Hearing He Di’s request, Feng Ming felt a sense of wariness, and Rong Hu stared at the man doubtfully. Both tried to figure out if anything suspicious was hidden within his words.

How could they have known about the series of events that occurred between He Di and Zi Yan?

Understanding his Prince’s thoughts, Kong Liu unhurriedly added, “While fighting the pirates, if one is lacking in manpower, the situation can become incredibly dangerous. If Duke Ming has not heard of news regarding his subordinate after a such a long time, there is a possibility he has encountered an unfortunate circumstance. If this Zi Yan were to be assigned the role as emissary, our Prince can immediately send an urgent letter to Dan Lin’s palace, ordering the navy to search the vicinity of our territory’s waters…”

Everyone present considered his words seriously. None of them could think of any disadvantages that would come from stationing Zi Yan in Dan Lin as an envoy. Even though they felt reluctant, maintaining a friendly connection would give both sides plenty of benefits. Since they have to send someone over, why not him?

After thinking for a while, Feng Ming finally agreed, “Alright, give me the pen.”

Rong Hu handed over the pen and ink as someone spread out both copies of the peace treaty in front of Feng Ming to sign.

“Duke Ming,” Kong Liu said, “since we have come to an agreement, we should include the name of the emissary on the treaty. This way, our Prince can use the documentation to provide a reason for issuing out an order to search and protect the special envoy.”

His words were really tempting to Feng Ming, and provided him with a larger motivation to make Zi Yan the envoy.

Although Rong Hu still felt a sense of unease, finding the whereabouts of the missing Zi Yan would benefit their side more than Dan Lin. After all, the influence Dan Lin has over their territory’s waters was powerful. Wouldn’t it be good if Zi Yan were protected under Dan Lin’s royalty? His position would give him a hundred times more influence than now.

With a serious expression, Feng Ming signed his name on both treaties. Since he didn’t carry his seal around with him, he used the ink slab to create an imprint of his thumb on the document as a substitute.

Rong Hu kept one treaty while the other went to Kong Liu.

After Kong Liu returned to his ship, He Di opened up the peace treaty and quickly wrote,

“The position of emissary will be held by Zi Yan.”

Imagining that proud man falling into his hands and following him back to Dan Lin made the thing between his legs twitch. He threw his head back and began laughing merrily.

(ED note: Lol, he’s such a psycho.)( TN : Lol! Agreed!)

“Our peace treaty has been completed! Thank you, Duke Ming.” He Di handed the document over to Kong Liu for safe-keeping and cupped his hands towards Feng Ming before taking his leave. “We are heading to the Tong Kingdom after this. Duke Ming and I may meet each other again while there. In time, Duke Ming will understand how sincere Dan Lin is.”

The ship’s flag waved an order to depart. All of Dan Lin’s fleet broke formation and sped away.

Feng Ming was in a daze after signing the treaty. Standing on the deck, he watched as the silhouettes of the ships withdrew, seemingly lost in thought.

Tonight’s strange events really makes a person feel perplexed. The bloody battle and the ship getting destroyed piece by piece were unexpectedly followed by a peaceful signing of a treaty.

Suddenly he remembered something and quickly asked Rong Hu, “Where did you hide Chiu Lan and the others?”

RH: “Young lord doesn’t have to worry about those girls. Inside the cabin on the second floor, this subordinate had left several sword masters to protect them. Just now, during the confrontation, seeing that no enemies were near, I had ordered someone to take the girls safely ashore on a small boat.”

Feng Ming nodded, feeling relieved.

On board the ship, men who were severely wounded could be seen all over the place.  Going ashore would be best for their safety.

Luo Deng had been paying attention to the direction Dan Lin’s fleet went. Seeing that they were truly leaving, his mind felt at ease. Sweat could be seen all over his body as he asked Feng Ming for further instructions.

“Young lord, we have to dock as soon as possible. The ship cannot remain afloat for much longer.”

Luo Yun spoke up, “This Prince of Dan Lin is not a good character. In the future, we should pay him back for the wrong he has done us.”
