Fire Mage Chapter 379: Mutated

As Charles looked up at the sky, his vision blurred for a moment and showed tens of futuristic images.

In the first few images, he saw thousands of trees moved on their own and were attacking with countless metal-like root spikes.

He saw himself ambushed at the cliff's edge in another few images and then swallowed by a giant rock monster.

In the third list of images, he randomly touched a plant's leaf and got trapped in an unbreakable illusion.

With no other way, he wandered in this dangerous forest like a drunken man.

As the images continued to appear, he soon learned that all these images were related to possible futures.

He also saw some normal future images like him discovering a ruin at the foot of a mountain, found a rare fruit used for a potion recipe near a lake, and so on.

'These are the possible futures... But when I activated the [Multi-Vision] skill in Edhen World, why couldn't I see clear future images as now?' A question appeared in his mind.

'Is it something to do with the World's Will? Did it block me from seeing near futures?' He felt that was a possible answer.

Then, he shifted his attention towards the future images and soon frowned.

'This forest seems to be a dangerous one, even for a Rank-5 Mystic. The trees, plants, even small mushrooms appear to have consciousness on their own. Although I don't sense any presence or soul within them, I vaguely sense that someone is monitoring me.' As that thought whirled in his head, he perceived a danger sensation.

Without any delay, he cast [False Blink] spell and disappeared from there.

The next instant, he reappeared 10 meters away from where he hovered before and turned around to look at that place.

At that moment, more than 100 spiky roots came from below and pierced towards the sky.

Simultaneously, Charles felt a feeling of being observed by countless eyes!

He instantly knew that the whole dense forest was filled with hundreds of thousands of Tree Monsters!

Meanwhile, all the trees, vines, and plants shook violently and began to move on their own!

Without any delay, Charles flapped his red wings and rose higher.

But he also knew that there was something else hiding in the sky and continued to pay attention towards the dark clouds.

'In one of the earlier visions, a mysterious being attacked me all of a sudden and ambushed me. Although I didn't see that figure's clear image, I vaguely saw a humanoid appearance.'

The next second, his vision heightened to an unimaginable level and enabled him to see more than 20 km of the surrounding areas. He saw many unique trees, plant-type monsters, golems, faraway mountain ranges, and even some monstrous birds.

He also noticed many city ruins appeared in many parts of the area.

There were also ruined temples, broken castles, mansions, and the largest rock fortress that almost looked like a mountain, stone statues, and many other ruins that appeared everywhere.

'Damn, there are so many temples out there.' He was shocked a little.

He also realized that God's Divine Kingdom was nothing but another separate world!

He knew with a simple survey that most of them living in this divine kingdom shared the same culture and customs as the Red Humans.

But what made him furrow his eyebrows was that some of the temples had different architecture.

Most of the temples appeared in dome shapes, while more than a dozen temples had spires and towering pillars.

'So, the people who lived in this divine kingdom are also fought with each other, huh. Hmm? They appeared to have divided into two groups. The majority of the believers worshipped the Fire Bird, while the rest worshipped a completely different deity. No, it's not a different deity but a Red Sun!' He saw multiple Red Sun symbols at the dozens of unique temples' entrances and continued to think.

'What does this Red Sun represent? Is it another identity of the Fire Bird? It is possible. If not, why did Fire Bird allow them to live in its Divine Kingdom?' He couldn't help but show a curious look on his face.

After looking around the surroundings for a few seconds, he recorded his memories and created a mini-map in his Inner World.

After that, he chose one of the twelve unique temples as his target and flapped his red wings.

But just as he flew towards a particular direction, a humanoid figure descended from the dark cloud and flew towards him.

Meanwhile, Charles's eyes widened!

The humanoid figure was a young man with two crimson wings flapping behind.

He was around 25 to 30 years old, had a square face, and wore golden armor over his knight cloth.

But unlike Charles's Fire Wings, that young man's wings appeared to be made of real feathers!

If not for his [Arcane Eyes] skill sending information about him, he would've thought of him as an Angel.

There was not even a sign of any fire elemental power around him!

'A mutated Human, is it? Moreover, why there is a question mark appear in the age section?' He furrowed his brows and soon checked his class.

'Rank-5 [King] Class Mystic? So, he is also following the Class-Gem path, huh.'

He then shifted his attention towards the subclass section and went solemn.

'No good. This young man is a dual-class mystic! Rank-5 [Observer of Secrets]? It's going to be a tough battle!' He also saw a strange title called 'Protector' appeared in his status.

'It's better to avoid confronting him now.'

Nodding inwardly, he cast [Flame Teleportation] spell and was about to escape, but soon froze!

The next instant, he noticed that something was obstructing him from casting a spell!

It was as if some invisible power seeped into his Dark Space and prohibited him from activating his spell models!

'Sh*t! No good!' He instantly activated [Forewarning] skill and peeked into the near future.

Simultaneously, he cast Rank-4 [Sun's Shield] spell on himself and blocked the foreign power from entering his Dark Space.

Meanwhile, the young man arrived before him, flapped his wings, and stared at him with an icy look.

His face was pale, and his two amber eyes appeared more like dead ones' eyes!

But what made Charles pause in surprise was that a strange eyelid appeared on his forehead, giving him a peculiar sensation in his heart!

'This guy looks more like a doll!' He maintained his vigilance and get ready for any attack.

After that, he shifted his attention towards his golden spear, then towards the young man's face and asked.

"Who are you?"

Unfortunately, no reply came out of the young man's mouth.

Instead, the young man gripped the golden spear in his right hand, made a battle stance, and thrust it towards Charles's head!

The next instant, the spear tore through the air and collided with the [Sun's Shield] with a bang.

Although the defensive spell managed to block the spearhead, the spear created a shockwave at the end and pushed Charles more than 10 meters away!

Simultaneously, the young man looked into Charles's eyes and muttered.

"Invasion!"

The next instant, another mysterious power seeped into the Sun's Shield spell, entered his Dark Space, and soon invaded his Inner World.

In a second, an eerie black smoke appeared within his Inner World and soon formed into an illusionary appearance of the young man.

The young man soon opened his eyes, looked at the surroundings, and frowned.

But before he could think further, countless purple fireballs rained down from the sky and attacked him.

Soon, one of the purple fireballs landed on his body and directly erased his memories.

Within two seconds, the newly invaded consciousness turned into a pure form of information!

On the other hand, a surprise flashed on the young man's face!
