Inside the Holy Church.

Even though many commoners were perpetually in hunger and could only live off tree bark and their strong faiths, the holy buildings were still lavishly decorated. The golden embossed patterns on the building almost blinded the onlookers' eyes.

The Bishop pointed his scepter at a side room. "The three of you, be prepared to be bathed in Holy Light and proceed to the church."

Eighteen Massacres scrutinized Lin Jie carefully before he entered the church with the other two people.

Lin Jie was puzzled. Why did this formidable and respectable-looking Bishop call him in here?

"You have seen Yatasha before?" asked the Bishop in an energetic voice. He sounded like a man in his prime.

"Yes, and there is a misunderstanding between us," Lin Jie replied in a resigned tone and pointed to the name above his head.

The Bishop chuckled. "I can help you with this. You will bring three people to me, and I will lift Yatasha's curse for you in return."

Mission description: You shall help to find Sister Lily, Sister Linlin, Priest Yatasha and bring the three of them to Holy Light Town.

However, the real challenge was in locating Yatasha. That impudent girl seemed to be always roaming about in the world before she became the Priest Hero. She might even turn up at the Tribe of Darkness just to save some people.

After receiving the mission, Lin Jie left the Holy Church.

As the Holy Church was the legal ruling class of the Guild of Light, it ruled over many lands in the game. It was not an easy task to locate two nuns within such a great area. Lin Jie tried logging into the players' forum to see if he could find any news of these two nuns. However, there were simply too many posts about looking for NPCs in the forum, and it did not help that most of them circled around the topics of hidden NPCs. This hindered Lin Jie's search greatly.

For one full hour, he could not find any news about the two nuns.

Lin Jie creased his forehead and limited his search terms to 'Holy Light Town.' This time, he finally managed to get something that seemed more useful.

The Holy Light Town was a popular place among many of the Paladins, Priests, and Mages. This was because the townsfolk of this town all followed the religion of the Holy Light. Paladins, Priests, and Mages who were granted some nobility authority could get many discounts and privileges off their spendings in this town, as they shared the same religion as the townsfolk.

After searching for a long time, Lin Jie finally got certain about a fact—due to a plot mission, this map had undergone a series of changes.

There were many types of missions, for example, day-to-day, plot, sub-plot missions… Other than missions which were related to the game's main plot, the map's main plot-type of missions would also reward players the most handsomely. This type of missions could affect a whole map's framework and even cause changes to it.

In Lin Jie's previous life, one of the most famous map's main plot-type of mission had been the Giants Kingdom map mission.

In The New Age, the lands were originally divided into three regions, and the three groups of rulers were equal in power—the Guild of Light, the Tribe of Darkness and the Giants Kingdom. However, as the game's plot developed, the Guild of Light and Tribe of Darkness grew stronger and combined their forces miraculously to overpower the Giants Kingdom. Thus, the Giants Kingdom's map became a map of resources for the players—in fact, they could even come here to get Giants and sell them off as slaves.

If the two did not combine forces to suppress it, the Giants Kingdom would become a warring map, and players would be given warring-related missions on the map.

The Holy Light Town had been through a battle which changed the whole town's structure. There seemed to be a conflict within the Holy Church's management, which resulted in the town's difficulty levels range being raised to Level 10-15, instead of the original Level 1-5. The monsters were no longer the normal cats or dogs suitable for newbies to try their hands on, but Friars who rebelled against the Holy Church.

When Lin Jie teleported to the Holy Light Town, the golden-haired Priest who was in charge of protecting the teleportation circle smiled kindly at him.

"Welcome, brave Warrior."

Flames of war engulfed the small Holy Light Town. One could see Priests healing Warriors everywhere… and all of them were ladies! Yes, that's right—no matter if they were Paladins, Warriors or Bandits who were in charge of recon duties, all of them were ladies. Every single of them had super great figures. Just looking around, one could see a female Bandit kneeling down and using the telescope, her hips up in the air. Her hot body was wrapped tightly in a leather armor suit and the way she positioned herself due to her duty, woohoo, wow…

Lin Jie shook his head, clearing all unrelated thoughts as he walked towards the outskirts of the town. The Holy Light Town was divided into two sections, and just like that of South Korea and North Korea, there was a military demarcation zone between both sections.

Lin Jie walked along the military demarcation zone and searched for the two nuns. Along the way, he met rebels donning torn and tattered Friar robes, who were healing their friends' wounds with healing spells for one another.

Suddenly, Lin Jie caught sight of a person, a nun that was holding tightly to a piece necklace and was in the process of healing the injured. The necklace gave off chaste bright Holy Light—it seemed like an extraordinary item.

'Is the Bishop trying to get his hands on that necklace?' Lin Jie pondered, while he thought of ways to bring the nun back to the Bishop. As he watched her continuing her work, he got an inspiration and developed a plan.

Lin Jie took out the Withered Leaf Sword. Broken Blade's attributes were greatly limited by the seals on them. As for now, using this Gold weapon would be more practical.

