4th asked with concern: "HuiQing. What happened?"

Lee HuiQing was sobbing and shaking. 

Qin Song: "Everyone take a step back. Give him some space."

The police officer took a piece of chocolate out of his pocket and offered it to Madame Qin: "He's in shock, something sweet usually helps." He then signaled for his men to take a step back. 

Qin Song: "Jie."

Qin Jie: "Zhen. Sheng. Come and stand by me. Why don't we let big brother talk to HuiQing?" 

Little 4th and Gou Sheng were both reluctant as they went and stood either side of Qin Jie. 

Qin Song knelt down in front of Lee Huiqing and put an encouraging hand on his shoulder: "HuiQing can you tell big brother what happened? Take your time, no one will force you to say or do anything you don't want to. We can move to somewhere more private, with fewer people around." He knew Lee HuiQing rarely spoke to anyone outside of his 3 friends and his parents. 

Lee HuiQing was scared, he had just been running for his life and now he had to do what he hated in life; speak in public with all eyes focused on him. He took a deep breath and tried to settle the waves in his heart as bet as he could, he had to overcome his fears in order to help Li Xiuying. 

Lee HuiQing spoke quietly: "Big thithter ith in trouble. There were 2 men who tried to take Wen away with them. I ran and tried to thop them but they wouldn't let him go. Then one of them grabbed me too. He said we were a package deal and it was better to take 2 than 1.  Big thither came out of nowhere and hit the person that was holding Wen with a big stick. The then jumped onto the person that was holding me and grabbed his face. He dropped me on the floor and tried to get big thithter off. The thcreamed for us to run and to go to thafety then find help. I wanted to thay but Wen thaid we would only hinder her if we thayed. We tharted running and I heard the man thouting at uth and then I heard big thithter yelp. I turned around and thaw her on the floor holding the manth leg. He got angry with her and tharted kicking her. Wen kept pulling me along. He thaid we needed to go for help, that we don't have the power to fight the man alone."

Little 4th began tearing upon hearing what his brothers went through but also because of fear that he might lose Li Xiuying. He clutched onto Qin Jie's leg and hid his face. 

He suddenly looked around frantically: "Jun Wen!!!"

Lee HuiQing began crying: "Where's Wen? He kept pushing me forward and told me to keep running no matter what. He began running in a different direction. Wen."

Qin Song gently tugged Lee HuiQing out of madame Qi's arms and into his he said with utter confidence and if saying an oath: "We'll find them both."

Lee HuiQing buried his face in Qin Song's shoulder. 

Qin Song: "HuiQing I want you to think carefully before you answer. How long do you think you were running for? Did you see anything that stood out where you were that could help us identify the location."

Lee HuiQing: "I counted after Wen Left me. 900 thecondth."

Some of the policemen immediately went into the forest after hearing Lee Huiqing. 

Qin Song: "Anything of the forest that sticks out to you?"

Lee HuiQing shook his head. 

Roughly twenty minutes later Shen Menyao arrived on the scene. He briefly nodded to everyone in greeting before turning to QIn Song: " Song, what's happened so far? I've sent nearly 30 of my best men in there and 10 police dogs. Along with a few paramedics with each squad." 

When Qin Song was about to detail what happened one of the policemen recieved a message via the walky-talky and came over to report to Shen Mengyao: "Li Xiuying and Jun Wen have been found."

Shen Mengyao: "Carry on." 

Policeman: "Jun wen has minor injuries he is in shock but is otherwise well."

Little 4th urgently asked: "What about big sister? What about my big sister?"

Shen Mengyao knew it had to be serious if his officer paused before relaying the news; this meant he was silently asking if it was appropriate to speak. Shen Mengyao just hoped that she was still alive: "What of Li Xiuying?"

Policeman: "Li Xiuying seems to be in critical condition. She has sustained a head injury and what looks like broken ribs. I'm not sure if there any other injuries. She is currently unconscious and the paramedics are assessing her." 

Little 4th began crying and screaming: "Take me to big sister now. I want to see big sister."

Madame Qin became distraught at seeing her little baby acting this way. She began tearing up. She was about to step forward to comfort him when Qin Jie blocked her. 

Qin Jie went and picked up little 4th who immediately began to struggle: "Qin Zhen we will go to see Li Xiuying. You need to calm down she wouldn't want to see you behaving this way."

Little 4th screamed at the top of his lungs: "I want to see big sister YingYing!!! I want to see her now! Let me go!" He kicked and slapped Qin Jie and tried to push himself away. 

Everyone except the police officers were shocked by Little 4th's behavior, they have never seen him act this way and lose all composure and rationality. 

Qin Song spoke firmly: "Qin Zhen stop now. Li Xiuying will go to the hospital via ambulance. You can follow in the car. Do you think it's appropriate to hit one of the people who have cared for you all your life? When you have cooled down, look and see what you have done to Jie."

Qin Song: "Jun escort mother, little 4th, Lee HuiQing RuiRui to the hospital now. Have them all checked out. Update me on any news regarding Li Xiuying's condition." He deliberately had Qin Jie stay behind, Qin Jie was probably the most shocked and hurt by little 4th's actions. 1. because he bore the brunt of Little 4th's emotional outburst and 2. Little 4th has always respected and looked up to Qin Jie the most. Whenever little 4th needed peace or reassurance or someone to lend an understanding ear he would go to Qin Jie. 

Qin Song passed Lee HuiQing to Qin Xian Jun and Qin Jie did the same with little 4th, who had become eerily quiet. 

Shen Mengayao spoke to an officer: "Choose another 2 men and go with them." 

Qin Xian Jun began taking large steps towards the car. Madame Qin solemnly followed whilst holding Rui Rui's hand. 

Zhou FengMian used a vapid tone as she said: "Song baby?"

Qin Song sharp gaze turned to Zhou FengMian: "You should take Zhou Suyin home."

Zhou FengMian: "Maybe I should take her to the hospital. That way she can meet the others and have a check-up with them too."

A police officer nearby frowned 'What is this woman saying? There has just been an attempted kidnapping with someone in critical condition and she speaks as if going to the hospital is a playdate. '

Qin Song repeated: "You should take Zhou Suyin home to rest. Have your private doctor see her."

Zhou FengMian immediately did a 180 on her earlier idea: "Yes that's a good idea. Suyin has been through a lot today. I'll have our family's doctor check her out at home. Keep me updated on the situation with Jun Wen and Li Xiuying. Let me know if you need anything at all, call me any time."

She sighed as she continued: "To think that we all just came here to allow the children to have fun and it has turned into such a tragedy. I Don't even know what's going on in the world. You always hear about this sort of stuff in the news, you don't expect it to happen to real people like us."

Zhou FengMian took Zhou Suyin's hand: "Let's go and have you checked out."

As Zhou FengMian walked away she thought to herself 'well they didn't do what I wanted them to do but at least Li Xiuying was taught a lesson. If she dies that's even better, alls fair in love and war."

Qin Song ice-cold stare was on Zhou FengMian's departing figure ' I only lengthened the noose to allow you to hang yourself. I allowed you to live on borrowed time and you took the opportunity to let your confidence grow without bounds and act without restraint. All the while you didn't know that not only do I have a blade at your throat, I also have a gun at your temple. I will destroy everything you hold dear to you.
