Xia Liang's hair stood up, soo did her tail.

It was a cat's subconscious reaction when it was startled. She had no control of it.

"Liang, don't be afraid. It's alright. I will protect you." Ji Yue stroked her hair and kissed on her little head.

Xia Liang felt a little hot in her ear, so she couldn't help scratching it with her little paw. This man had a nice voice which made her ear kind of itchy.

"Come on. How can you have time to comfort a cat!" Nangong Ze rushed at the door and opened it. When he didn't see Ji Yue behind him, he rolled his eyes at him. He couldn't understand Ji Yue.

"Let's go. There is no rush since she is already dead." Ji Yue stood up together with Xia Liang and said calmly.

It was Xiaomei.

A maid who showed some kind of affection to Ji Yue.

She fell down from the roof. The roof was only three-story high. She wouldn't die immediately if she didn't fall with her head down.

Unluckily, she fell down on a sticking-out steal iron rod in the backyard.

Her head was pierced through by the rod because of gravity and the rod poked out through her right eye.

Her face was ruined. There was blood and brains everywhere on the ground, looking pretty scary.

Servants screamed when they saw this. They even puked.

Xia Liang was not scared. But it was really not pleasant to look at. So she looked away once she had a quick look at it.

"Don't walk around or get close to the body. Just wait here. Do you get it?" As Ji Yue needed to get a closer look at Xiaomei's body, he had to put her on the ground and told her so.

"Meow!" I know.

Xia Liang wagged her little tail and nodded her cat head at Ji Yue like a good cat.

"My good girl." Ji Yue smiled and complimented Xia Liang before he walked toward Xiaomei's body.

Xia Liang wagged her tail and listened to Ji Yue's suggestion. She just took a short stroll around. 

"Woof!" Liang, come over.

Suddenly, Xia Liang heard someone was calling her, not, it was dog actually.

Xia Liang turned around and saw a German Shepherd barking at her from a distance, wagging its tail quickly.

"Meow!" Are you calling me?

Xia Liang ran over and asked.

Was this dog a friend of the original cats'?

She traced back the original cat's memory and found out they were actually good friends. The dog had a surprisingly cute name, Benben.

"Woof!" Liang, listen, I saw someone pushing Xiaomei off the roof.

Xia Liang was shocked and asked, "Meow!" What?! Benben, who did that? Tell me.

"Woof! Woof!" It was too high and far to recognize the face. I only saw a man in black.

"Meow!" Did you hear anything?

Xia Liang petted his nose with his little paw to comfort him.

"Meow." We should go check the horse ranch in the evening to see if we can find anything about your master. You once smelt him there, didn't you?

"Woof." Great. Deal!

Benben jumped to his feet with joy and barked with excitement. But he lied down on his belly soon after he realized that he was still on a leash.

"Woof!" I am tied here. I can't get out of here.

Xia Liang compared the giant iron chain with her little paw. She was worried too.
