Chapter 38

 The minute I woke up from my sleep, I felt a bit absentminded. In front of me was the first ray of morning sunshine and a gentle sea breeze brushing gently across my cheeks. Ever since my trip to Iceland, it has been a while since I felt such mild weather and it only made me feel as if I was back to the time when I just started this journey. 

 I reached out my hand in heavy drowsiness, wanting to touch the warmth of the sunshine, but suddenly, I saw a layer of translucent film between each of my fingers. In the visible light, it was shown in a dull, silver color, and my nails were all unnaturally long and sharp, just like the webbed claws of a Mermaid.

  My sleepiness was abruptly wiped away in fright. I let out a shout and immediately sat up in bed to repeatedly examine my hands. 

  However, there was nothing. 

 Just now, it seemed like it was merely a momentary illusion, even though it appeared to be so real.

 Agares… what exactly did he do to me? Don't tell me he had cast a spell on me!

 The recollection of yesterday's unbearable night suddenly exploded in my mind. I sprang up nervously from beneath the blanket and looked around the room like a frightened elk, and after confirming that Agares wasn't there, I collapsed on the bed with a long sigh of relief. Shame seemed to be a part of the air, which was as ubiquitous as the strong scent he left behind. With the blanket covering my entire curled up self, I clenched my fist, and buried my head in my knees.

  Too shameful… too embarrassing…

 That wild beast and I had made love, furthermore, there was full cooperation from both sides, and I couldn't help enjoying it. Desharow, are you really so quick to give in to this raw lustful temptation? 

 Damn it… I dug my fingers into the blanket. That beast left as soon as he finished venting, what does he regard me as! If he dares to stay next time, I'll shoot off that annoying face of his! 

 I cursed viciously, but my brain was unrestrained, like a movie being replayed over and over again, continuously showing scenes of our bodies. My cheeks rapidly escalated to a boiling point, cooking me to the point where sweat started dripping down, yet I still gradually hid myself under the blanket. The rising temperature, however, immediately made me smell a more embarrassing scent coming from the cotton— 

 The smell was a mixture of Agares's and my essence. It was so rich and strong that it only made me recall how intense last night was.  

 Shit! Fuck! Ahhhh, damn it!  

I jumped out of bed at once and with the rage urged on by humiliation, I grabbed the blanket and threw it out the window with no consideration. 

 However, the moment the blanket fell into the sea, I immediately noticed a long, black shadow swimming under the blue water, and because of this sudden activity, it floated upward to the surface.

 That was precisely Agares. I saw the face that was in need of beating appearing first, then his well-toned upper body. He looked up while lazily swaying his extraordinary fishtail and with his eyes narrowed, he used a smile that was rather full of satisfaction to look at me and would occasionally raise the bulging part below his lower abdomen out of the sea as if he was deliberately hinting to me that he had possessed me last night.

 My five fingers gripped against the window tightly and I stared at him with gritted teeth, showing him my middle finger with the other hand.

  But the response I got in return was Agares's sinister yet mischievous smirk. He even stretched out the tip of his scarlet tongue and licked his lips ambiguously while staring at my body in hunger, making me realize that I forgot to put on some clothes! 

 With towering rage, I grabbed the chair placed by the table and threw it down unforgivingly, my own voice sounded with a trembling snarl, "Get lost, get lost, you evil creature, you perverted rod, you animal!"

 Before my voice could die down, a huge splash of water landed on my face. Before I could wipe the water away, a cold, webbed claw suddenly grabbed my throat and half of my body was quickly dragged toward the window by a strange force. Agares's face was then nearly within reach, startling me and making me scream out in horror. But my lips were tightly blocked in the next second, and the tongue filled with the taste of seawater, salty and bitter, invaded through my lips and teeth and began to wantonly taste my tongue.  

 I swear I regret provoking this fickle beast using the human way of doing things! I braced firmly against the window in panic for fear that he would completely drag me into the sea the next moment. However, both my hands were unable to form any big movements, and in the end, it only became a hindering shackle that limited my struggle. This made the beast even more unbridled. 

 His webbed claw moved down my bareback, his lips trailed down my neck, his slimy tongue stopping to lick my Adam's apple in a circular motion as if it was a savory, plump grape. I desperately tried to retract my body from the window but was strongly suppressed by Agares. He even threatened me by pulling me a couple of inches further as if saying that if I still didn't become obedient, I would be dragged into the sea by him. 

