Cthulhu Gonfalon Chapter 3

The moon shone down on the sea. Countless glittering silver waves surged up.

Sui Xiong didn't know whether or not it was a delusion. But after he arrived in this world, the moon looked much bigger than the earth. The moonlight was also a lot brighter. Eventhough right now was night time, the lightning situation was not bad. Sui Xiong could even clearly see that those things were swallowing up a group of baby fish into their toothy jaws.

They approached and ate very fast. Not too long after that, having consumed all the jellyfishes on the surface of the sea, they slowly advanced toward Sui Xiong.

Sui Xiong didn't run away. Instead, he floated in silence on the surface of the sea and was prepared to fight.

In a very short time, three baby fish had come close enough to attack him.

As they were natural enemies, those fish were way more intimidating toward the jellyfish. Moreover, there was a hidden human spirit inside the body of this jellyfish.

The most important thing was that this jellyfish didn't have any powers to fight against its natural enemies! However, this weak jellyfish was absolutely different!

Sui Ziong smiled when he saw the white baring teeth of those fish, which were wanting to eat him up alive.

He reached out his hands to catch the spirit. He effortlessly caught spirits of two baby fishes and put them into his mouth.

After that, the third baby fish also followed its companion's footsteps.

The jellyfish, which Sui Xiong was possessing, was slightly bitten as the payment for what he had done.

Although it was just a small bite, it made him alert.

Despite the fact that he was much stronger than these baby fishes, not to mention that he could handle both at the same time, he only got two arms while the number of these baby fish were approximately over hundreds.

These three fish gave him a little feeling of paying the price for something. If these hundred fishes came up at the same time, what would happen then?

Sui Xiong was terrified. He looked around carefully then discovered that he was surrounded by a bunch of them.

"F**k! So many of them like this, how can I knock them out. What kind of hero is that! Let play an one-on-one match!" He couldn't stand but curse loudly.

It was really obvious that these baby fish were not heroes. In other words, they simply couldn't hear him or couldn't understand what he was saying.

Therefore, they were rushing in from four directions.

As Sui Xiong was too frightened, he didn't care about the 'eat' problem anymore. Instead, he chaotically swung his fists. He wanted to finish off all these damn baby fish.

In the meantime, three lights were flashing on the surface of the sea, fish scales and teeth had blended in with one another. A newborn water ghost was cursing nonstop.

After a while, the surface of the sea finally became calm again.

Sui Xiong was standing beside a floating baby fish corpse. He was choked up when he saw that his possessed body had been heavily damaged to the point that it had lost its jellyfish shape.

"I have just jumped space for a day and I've almost got killed. This world is indeed dangerous!"

After exclaiming for a while, Sui Xiong started to think what he should do next.

This jellyfish's body was indeed too weak. There was a joke on the internet, which said an otaku's fighting force only equaled to 0.5 of a goose's, but this jellyfish's fight force might be not as good as 0.1 of a goose's. Even though Sui Xiong's fighting force became invincible after he had turned into a water ghost, so far, he had just pulled out one direct strike whenever he met enemies (except for the giant single-horn whale). After all, he only got two arms, he couldn't protect himself from all four directions. These fish, which an entire school was not enough to fill up his stomach, could make him have such a hard time like this. If they got fiercer, then what was he going to deal with?

He of course wanted to get out of this useless body and changed to a mightier one. But temporarily he had no way to get out of this jellyfish's body, he just could only think of another alternative direction.

Sui Xiong helplessly looked at the dead bodies of the three baby fish.

These baby fishes' spirits had been eaten by him. However, their bodies were still fine. Theoretically saying, fish meat was all full of nutrition, which completely could fulfil the requirements of a jellyfish's body.

The problem was, how did it eat?

The question is: What does a jellyfish eat? Online, etc..., anxiously waiting.

But there is no internet...

Sui Xiong thought for a while, then brought a tentacle closer, to the dead fish to poke.

Jellyfish tentacles were its attacking weapon. Theoretically speaking, an attacking weapon was related to an eating tool, for example teeth and mouth.

But he discovered really quickly that the jellyfish tentacle basically couldn't hold that fish. No matter how hard Sui Xiong tried to control it, the tentacle couldn't poke through the solid fish scales.

"A bunch of food is in front of my eyes. But there is no way I can put it into my mouth. This is too tragic!" Sui Xiong murmured to himself. He didn't want to give up. He ordered the tentacle to poke the dead fish and tried to find an unprotected spot on the dead fish.

Hard work paid off, he finally found it.

The entire fish's body was covered in scales. But there was no scale inside its body. He just needed to put the tentacle into the fish's mouth then slowly poke through its body.

But, what should I do next?

Sui Xiong was drowned in his thoughts again.

Secrete digestive juices?

After several attempts, he didn't know whether a jellyfish was short of this kind of ability or his intelligence was limited. In short, it couldn't produce whatever secrete digestive juice.

Eat directly?

After another few attempts, he didn't know whether the jellyfish tentacle originally didn't have teeth or he lacked of intelligence. In short, it couldn't eat anything.

