“Eh?!” Murong Ting was on her way to see her father and stopped when she heard a familiar voice. Staring at the person who she felt strangely familiar, she only realized who that was after a good while with her fingers pointing at her. “You... you...”

“Watch your manners!” Murong Shen followed Ye Li out and glared at Murong Ting: “Kid, be polite to Mr. Xu.”

“Mr. Xu?!” Cried Murong Ting.

Ye Li grinned and raised her brows at her. “I'm Xu Qing Liu. Nice to meet you, Miss Murong.”

With a blush, Murong Ting hid behind Murong Shen in a hurry and gave Ye Li a reproachful glance. It wasn't that she had become shy. Ye Li was the one to blame for putting up a perfect disguise. Though her appearance hadn't changed, she still looked like a handsome young man, without any sign that she was actually a girl.

Murong Ting had always thought herself as an open-minded, bold and brave person. However, she must give Ye Li credit since she wouldn't be better if she disguised as a man. Though she knew Ye Li was a girl, however, she looked exactly like a handsome young man. Ye Li even had a bit innocent and childish smile on her face. Under Ye Li's gaze, Murong Ting felt a bit embarrassed after all.

Noticing Murong Ting's blush, which was rare, Ye Li couldn't help giving her another smile.

In the sun, Ye Li was handsome and elegant which couldn't be hid even she was wearing black.

Murong Ting had no choice but to widen her eyes and scold Ye Li inwardly: “Devil!”

“My Lord, I must be leaving now.” Ye Li stopped provoking Murong Ting and bid Murong Shen farewell.

Murong Shen nodded and said cautiously: “Please take care of Yong Lin.”

“I won't let you down, My Lord.” Ye Li replied with a smile.

Glancing at Ye Li, an idea came to Murong Ting: “Dad, what is Ah... Mr. Xu doing in Yong Lin?”

Murong Shen said, frowning: “Mr. Xu is going to help Yun Ting and Xia Shu guard the city.”

Murong Ting said in a hurry: “I want to go there, too.”

“Nonsense. We are talking serious war here. Don't give me more trouble.”

So angry that Murong Ting stomped her feet. Her father told her that a girl could not fight then why did he let Ah Li go to the battlefield? “I don't care! I want to guard Yong Lin as well! Only by now did Murong Ting notice the weird glances of soldiers around them. She hurriedly let go of Ye Li and made a wry face. Then she turned around and acted like a spoiled kid at her father. “Dad... let me go with Mr.Xu. I promise I won't cause any trouble.”

Helpless, Murong Shen turned to Ye Li.

Ye Li smiled with her head lowered. “My Lord, if you trust me, let Murong come with me.”

Murong Shen sighed. In such dire straits, it made no difference whether Murong Ting was here or in Yong Lin. Even if she stayed, he wouldn't be able to look after her when he was on the battlefield. “Well, please take care of her, Mr. Xu. I don't want to stay at home.” complained Murong Ting in a small voice. The last of her sentence was in such a small volume it almost sounded like a whisper.

However, since everyone in the group had good hearings, they all heard her.

Yun Ting laughed: “Miss Murong, Mr. Leng might cry if he hears that.”

Grimacing, Murong Ting snorted at him and spurred her horse onward, leaving the group behind.

Smilingly, Ye Li caught up with her and said: “General Murong cares about you so much. He is afraid you'll get in danger.”

“I know that. But I'm his only child, I want to make him proud. Besides, I'm not a kid anymore. I won't act on impulse. He won't allow me on the battlefield, I haven't acted against his will no matter how much I want to.”

Ye Li nodded. She knew that though Murong Ting was a bit willful, she knew what to do and never let others worry about her.
