Flash Marriage Chapter 28

         Holding up an umbrella, Jiang Li who walked to our company entrance and looked at me before he turned to look at Yu Zi Fei who was standing beside me.  Finally, he shifted his eyes to rest on Wang Kai's colorful and flowery umbrella…….that umbrella was really attractive.

          Suddenly Jiang Li pulled me into his embrace then bowed his head and said in a mesmerizing voice tone.  "Sorry, I came late."

          I shivered slightly.  I could not help but sigh…….Jiang Li's acting skills seemed to have improved a lot more.

          Before I could get over this Jiang Li suddenly brushed aside my bangs and planted a fierce kiss on my forehead and said.  "Darling, are you cold?"

          I shivered again.  Actually, I did not feel cold but his 'Darling' was enough to make me freeze all over……

          Jiang Li gave out a low laugh, pinched my face then took off his coat and draped it over me.  Holding up his umbrella, he pulled me in his arms and led me into the rain. 

          I was firmly restrained in Jiang Li's arms and could not even turn my head to look back…….  I wondered how Yu Zi Fei felt when he saw my 'happy look'…..would he feel frustrated?

          Suddenly Jiang Li lowered his head and kissed my forehead then flippantly said.  "No need to look, you have won."

          I raised my hand and rubbed my forehead.  Why kiss me when I had won?!

          He looked down at me and suddenly laughed wickedly.  "You're blushing."

          Nonsense, this is because I feel angry, very angry!

          "But when you're blushing….."  He paused as if searching for the right words.  "You look stupid."

          Damn!  What did he say?  Although I am a bit more generous and a bit more tolerant,  if I did not show him my true colors in the face of his provocation, he would never know the power of this old woman!   So with determination, I lifted my foot and aimed for his shoes.

          Jiang Li seemed to be aware of my intention and deftly stepped aside to avoid my attack.  And I, because my foot did not strike on target, wobbled and lost my balance……..  To prevent myself from falling, I shamelessly hugged Jiang Li and clung to him.

          Jiang Li frowned and said.  "What I said just now, was wrong."

          Wow, did Jiang Li changed his stance?  He really said those words?  So, it is indeed true that violence is equivalent to fighting power……..

          JL:  "You don't only look stupid, you are really stupid!"

          I gritted my whole jaw of steel teeth but was unable to do anything to him.

          He totally ignored my dissatisfaction, directly stuffed me into the car and drove off.

          I leaned against the window, looked through the glass and saw Yu Zi Fei and Wang Kai standing together looking over at us.  Because it was still raining, I could not see clearly but looking at the two obscure figures, suddenly I felt emotional and mumbled to myself.  "Those two are actually quite matching."

          As I finished talking, I felt a knock on my head......courtesy of Jiang Li.  I felt angry and glared at him…….you can play around with men, why can't I even talk corruptly about men?

          Jiang Li drove the car in a relaxed manner and casually asked.  "Your unscrupulous online friend also works here?  He really cares for you very much."

          Me:  "What is the matter, are you jealous?"  I had always suspected Jiang Li's attitude towards Wang Kai.  In addition to being annoyed with him, he also coveted Wang Kai.  Although Wang Kai's temperament was not good but based on his appearance, he could be considered one of the best.

          After listening to my words, Jiang Li scoffed and said.  "Yes, I am jealous.  So what are you going to do about it?"

          What about it?   What am I supposed to do?  Oh my God, this old mother just had a full salary raise, do you expect me to resign?  He must be kidding……just for his peach blossoms to bloom, this old mother had to give up an unimaginable salary raise?  Thinking of here, I shook my head and said.  "It is impossible for me to resign."

          "Um….."  Jiang Li gave a monosyllable answer and then did not speak again.

          I felt a little scared for Jiang Li is a ruthless person to cross and in case he wanted revenge, what should I do?  In order to placate him, I laughed and said.  "Then, maybe next time I will trick him home and you can deal with him as you like."

          "No need."  Jiang Li shook his head.  "Not interested in his type."

          Oh, so he does not suit your taste.  Suddenly the image Xue Yun Feng's figure came into my mind……that little beauty would be more suited to his taste.  

          Jiang Li concentrated on his driving and did not talk to me again.  When we were about to reach home, he suddenly asked.  "Your online friend's surname is Wang.  Is he in any way related to Wang Cheng Hai?"

          Me:  "Wang Cheng Hai?  This name is really familiar."

          Jiang Li also explained.  "Wang Cheng Hai is a shareholder of Southern Star Group and your company is controlled by Southern Star Group."

          I slapped a palm on my forehead......now I remember.  "Oh yes, Wang Cheng Hai is his father."

          Instantly the car braked, I was not prepared for the sudden stop and had a fright.

          I turned my head around and was about to ask Jiang Li but found he was looking at me with a mysterious dangerous look.  Under normal circumstances, this look would indicate Guan Xiao Yan had done something wrong and Jiang Li felt very dissatisfied.  He stared at me in such a way that made me feel scared so, I lowered my head and did not dare to look at him.  Although I did not know what I had done wrong, but……I felt afraid……ah….. 