Facing a situation where 'mice trying to pull a turtle, it had no place to get a grip', Sui Xiong was pissed off.

"Today I don't believe in ghosts anymore! Being able to kill, but on the other hand, unable to eat? The meat has been already served but I can't eat!"

He struggled for a while then he finally dug out a small point of life experience from the deep place in his memory.

A glass of milk tea is put on the table. The lid won't open. Then how am I going to drink? Just put a straw in it.

Jellyfish tentacles can release poisons. Then it is definitely empty inside, which makes it look like a straw.

It is just that... The thought of putting a straw to suck stuffs inside of the fish's stomach made him feel nauseous.

This method was impossible.

Not to mention, there were tons of garbage inside the organs of the dead fish, which was all skin and bone.In the end, Sui Xiong still chose a compromise method, used all his force to put the tentacle into the fish as far as possible to eat raw fish.

Maybe the organs were more nutritious. But as soon as he thought of the stuffs inside of these organs, he couldn't help but feel nauseous.

It was also strange that fish meat was clearly solid, but what kind of suction could have made it dissolve into liquid, which made the absorption become easier? What kind of abilities did a jellyfish have? Must the jellyfish of this world be that capable?

Looking at his victories around, Sui Xiong thought for a second. All the credits of this eccentric phenomenon went to this abnormal world.

But then how would he use it?

Firstly, improve the moving speed. The jellyfish's swimming speed is indeed too slow!

But how can I maximize the moving speed?

Increase more fish scales? Maybe fish scales cannot completely solve the problem.

Add more tentacles? Or flatten the tentacles, make them look like paddles?

These ideas were not the good ones either...

Sui Xiong thought, thought then thought again, finally he got an idea.

He decided to give this jellyfish two propellers.

Propeller was a common stuff on earth. Its operating principle was not complicated either. Frankly saying, it was just a group of rotating leaves. Through the leaf rotation, the liquid would be directed to the other direction, resulting in a thrust to the reverse direction. This stuff could easily be found in the most common daily applications, which was an electric fan.

The air was good, the water was also good, the current could be considered good too--at least that was how they were in Sui Xiong's impression.

"I just need a solid roller, three firm leaves, and also an incredibly strong bearing." Sui Xiong muttered to himself, then took out the massive amount of nutrition stored inside of the jellyfish to constantly transform into a muscle structure, then repeated the cycle until he got his desired result.

After finding this method, he had spent most of his night time. But he still hadn't found out a correct method yet. The two manufactured propellers could only be used for a while.

The body of a living creature was indeed extremely miraculous. He just needed to have a relatively clear concept. Then the manufacturing process would be very simple and easy. He simply just wanted to do two things.

Designing then waiting.

Making the propellers rotate was not difficult. Simply put a force on the wheel then it would immediately work.

Maybe to a living creature, turning its own flesh into a constantly rotating wheel was an exceptionally painful matter. But Sui Xiong was not a jellyfish. No matter how badly this jellyfish's body might be damaged, he wouldn't let it suffer fromthe slightest pain.

Hence, the problem was solved, he had got a not-bad power system, which could be used to kill those fish.

To increase the moving speed, what should I do next?

Attack force? Defense force?

Sui Xiong considered for a moment, then put priority on the defense aspect.

He had possessed an invincible attacking trick. Until this moment, he hadn't discovered any fish that could handle his scary spirit-sucking attack. Therefore, what he needed to do was to amplify his only defense mechanism.

The first thing coming up in his mind was naturally the scales.

On earth, when going into war, soldiers liked to use a metal armor to protect themselves. Sui Xiong had also intended to create a solid armor ---- scales-----they were temporarily covering his body.

This idea was really good. But when he started to design the armor, he encountered another problem.

Jellyfish muscle fibers were not strong enough to repeat the scale formation.

It didn't lack of hardness. These scales and the bony propellers were fundamentally alike. They had the same weakness, which was lacking of "elasticity."

Sui Xiong had seen the military work before. He knew that a cool weapon didn't only need hardness but also elasticity. If he solely based on 'hardness-against-hardness' method to block the attack, it would just make the body directly absorb the attack force.

Therefore, the armor's elasticity was greatly important.

But it was impossible, he couldn't make the scales become elastic.

After confirming this point, he couldn't help but put aside this idea, concentrating on creating a solid shell.

This was much easier. He only needed to repetitively use the muscle fibers to create a barrier covering the bones, then form numerous anti-shock layers. That was it, everything was done.

Finally, he adjusted the jellyfish's shape.

When the giant Sun, which was way bigger than the one on Earth, started to set on the west, Sui Xiong also completed making temporary adjustments on this body.

The body had a water drop shape. The skin was thick and grey. There were a group of bone protection around the propellers on both sides of the body, which provided strong power for the body. Lastly, there were those slender tentacles at the end of the body. He originally wanted to strengthen the tentacles as well, but the nutrition was not enough, which he would deal with later.

No matter how hard he looked, it was just like a monster.
