After the dark-skinned young man shouted, the five young men before him released their spirit force. Various colors of light flashed from their bodies.

The dark-skinned young man didn't make a move, he just waited for Zhao Jiuge's reaction. He considered Zhao Jiuge the biggest threat, and he was not worried about Miao Yuehua escaping. As for Ling Bo Re, he believed her to merely be a decorative vase.

Seeing the five people making a move, Zhao Jiuge couldn't help but sneer. With a two-realm difference, those five people moved like snails to him. This also made him understand how he must look before those more powerful cultivators.

Originally, Zhao Jiuge wanted to see what was different about witchcraft, but the moment he saw spirit light, he lost all interest. All cultivation in the world was based around spirit force, the difference was merely how it was used.

Silver light flashed. Zhao Jiuge didn't even use his true power, he simply swiped a few times, relying merely on the sharpness of his Cold Underworld Sword.

Miao Yuehua and the dark-skinned young man were dumbfounded as they watched Zhao Jiuge put his sword back in its sheath. All of this was done in the blink of an eye for those two.

The silver light fell and the five people that were moving suddenly froze while maintaining their posture.

The dark-skinned young man was terrified and was about to ask what was wrong with the five of them. However, his eyes immediately widened because he noticed that their vitality was completely gone and he couldn't even see the wounds.

However, he didn't notice that there were several small sword marks on their abdomens. There were wounds there, but there was also a thin layer of scarlet ice covering each wound. This was why there was no blood. The ice was caused by the cold attribute in Zhao Jiuge's spirit force. 

At this moment, the five bodies fell to the ground and kicked up a layer of dust. Although they had fallen to the ground, they still maintained their previous postures.

The dark-skinned young man looked at Zhao Jiuge like he had seen a ghost, his face filled with horror. He didn't expect this young man to easily kill the five people he had brought with him.

Miao Yuehua's eyes shined, showing worship for Zhao Jiuge. She had seen powerful cultivators, but not one this young. After all, their witchcraft couldn't compare to the three orthodox factions.

Only Ling Bo Re looked at Zhao Jiuge with a hint of coldness. His swift and smooth movements didn't show any signs of injuries.

“You… You… Who are you!? Don't you dare to mess around. I'm from the Ye family from the Barbarian Forest.” Seeing Zhao Jiuge kill his five subordinates, the dark-skinned young man couldn't even speak clearly.

The Hundred Thousand Mountain Range belonged to the barbarian land and was not as prosperous as the 13 provinces of the Huaxia Dynasty. The Miao ethnicity was an ethnic minority like the Barbarians. They were divided into several families, and the Ye family was the one with the largest influence.

“Why should I care who you are? I hate vicious people like you the most.”

Facing the threat, Zhao Jiuge revealed a dmissive smile. As long as he was determined, no external factors or threats would change his mind.

Forget the bird shit that was the Hundred Thousand Mountain Range, he wasn't even afraid of the Qing Province's Liu family. However, Zhao Jiuge didn't know that he would go to that bird shit of a place in the future and find himself in an unexpected situation!

Seeing the people that had bitterly pursued her for more than a month killed so easily, Miao Yuehua felt relief but also a lingering sense of fear. She felt that Zhao Jiuge was pretty strong and handsome. She also saw that he had mental strength and was decisive in his actions!

After doing all of this, Zhao Jiuge turned his gaze toward Miao Yuehue. As for killing six people, he didn't feel anything—there was no burden after killing scum like this.

Seeing Zhao Jiuge look over, Miao Yuehua revealed a bright smile, revealing small dimples. Her bright eyes shined and she took the initiative to say, “Elder Brother, thanks for saving me.”

Miao Yuehua gave off youthful vitality, which caused Zhao Jiuge to become startled. Perhaps he was more used to the gentle and subtle nature of the women from the Huaxia Dynasty. He was not used to facing the lively, direct ethnic minority women.

Zhao Jiuge was startled and didn't know what to say when he noticed Ling Bo Re's cold gaze from the corner of his eye. He suddenly realized that things weren't good and that he had exposed his own lie. It was like lifting a stone and smashing it on his own feet.