 I was beating this beast into meat paste in my heart, but in truth, all I could do was grit my teeth and close my eyes, hoping that someone would suddenly knock on the door and give me a chance to escape from the hands of this wild beast that had been energetic since this morning. 

 The tingling and itchy feeling coming from my throat attacked my nerves. My breathing became hurried and urgent creating a suffocating feeling as if my windpipe was being blocked by Agares's provocation. My heart was beating fast and unsteady while all the blood in my body was pumping into my brain. Even my entire neck felt so sensitive that goosebumps appeared. 

 "Enough, you animal. Spare me…"

 I swallowed before begging him for mercy in the end, but my voice sounded so hoarse and weak that it made me lose face. 

 But, contrary to my wishes, Agares just let out a low chuckle and licked my earlobe. He then opened his mouth, engulfed my entire ear, and began to suck on it like it was a grape, creating many obscene wet noises. The sound made my body tremble slightly as if I had been electrocuted. The way he was using his tongue to probe around was as if he wasn't touching my ear, but my…  

 I felt an uncontrollable physiological reaction. My earlobe felt like it was melting away as Agares wrapped his tongue around it. My forehead was dripping with sweat and my cheeks were also burning hot. 

 I never thought my ear would be this sensitive that I wouldn't be able to control myself. As my hands weakened and turned soft, even the strength to prop myself up was gone. As I was on the verge of collapsing, I felt myself being dragged into the sea by Agares, so I had no choice but to use my utmost strength to lift my body back up. My hands that were covered in water from Agares's body made me slip backward. With the loss of gravity, I ended up falling back down on top of the desk where Agares's body pressed right on top of me, then my legs, all at once, were spread open.  

 "Damn you! Let me go… let me go!" I shouted in mortification as I tried to push Agares's body that was inching little by little into my room from the window, with great strength. The thick and long fishtail was rubbing restlessly against the instep of my foot, making it clear how energetic and vigorous this old beast was. I already felt my legs begin to shake. Damn it, if I were to be done again, don't even think about standing today!

 Just at this moment, I heard something thump against the door while at the same time, there was a loud cracking sound of a firearm, and then I saw a blaze rapidly pass by Agares's tail! 

  "Quick! The monster appeared again. He actually wants to get into Desharow's room. Hurry! Use the anesthetic bullet, don't let him get away!"

 The sharp voice of a woman rang out. That was Sakarol's voice. 

 "Desharow!!!" Rhine was slamming against the door while desperately yelling my name. 

 Agares's entire body became tense in a split second, his face was overcasted by gloomy clouds, and his eyes, filled with unwillingness, gave me a quick glance before turning to look at the bullets firing past his tail. He let out a low, ruthless growl and his body withdrew from the window and plunged into the sea like a blade. Among the large splashing waters, his trace disappeared in just a blink of an eye.  

 There was a loud "bang" coming from behind and then the door slammed open. I sat up in a panic and before there was time for me to grab the clothes scattered around, I was seen completely and thoroughly by Rhine who had barged in.

 "Hey, hey, man. Before you come in, knock on the door first, okay!"

 I relentlessly yelled out mindlessly. Ashamed and unable to show my face, I squatted down to pick up my pants and hurriedly put it on. I didn't dare to stand nor lookup. God knows how much I just wanted to dive into the sea to hide myself!  

 However, not even waiting for me to zip up my pants, my arm was suddenly restricted and I was dragged by Rhine to stand up to face him. Rhine's eyes looked bloodshot in front of me, "Desharow, are you okay? Did that beast…"  

 As he spoke, his eyes trailed down my bare neck before becoming stunned, and his firm contour slightly twitched. I didn't even have to look to know what kind of scene my body was showing. It must have been full of lewd traces left by Agares. My cheeks swelled up with heated blood and my teeth were clenched nearly to the point of shattering, "You… Have you seen enough yet!?" 

 The secret that was unbearable to talk about was now exposed, and the shame and indignation urged me to break away from Rhine's tight grip. I grabbed the rest of my clothes and draped them over my body before flying out the door and dashing straight to the prow of the ship. In a spurt of energy, I climbed the high observation tower in a rush. Finally exhausted, I sat down and leaned against the railing while looking at the boundless sea with my heart feeling confused.