Coincidentally, a wounded Paladin was lying down somewhere near the military demarcation zone. Lin Jie walked to a corner beside her and squatted down silently, waiting for Sister Lily to approach them.

Sister Lily wiped off the perspiration on her forehead. She walked to the Paladin while chanting the Healing Spell on the way.

A great healing figure appeared, but the Paladin's health bar only increased by about one-tenth.

"You will heal in no time." Sister Lily smiled and continued the healing process in a gentle manner.

Lin Jie neared her in the next instant. However, Sister Lily was immune to the normal stunned effects caused by Forward Charge. Lin Jie turned his wrist deftly around and aimed the Withered Leaf Sword directly at her bosom. The nun backed off in shock but was still stabbed by the Withered Leaf Sword and its blade aura. She was hurt by 130 points! The Withered Leaf Sword struck its target consecutively for the next few moments.

Sister Lily was actually a pure healing NPC who did not have any attack powers! Under Lin Jie's skillful control, her regen abilities were being interrupted and could only witness her health bar depleted rapidly.

"Let go of her!" The wounded Paladin struggled to stand up with her restored strength and took up her longsword shakily. Lin Jie returned with a strike and stabbed through her body. With Havoc and a series of consecutive normal strikes, his rage points increased by a huge amount.

Lily had just steadied herself when she saw the Paladin in danger. She immediately started chanting the healing spells, in a bid to save her again.

The Paladin's health bar emptied, and she dropped lifelessly down to the ground.

"No!" Sister Lily cried aloud sorrowfully. However, Lin Jie did not stop his actions. The Withered Leaf Sword stabbed towards her throat. Though Lily was upset, she had not forgotten to use her regen abilities on herself!

Outraged Roar!

Lin Jie interrupted her healing spells and stabbed consecutively with the Withered Leaf Sword, and finally emptied her health bar.

As Sister Lily was the target of this mission, she would not die. Her health points were decreased minimally to 1 point, and she fainted. Her necklace dropped to the ground.

"This is great equipment, no wonder the Bishop was eyeing it." Lin Jie carried Lily in his arms and looked around.

'Sister Linlin most probably will be hiding somewhere in the heartland area of the town. I should bring this nun to the Bishop first.'

The Bishop was already waiting at the town's entrance. When he saw Lin Jie, he opened his arms in delight, "Haha, young Warrior, you are indeed very efficient."

"Of course," Lin Jie carried the nun in one arm and held her necklace in the other hand. The Bishop led him to the town's convent, and after going through a series of winding passageways, they actually reached… the cellar.

'Perhaps he doesn't want anyone to see him nabbing equipment from others,' surmised Lin Jie. He placed the unconscious Lily onto the table, held the necklace in his hands and smiled. "Bishop, is this what you want?"

The Bishop didn't even spare Lin Jie a glance, much less to say the necklace. His eyes were fixed on Lily. Her eyes were closed, and her cheeks were stained with droplets of blood from the fight before. Sister Lily's eyelashes trembled slightly in her sleep, giving off vulnerable yet determined vibes. With her slightly torn and loose Friar's robes, she looked alluring and would provoke any man's desires.

"So… beautiful," the Bishop rubbed his hands and caressed her body. He sniffed her cheeks, seeming to forget that there was another bystander in the room.

"Smack-" The Bishop actually planted a kiss on the unconscious nun!

Lin Jie gaped at this scene. 'Wtf, this Bishop… he's a lecher!?'

When Lin Jie thought back to the provocatively dressed ladies in Holy Light Town, the terrible fates of the "betrayers", and the mission at Holy Light Town, he started to put two and two together. Then, he made a hypothesis: perhaps the Bishop wanted the ladies in town to serve him, and thus invoked the rage of some followers, who stood up against him. However, using his authority and powers, the Bishop brainwashed all those who remained and turned the town's missions to be a war of faiths between the "betrayed" and the "justified." He then made use of players to help him attack those who dared to stand up against him. That's why Lin Jie witnessed that scenario just now.

Sister Lily might be one of the few people who managed to escape from the Bishop's evil clutches and was not brainwashed!

"Wtf…" Lin Jie cursed silently under his breath. All of these leaders were indeed just plain scumbags! On the surface, they appeared to be noble and wise, yet engaged in such unscrupulous acts in the dark!

"Stop!"

Seeing that the Bishop was about to invade Lily, Lin Jie shouted out in anger.

The Bishop caught himself and finally seemed to recall that a redundant bloke was standing beside him. He coughed dryly and asked in a low voice, "What do you want?"

Lin Jie furrowed his brows, took out the Withered Leaf Sword and ordered, "Release her!"

The Bishop raised his brows and chuckled. "Do you think that's possible?"

His scepter flew up to the air as if looking down on Lin Jie. This was just a mere Warrior who had not changed his job, what harm could he do to him?

Whoosh!

A gust of blade aura sliced through the air and slit across the Bishop's face.

"Blade aura? From the Wind Rider Sword Saint?" The Bishop blinked, and his name was revealed above his head.