Ling Bo Re was silent, but this was just the calm before the storm, and Zhao Jiuge knew that the storm was coming. As a result, he lost any interest in talking more with Miao Yuehua.

“You should head back now, there should be no more people chasing you. Pay attention to your own safety in this wilderness,” Zhao Jiuge said lightly. It was already very kind of him to save her. There was no way he would send her home.

Hearing this, Miao Yuehua became anxious and said she wasn't in a rush to go home. Then, after hearing the story from Miao Yuehua, Zhao Jiuge understood the situation.

She had always been treated like the jewel of the family and had never suffered like this before. However, she was helpless because her grandfather was in closed door cultivation and her father had disappeared several years ago. However, she felt that her father was not dead and was still alive—he just couldn't come back due to some accident.

After hearing everything, Zhao Jiuge silently pondered. He could kill those scum and help Miao Yuehua, but he couldn't fix her situation. This was still her family affair, and he couldn't just help everyone he met.

Zhao Jiuge let out a sigh and spoke slowly, a hint of guilt on his face, “You have to be more careful in the future. If you can't go home for now, then continue down the road and head to the other province. I believe that no matter how powerful the Liu family is, their influence won't reach that far.”

Ling Bo Re remained silent and coldly watched all of this. She had already decided to teach Zhao Jiuge a lesson after.

“It is fate that has allowed us to meet. Elder Brother doesn't have to worry about me, I'll go back home eventually. I just need to wait for my grandfather to come out of closed-door cultivation,  then no one will dare to make a move against me. Can I know Elder Brother's name? I need to know who to thank for saving me.”

Miao Yuehua changed from her weak self and spoke in a sweet voice. She stared at Zhao Jiuge with a burning gaze; there was no subtlety with her.

Zhao Jiuge was a bit shocked. He didn't expect her to have this temperament. He smiled and faintly said, “Zhao Jiuge.”

For some reason, Miao Yuehua didn't ask for Ling Bo Re's name. Perhaps it was carelessness, or perhaps it was something else. She couldn't help but look at Ling Bo Re and then back at herself.

“Okay, take care of yourself. We still have important matters to attend to, so we'll leave now.” After Zhao Jiuge gave his name, he wanted to leave. He was still thinking about how to explain to Ling Bo Re why he had lied about his injuries!

“Wait, Elder Brother, is this your woman? She is very pretty.”

Miao Yuehue was looking at Ling Bo Re when she suddenly asked his question. This caused Zhao Jiuge to break out in cold sweat. He was afraid of Ling Bo Re erupting in anger.

Zhao Jiuge just wanted to speak to explain, but Ling Bo Re was the one who spoke, shocking Zhao Jiuge. Normally, Ling Bo Re would just ignore this kind of question.

“I'm not.”

Afterward, even Ling Bo Re was shocked at herself. It was not like her to act like this. It seemed like after being with Zhao Jiuge for so long, she was subtly changing without realizing it.

Miao Yuehue smiled and was about to leave. Her laughter echoed like a bell and she waved her hand. “Trying to explain it means you're trying to cover it up. I'll take my leave first, Elder Brother. If fate allows it, we'll meet again. If you have time, come to the Hundred Thousand Mountain Range to play with me.”

Hearing this, Zhao Jiuge's expression became a bit strange. He secretly looked at Ling Bo Re's expression but didn't notice anything abnormal.

Bright, yellow light shined and the yellow flying boat appeared. Since Zhao Jiuge's injuries had healed, there was no need to travel on foot. They were going to fly back to the Ten Thousand Dao Sect.

As for the bodies on the official road, there was no need for them to worry about it. While the flying boat flew away, Miao Yuehua stared at the two figures on the boat.

After the flying boat disappeared completely, Miao Yuehua pursed her lips and thought about Zhao Jiuge. For some reason, she felt like she was going to see him again in the future. She  didn't know why she had this feeling. Perhaps everything would be clear in the future. The gods had their own plans.

1. The phrase she used here is like “big brother,” or basically just a way to call an older male, but the words chosen are kind of region-specific, to show she is from a different culture.
