Flash Marriage Chapter 15

         It has been a couple of days since I had arrived in the Maldives.  Everything here was good except for the food which I did not like.

          The hotel only served Western cuisine and although the food was sumptuous, it was not to my liking.  In the beginning, I could still try to eat a little bit but after a few days of eating the same food, I finally began to worship the Westerners' self-mistreatment spirit…..these types of food, can they eat for a lifetime……a lifetime?!

          I finally realized the beauty of Chinese food, whether they were the food of the highest caliber or food of the lowest grade, at least people could still eat……

          I think if I am an ape, then I would have the healthiest and happiest life in the Maldives because all my daily three meals consisted of only fruits.

          It was a pity I am a human who loved to eat a variety of grains and a variety of foods, and as a result, I lost a kilo of body weight during the few days spent in the Maldives!

          Of course, I did not like the 'additional weight loss program' the hotel offered but I could not do anything.  If I had known about the food served here, then I would not have brought anything with me except for a box of 'Master Kang' instant noodles!

          Because of this, I had to admire Jiang Li.  Looking at him, I knew he also did not like western food but he still ate with relish.

          So, I asked:  "Jiang Li, do you like the food here?"

          JL:  "No."

          Me:  "Then, why do you eat so much?"

          JL:  "If I don't eat, I'll be hungry, silly!"

          Well, I had to admit that between a perverted person's thinking and a normal person's thinking, there is a huge gap…..that I can understand.

          So, I seized the opportunity to ask him.  "Then, is the food I cook delicious?" 

          Say delicious, delicious!

          Jiang Li thought for a moment and in the end, he gave a fair evaluation.  "Not bad."

          Me:  *Wow….ha, ha, ha*

          Today, while Jiang Li and I were having dinner, my cellphone suddenly rang.

          Hateful!  Who is calling me at this time……wasting my call charges!  Taking out my phone, I took a look……it was that lingering ghostly soul, Wang Kai.

          I hesitated.  That guy has been calling again and again with persistence, so I pressed the answer key.

          Me:  "Wang Kai, you'd better top up my cellphone card!"

          Wang Kai:  "Xiao Yan, come to the beach!"

          Me:  "What is it?"

          Wang Kai:  "Today is your birthday.  I have a gift for you."

          Suddenly I realized.  "Ah, today is my birthday.  I have forgotten….."

          Wang Kai:  "Come quickly, I have something good to give you."

          Me:  "What is it?  You won't lie to me, right?"

          Wang Kai:  "Looks like, you are not concerned about your phone bill."

          Me:  "Okay, I'll be right there.  If you dare lie to me……*humph*….."

          Wang Kai, this guy sometimes like to coax people, make others happy and generally women like this type of men.  Suddenly I remembered those photos of beautiful women posted on his blog……apparently it is uncertain whether those were genuinely his girlfriends in different stages of time.  Oh God, if that is the case, he is too powerful……..

          When I reached the beach, I saw Wang Kai smiling at me with both his hands behind his back. 

          I walked over to him, held out my hand and said.  "Give it to me."

          Then Wang Kai brought his hands to the front, holding a complete mess of something that touched me. 

          Master Kang, ah……Master Kang that was in my dreams…! ! !

          At that moment, the classic braised beef noodle soup from Master Kang was placed in front of me......steaming hot in a bowl.  Unscrupulously, I grabbed the bowl over, flashed him a big smile and said.  "Thank you!"

          Then without waiting for Wang Kai to say anything, I quickly sat down on the beach and began slurping up the noodles.

          So delicious! ! !

          My stomach which had endured several days of the ape-diet finally received this little comfort.

          Probably Wang Kai was shocked by the way I ate and became silent for a long time before he finally began to speak.

          Wang Kai:  "Eat slowly, don't choke on your food."

          Me:  *slurp..slurp…..*

          Wang Kai:  "Why do I have the impression that you are like a refugee?"

          Me:  *slurp..slurp…..*

          Wang Kai:  "I bought this over with a high price from someone else.  Are you touched?"

          Me:  *slurp..slurp…..*

          Wang Kai:  "I cooked this bowl of noodles in my room which is against hotel rules.  Are you touched?"

          Me:  *slurp..slurp…..*

          Wang Kai:  ! ! ! !

          I drank all of Master Kang's soup and I did not lick the bowl as well because Wang Kai had prevented me.

          I patted my belly and said with satisfaction.  "Ah....... Thank you."

          With a rare show of meekness, Wang Kai sat down beside me, smiled and said.  "As long as you are happy, it's good."

          To say I was not touched would be a lie.  Women are sentimental and my friendship with Wang Kai was not deep but he actually remembered my birthday.  He had also worked his magic to present me a bowl of Master Kang noodles to coax me……although I know his intentions were not simple, my heart still felt warm.

          Of course, being moved was another matter and the principle of perseverance still had to be adhered to.  So, I blatantly swatted away Wang Kai's claws that were resting on my shoulders. 

          Very fiercely I reprimanded him.  "Boy, you think with a packet of instant noodles you can suck up this old woman?"

          Rubbing his sore hand, the thick-skinned Wang Kai smiled and said.  "Then, tell me what I should do?"

          Damn!  I almost fell into his trap.  I turned my head, waved my hand and said.  "Nothing can be done.  This is a matter of principle."

          After pondering for a while, Wang Kai said.  "This is easy.  You should first file for divorce before you have an extramarital affair."

