Gate Guardian - Song of the Frozen Soul 42 WRATH OF THE FAKE GOD

No doubt, the one who killed my friends is this devil. Diadem Solstice, Tiara's lost twin. This revelation means that I will never welcome him with open arms.

Diadem positioned his blade towards his left, and the blade glowed with flames. I made a centered kendo stance to prepare myself for his attack.

But then, several deafening gunshots echoed throughout the place!

"Alaric, run!" Mr. Kent shouted as he cocked his shotgun and fired again and again to the Cursed Guardian. But alas, no weapon existing in the Earth Realm can hurt that person. All the shotgun shrapnels were converted to dust as it hit Diadem's skin.

The black swordsman turned his attention to my teacher, and then he launched a swift spell with his burning sword! "!!!" Diadem shouted. At once, a flame tornado drill went to Mr. Kent!

"! When the castle wall faded, it revealed another Cursed Guardian. But he is not the enemy.

"I'm sorry, Diadem Solstice." The Outsider smirked. "I made a promise to the Prophet that I shall have his fate changed. I shall see to it that no other innocent victims shall die in this day."

"You..." Diadem finally talked. His voice was so deep that it sounds demonic.

"Your enemy is here!" I shouted as a made a dazzling hack aiming his chest!

But he was able to step back and evade my attack. I followed it with another thrust and spinning slash, but he either parried or evaded it with ease. Then he kicked me straight to my jaw that made me flinch.

It didn't hurt at all! I wiped the blood from my lip as I gave him the stare with an intent to murder.

"I'll kill you!" I continued my deathly glare at the killer swordsman. Suddenly, his eyes widened, as if he was suddenly induced with fear.

I noticed that my body has been followed by silver particles of light. At last, my chest pain finally faded. My heart can finally handle the power of the gray Quintessence that the Outsider gave me!

My hatred for Diadem consumed my mind and soul.

A beam of light from the heavens surged to my body. Immense strength entered my veins and prana circuits. My brain processors increased by a thousandfold. Hairs all over my body stood up for being electrocuted. And the next thing I realize, I was already a new cosmic being.

Black wings of a dragon emerged from my back. My left shoulder spawned ten elastic tentacles that are similar to those of a squid. My arms and legs have been covered by dragon scales. There was a huge red eye that emerged from my chest. And my katana now have become thicker that made it look more like a broadsword.

"I'll… kill… you… Diadem!!!"

I made a warcry that made the earth tremble.

That evil swordsman didn't waste any second. He charged his red sword with red flames and made a quick tri-slash to the air, which resulted into crescent burning projectiles! "!!!"

I used my sword and made blinding slices in the burning air to completely nullify the spell. But the enemy didn't end there. He stabbed his sword once again and created a whirling flame drill! It was another ! In the nick of time, I shielded myself with my wings!

There was a loud burst and the flesh of my wings has been completely scattered in the highway. It did sting a little when my wings were completely blown off. But I worry not, for they will regenerate. It's one of Lord Cthulhu's godly powers.

"Diadem!!!" I cried. I'm so focused on my goal that I couldn't say any word else.

In an instant, I used my tentacles to grab that wretched man in his neck, and I slammed it to the ground, over and over until there are about ten mini craters in this highway.

He got enough, so he used his sword to cut my tentacles off. Then he jumped and tumbled backward to make the distance.

I used my fully regenerated wings to gain altitude, and the gigantic eye on my chest glowed. It charged a mini sun composed of crimson flames!

"!!!" The gigantic flame bomb surged forward, but it was immediately cut by the cursed swordsman!

As the ball of flames was cut in half, everything went dazzling bright due to the sudden explosion!

A mushroom cloud made a deafening shock wave, that destroyed all the glasses in the area. Trees swayed, and dust became a sandstorm. The wind pressure was enough to turn the flames of the burning house off.

When the thick smoke faded, my eyes saw the white-haired Cursed Guardian panting, as if it was his limit. But he still has the guts to stand up.

"This will be my final attack," Diadem muttered as he charged a dark energy on his left hand. "!!!"

The orb he's cultivating in his hand went bigger and bigger until it was at the same size of a car! The gravitational pull is so immense that my wings are no match for it!

I was easily drawn by the gigantic orb until I reached the core of the black hole. I was helplessly paralyzed, in the middle of darkness.

The light of his blazing sword appeared in front of me. Diadem levitated and hovered towards me. I can't move my hands, feet, wings, or even my tentacles.

All I can do is to stare at him with the intent to kill.

Suddenly, the Cursed Guardian stabbed me in my heart. In just a matter of a second, I got consumed by flames. My internal organs got toasted, and my skin has been charred.

It hurts! It hurts so much! But I can't scream!

But I can't die...

"Impossible!" Diadem had his eyes wide open once again. He may have burned my heart, my lungs, and my brains, but it will keep regenerating! In my Fake God form, it is impossible to kill me. I am Lord Cthulhu, and the concept of death does not apply to me!

When the is finally gone, it's my turn to kill him!

My eyes glowed and it made a red flash straight to his face! He screamed in pain as he falls on his knees and dropped his sword!

He should know that anyone who sees the eye of Cthulhu shall suffer from temporary insanity!

"Aaaaargh!" He covered his head like a helpless battered beggar. Now it's his turn to suffer from excruciating pain!

I positioned my katana on top of his nape, ready to chop his neck.

"My name. Is. Alaric. Eisenhower. And I. Will have. My revenge!!!"

There was a swift yet gentle wind pressure that made me launch up in the air! I flapped my wings to regain my balance in the atmosphere. And then the next person I saw made me astounded.

Between me and the lawless killer is a beautiful shrine maiden. I could not see her expression because her hair covers her eyes. She spread her arms, silently saying that I should go through her corpse first before I can hurt her twin.

"Why did you stop me?" I coldly glared at her. "...Tiara…"

"Please stop, Rikkun!" Tiara cried. Tears flowed endlessly on her cheeks. "My twin brother… My twin brother didn't know what he's doing!"

"Tia...ra?..." Suddenly, the black swordsman muttered.

"Y-You know me, Diadem?" Tiara looked at his wounded brother. "D-Don't worry, your sister will protect you…"

"I-It's really you… Tiara…" the silver-haired swordsman smiled with tears of joy. "I spent.. all my life.. just to find you again… my beautiful sister…"

Diadem's temporary insanity is wearing off! I have to finish him right now!

"Stand aside, Tiara!!!" I shouted. "!!!"

A giant nuclear orb surged to their direction, but Tiara didn't have any plan in moving aside! She's thinking to catch it with her bare hands!

Diadem didn't waste any time, as he immediately swiped his hands and opened a Gate. There was a blinding flash of light, and then… the genocidal maniac was no longer there.

"DIADEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEM!!!" I cried in full anger. After stressing my vocal chords, I bowed silently.

The wretched killer got away, without paying for his sins dearly.

All my hatred was transferred to the maiden in front of me.
