Reincarnation of the Cheater 36 Duel

"Sir your opponent is ready for the Duel." The man from earlier says through the door.

getting off the couch I quickly decide on a word to save and head out into the hall.

Seeing that I came out he beckons me to follow him without speaking and leads me back to the main hallway. This time though we went through the large door at the end of the hallway which led to the entrance of the platform.

"Your opponent is currently waiting for you to arrive, please follow the path and walk up the platform stairs." he says pointing towards the stairs while taking his leave.

'Alright then, I'll use the silver sword so I don't rely on LostVayne too much.' I say while grabbing the silver sword and hand it on my hip.

As I'm walking through the path the audience gets considerably louder and louder with their cheering. Maybe the guy I'm fighting is famous? As I get up on the platform the audience gets even louder and as I look around I notice some kind of runes along the edges of the platform until finally, my opponent comes into view. He has Mahogany brown curly hair with dark brown eyes. He seems to be around 6 foot and his outfit showcases his muscular body with a black shirt and loose pants. His gaze shows he's sizing me up as he starts talking.

"You better get ready because I'm not going easy on you. I've been told you're a super rookie and can fight above levels so don't expect any mercy until you forfeit. I'm also being paid very well so I intend to do my job well." The man says as his brown eyes shine in the sunlight.

"What happens if I win?" I say while checking out his status.

"I haven't been told anything about that." He says while a spear appears in his hands out of nowhere.

'Seems like he has something like my inventory but it wasn't in his skills. Is it like a space ring from wuxia novels, or is it like a magic bag from RPGs.'

As I reach for the silver sword at my waist he starts rushing me with his spear and thrusts as he gets close to me. As he closes in on me the runes at the edges of the platform start radiating a faint light. As the runes get brighter a thin light blue barrier appears and slowly encases the entire platform in the shape of a dome. Seeing as he has no reaction to this I decide that it won't affect me and probably isn't that important and proceed to move my sword to receive the hit.

"As I thought I couldn't get you off your guard," he says while assuming an attack stance and strikes with his spear again.

Slashing the silver sword at his spear sparks fly as our two weapons clash for a little bit until he starts pushing me back as he puts more strength into his spear. At the sight of the fight starting again, the crowd goes wild with cheering and chanting for Shin.

"It seems I have more physical strength than you." he says as he rushes forwards leaving behind afterimages as he runs towards me at a high speed.

Seeing as all his physical stats are higher than mine I decided to use word magic to shorten the gap.

'Harden' Writing the word harden on my fist I dodge the incoming spear and swing my fist as hard as I could only to barely do any damage. Judging from his reaction it did do damage but it wasn't enough to affect him.

'Shock' Writing the word shock on my sword I slash at him as he tries to block my sword. Upon the clash of our weapons sparks of lightning radiates from my sword flowing through his spear electrocuting him. As the sparks slow down his reaction time I make another slash at his chest but he recovers from the paralization and tries to move out of the way only to get a clean cut across his arm in return for his efforts. The wound itself looks burnt due to being electrocuted by the shock effect.

'This magic is really interesting.'

'Speed' I quickly write the word speed as the shock effect disappears and decide to place it on my legs I dash behind him at an even faster speed than him as he could barely react to me as I proceeded to slash at his chest. Backing off to decide my next course of action I withdraw my blade that is covered in blood. As I swipe my sword through the air the blood comes right off and splatters on the floor. At this time I decide to look at the system and notice some notifications.

'Ah, I forgot to try that out.' Putting away my sword I decide to fight with my fists from now on,

"I underestimated you without even trying." He says as he gets up as his body regenerates at a speed visible to the eye.

"It's time for round 2. Prepare yourself." He says with a determined look on his face as he puts the spear away and takes out a sword and encased it in mana. Due to the adrenaline running in me I didn't even notice the sounds of the crowd throughout the fight as I get ready for his real assault.