          Does he think my principle is fidelity in marriage?  Fidelity his head!  This lousy suggestion, he even has the cheek to say it!

          I shifted my body further away from him and humph scornfully.  "How many families did you ruined this way?"

          He waved his hand and replied.  "Basically I am always the one being seduced, so, you should understand."

          In this world, is there anyone more shameless than him?!

          I lowered my head and said in a very serious tone.  "Wang Kai, there are two kinds of people in this world.  One who plays with feelings and the other is being played by feelings.  I am stupid and can't afford to play with feelings.  I also don't want to be played by feelings.  This way of putting it, is it clear enough for you?"

          With the intention to probe further, he asked.  "Then your method is not to get emotionally attached?"

          I hesitated for a moment, nodded, probably like this……

          Suddenly Wang Kai laughed happily and said.  "Guan Xiao Yan, ah…Guan Xiao Yan, you are really an idiot."

          I felt angry……you are an idiot!   

          Wang Kai continued.  "If someone wants to play with you, you should play back twice as hard to see who will be the winner."

          I stood up, patted the sand from my body and looked down at Wang Kai's head of messy hair.  "Both our world outlook is different.  I can't communicate with you."   Then, I turned around and left.

          When I went back to the hotel, Jiang Li had already returned to the room.  As I laid down on the bed, I went over the words spoken by Wang Kai.

          If others play, you should play them back to see who would win.

          I found that I really did not have this ability.  If I wanted to play with another person's feelings, I guessed that even before it ended, I would already be emotionally involved, right?  He Zi had often scolded me about my feelings in this type of situation.....easily at a disadvantage …..it seems she had scolded me correctly.  I admired Wang Kai more and more.  When he played with the feelings of others, did he not feel at least a little sad, a little guilty, a little uncomfortable?  Wang Kai could still be considered as having the spirit of loyalty towards me but if he really intended to treat me the same way he treated his girlfriends, then I really could not continue being friends with him.

          Just as I was deep in my troubled thoughts, suddenly Jiang Li spoke.  "Is today your birthday?"

          Caught by surprise, I hesitated.  "Ah?......Um, why?"

          Jiang Li was silent for a moment and finally said.  "Then……Happy Birthday."

          His friendly action gave me a scare.  I lightly laughed and said.  "Happy….of course, happy."

          Jiang Li was disturbed by my behavior.  "You're so happy......what good thing did that guy give you?"

          I proudly said.  "Instant noodles!  He really gifted me something that was needed badly!"

          Jiang Li snorted disdainfully and said.  "This kind of thing, he can really present as a gift?"

          Accustomed to his venomous tongue, I did not care and took the opportunity to ask him.  "So, did you prepare a gift for me?"

          Jiang Li firmly and confidently replied.  "No."

          Oh my God, don't you feel at least a little guilty?

          When he saw my unhappy expression, he did not argue with me but instead said.  "Whatever you want, I will get for you when we go home."

          I thought for a moment then shook my head and said.  "Forget it.  Both of us are not related."

          He was dissatisfied.  "No matter what you say, you are still my wife."

          I firmly shook my head.  "Not necessary since we are not familiar with each other."  Actually, my main concern was that if Jiang Li is to give me something for my birthday then I will have to give him something for his birthday in return which has to be equivalent to the value of the gift he gave me.  Wouldn't that be extra expenditure? ……  So, it would be better not to give any gift to each other. 

          Probably Jiang Li also thought it would be too troublesome, so he did not continue to speak.

          It was still too early for bed, so I took out my laptop and went online.

          Several friends left messages in my QQ account to wish me happy birthday including one from He Zi which flatly said:  Xiao Yan, congratulations to you on getting older by a year….

          The Maldives were four hours behind Beijing and now, He Zi should be fast asleep.  I had no choice but to visit the forum. 

          Surfing the forum for a while, I realized someone was talking to me.

          Rendezvous After Dusk:  Xiao Yan, are you still awake?

          I was a diving party, so I ignored him and pretended I was already asleep.

          Then he sent me a message:  I know you are invisible.

          I was astonished and immediately messaged him:  How did you know?

          Rendezvous After Dusk:  I was just trying and didn't expect you are really here.

          That line of small characters of ordinary black Arial Text Size No. 9 in front of my eyes seemed to be laughing at me……stupid!.....stupid!…….

          I felt angry that I ignored him.  After a while, he sent over a message again.

          Rendezvous After Dusk:  Xiao Yan, I had figured it out.

          Me:  ......? ?......

          Rendezvous After Dusk:  Your face is passable,  your body is not sexy, your thinking is old-fashion and you are timid and not passionate.  And the most important thing is, your reflexes are too slow, IQ too low, so basically you are unable to communicate with others and you don't even know how to flirt.

          I felt angry......  His mother!  His uncle!  His grandmother!

          Gentle Smile Yan Yan:  What you have figured out is how to belittle me?

          Rendezvous After Dusk:  No, I had figured out that you are not suitable as a lover.

          I gritted my teeth:  Just let me know the result of your thoughts.  That will do!  As for the process, you can hold back!

          Rendezvous After Dusk:  So, we can still be friends and I will not feel disdain for you."

          In fact, narcissism is also a form of battling strength which can make you courageous, make your five internal organs burn, make you sweat and make you breathless……

          Seeing that I did not reply, Rendezvous After Dusk, then said.  What is the matter?  Moved to tears?

          Trembling, I replied:  Sweating…..