          Guan Xiao Yan, you are really good-for-nothing!

          "Guan Xiao Yan."  Jiang Li's voice sounded gloomy and cold.  My little heart and liver trembled with fear.  "Your capability of getting hooked is getting better, huh?"

          Hey, it was him trying to hook up with me, okay!  And I had been tenaciously trying hard not to be hooked by him!

          In the evening, I had to peel an apple for Jiang Li…….well, this was my status at home.  Jiang Li being the great landlord and capitalist would not give up until he could wring the last drop of blood from me.  As to why he could make me, Guan Xiao Yan obediently listen to him……..you must be kidding, do you think Guan Xiao Yan had the ability to fight against him?  Forget that Guan Xiao Yan was just only one person, even if there were ten of Guan Xiao Yan, would they be able to outwit him?

          Oh God, now my sad feelings have risen in my heart.  It is better for me to stop thinking so that I can concentrate on peeling the apple.  If this is not done properly, Uncle Jiang would not be happy and the consequences would be serious!

          I had just finished peeling half an apple when suddenly my phone sounded to indicate a text message had come in.  I looked up pitifully at Jiang Li with the expression that said……..can I look at the message?   He squinted his eyes and waved his hand to show permission granted.   

          I put down the apple and took out my phone to look at the screen.  It was an unfamiliar number.  The message was very short, just a few words:  Yan Yan, are you really happy?

          Jiang Li picked up the half apple that was still unpeeled.  As he started to peel the apple, he asked.  "Who sent you the message?"

          I looked at the unfamiliar number and said.  "Yu Zi Fei."   In this world, only one person would call me 'Yan Yan'.

          Jiang Li did not stop his movements and was even too lazy to lift his head.  "Then?"

          I looked down at the six words.  "It is just a greeting."

          "Oh."  Someone continued to peel the apple.

          I stared at Yu Zi Fei's message distractedly for a while, then suddenly said.  "Jiang Li, I think all that we had done was really unnecessary."

          "Huh?……"  Jiang Li gave me a puzzled look.

          "What I meant is acting in front of Yu Zi Fei was unnecessary.  Both of us had separated for four years and whatever ought to be settled, should have been settled.  Why do I still have to bear a grudge against him?  I even felt foolish about the whole thing."

          Jiang Li had finished peeling the apple and now he was cutting it into small pieces.  While carefully cutting the apple, he casually replied.  "Correct, you are very foolish."

          Hey!

          Me:  "Jiang Li, if you are to meet your old love again, what will you do?"

          JL:  "Do what I should do."  What nonsense!

          Me:  "What will you do if your old love is naked in your bed?"

          JL:  "Throw him out."

          Me:  "I don't believe you.  How can you resist the temptation?"

          JL:  "Or I can take pictures of him and extort money from him."

          Me:  "You are so despicable!"

          JL:  "Okay, I can still sue him, charge him for breaking-in and sexual assault."

          Me:  "….."

          I just simply worship the words 'sexual assault'.

          Then Jiang Li said.  "Guan Xiao Yan, you are too persistent, persistent to the extreme."

          I scratched my head and said innocently.  "No, I am a very flexible person."

          JL:  "In your mind, leaving you means abandoning you and abandoning you means betraying you.  So, leaving you is equivalent to betraying you."

          I blinked my eyes.  "Isn't that correct?"

          Jiang Li shook his head.  "Who stipulated that others must stay with you and cannot leave you?  Even if he did abandon you, it does not necessarily mean that he had done something wrong or maybe it could be, you had chosen the wrong person."

          I was speechless.  I thought for a long while and finally said.  "He…..he had said that he would be with me forever......for a lifetime……."

          Jiang Li shook his head hopelessly at my inability to understand.  "You are old enough and still believe in this kind of words?  Sometimes promises are worthless as cow dung."

          I was stunned and agreed that promises were truly worthless.  I had always disregarded the promises I made to He Zi, and even the minor things within my control, I had always broken my promise and therefore, what was so special about the promise of a lifetime?  Those were just sweet meaningless words and it was ridiculous for me to take them so seriously.

          Me:  "Jiang Li, I will never do that again."

          JL:  "What?"

          Me:  "In the future, I will never again believe in promises made by anyone."

          JL:  "In fact, you can occasionally believe in me as my character has always been good."

          Me:  "Actually I don't see any connection between you and good character that is worth two dimes."

          Jiang Li narrowed his eyes.  "Is it?"

          I shivered as a chill ran through my body and I quickly changed my reply.  "No, no, your character is good, very good! ……"

          TNND!  You do not even give me the freedom of speech and has the guts to talk about your good character?

          At night, before going to bed, I sent a text message to that unfamiliar number:  Yes, I am very happy and my happiness has nothing to do with you.
