Hey guys! Chapter 56 right here 😀 Hope you all enjoy

Chapter 56

Feng Chen’s office in Lin City is located in the CBD. Tall buildings surround them. In the middle of these tall buildings, there is also a plaza. Next to the plaza, there are only a few luxury good stores, gorgeous and deserted. Mu Han Xia follows Lin Mo Chen from a distance and watches as he goes through the plaza. Somehow, she doesn’t want to call out to him.

*(CBD is Central Business District)

He buys a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

He holds the coffee in both hands as he stands next to the plaza, his overcoat black, demeanor graceful, and expression distant.

Today the plaza can actually be considered to be somewhat lively. There is a group of young people skateboarding. They have even placed a speaker next to them, and are playing music with a cheerful rhythm. They skate around and laugh, and the dim light of the night also seems to become lively.

Mu Han Xia secretly maneuvers around him to stand on the step on the stairs behind him. This feeling is really soft, looking at the person you loved.

He does not sense her presence whatsoever and just continues to slowly drink his coffee. Mu Han Xia gazes at his back, takes out her phone, and sends him a text: “What’s up?”

He takes out his phone and his fingers jump around.

“Thinking of you.”

Mu Han Xia is standing behind a column and she tries not to smile. She replies, “Really sweet mouth.”

“What are you doing?” He replies again.

“Oh, I’m not like you who has the spare time to think of other people, I’m busy with some serious matters. I can’t chat much longer.”

After sending off the text, she pokes her head out from behind the pillar and discovers that he has raised the cellphone to his ear. At the same time, the cellphone on her sharply and clearly begins ringing.

Mu Han Xia: “… …”

Lin Mo Chen quickly puts down the phone, turns his head around and sees a woman’s head poking out from the steps above.

He smiles as he walks along the steps of the stairs. “Serious matters? So you like spying on me?”

Mu Han Xia makes a cutting noise, then spreads her arms and hugs him. “I’m just giving you a surprise, okay?”

His body has an obvious smell of alcohol so it seems like he drank a lot. Mu Han Xia suddenly feels distressed for no reason, hugging him silently without speaking.

Both of them sit down next to the stairs, and Lin Mo Chen continues to calmly drink his coffee. After a while, Mu Han Xia rests her head down in his lap. He lowers his head and looks at her, then gently reaches his hand out to caress her face. Mu Han Xia feels his slender fingers sliding around on her own face, and she stays motionless.

Not far away, the skateboarding kids are still jumping around. The music makes people unable to remain down.

At an unknown time, it begins to snow. Under the deep and misty sky, little snowflakes float down gently before them. Mu Han Xia reaches out her hand to catch them and smiles. Lin Mo Chen watches the snow calmly.

The kids skateboarding start to celebrate. They are also a pretty interesting group of people, switching the music to something softer. After, they pair up, stand on their skateboards and begin to ballroom dance. Some of them are probably lovers, and just directly fall into each others arms and begin kissing, swaying slowly underneath the falling snow.

“Let’s go dance too.” Mu Han Xia suddenly says.

Lin Mo Chen doesn’t move and just softly makes an “ah” sound. Mu Han Xia surprisingly pulls him up firmly, tugging at him as she runs down the stairs, eventually taking both of his hands in hers.

The snow is gently falling and the street lights are hazy. The music lingers in the empty plaza. Around them, they are surrounded by strangers. Lin Mo Chen holds Mu Han Xia and she also holds him. Gently holding on to one another, they follow the beat of the music, slowly moving step by step. Actually, Mu Han Xia doesn’t even know how to dance, and it is all Lin Mo Chen who is guiding her around.

But at this split second, at this quiet split second, all of Mu Han Xia’s difficulties seem unimportant. She buries her face in his chest, and at this moment, she considers his chest to be her entire world.

She thinks, let him be safe. But I hope that God has eyes, and will let this man whom she loves and admires, to forever live safely and successfully.

What is he thinking? She raises her head to look at him.

But all she can see is his deep, dark eyes, like the bottom of the ocean, just like when she first met him.

If this man doesn’t speak up, you would forever be unable to see through him, to see through his heart.

A phone rings and the two people separate. Mu Han Xia picks it up and takes a look. She is a bit at a loss, and looks up at Lin Mo Chen’s eyes. “I’m going to go take a call,” she says.

He nods.

Mu Han Xia walks two steps away, then once again turns around to look at him still standing in his original spot. Then, she picks up and says, “Hello!”

It is a call from across the ocean and it makes her her heart jump, thump, thump. The other side cheerfully asks her a few questions from the application, and without telling her the results, tells her to wait a few more days.

When Mu Han Xia picked up her phone call, Lin Mo Chen’s phone coincidentally rang too. He turned around to take it.

It is Anthony: “Jason, we’ve already calculated it, even if you use all of the clothes as collateral, and add on the funds you’ve raised, it’s still not enough… …”

Anthony is close to tears.

Lin Mo Chen hangs up on the phone and turns around, seeing Mu Han Xia walking towards him.

“Who called?” He asks.

Mu Han Xia is stumped for words, and the two of them just look at one another for a split second. Her heart suddenly feels empty.

“… … A friend,” she replies, smiling, “He Jing, do you still remember her?” After speaking, she takes a glance at the phone in his hand. “You? Who called you.”

“Anthony,” he says, with an ordinary expression.

“What happened?” She asks worriedly.

“It’s nothing.”

The two of them are both quiet for a moment. What is strange is that the music is the same as before, and the snow is still falling gently, but the two of them no longer want to dance anymore.

“Let’s go,” he says.

“Ok.”

The two of then walk side by side for a few steps. They are obviously still holding hands, but Mu Han Xia feels like the atmosphere isn’t right. They are so close, yet silently distant. She suddenly feels uncomfortable.

After the short moment of silence, she suddenly stops in her tracks, reaches out her arms, and hugs him. Lin Mo Chen’s eyes look down, and she stands on her tiptoes, warmly kissing him on the lips.

Time, it seemingly stops in this moment.

He stands motionless for a second, then returns the hug. He enthusiastically embraces her fiercely, something he has never done before. Mu Han Xia suddenly thinks of the first night they met like this. They had been kissing so crazily that night, so inseparably.

Their breaths meld and their faces press up together, neither giving way. Next to them, a skateboarding youth is whistling and jeering. But Lin Mo Chen ignores him, and instead has completely wrapped her up in his chest, recklessly pillaging.

Just now it had been a bit hot when they were dancing, and Mu Han Xia’s big jacket had been unzipped. At the moment, his hands calmly explore inside her jacket. He pushes her sweater away and holds her body. His gentle kiss slowly becomes rougher and his hand goes around her waist, resting on her lower belly, then suddenly tightens. Mu Han Xia trembles from head to tos. Clearly, it is a very simple action, but the unexperienced her is nearly unable to resist.

Suddenly they hear a boom and liquid fire flashes through the sky. Somewhere, people are putting on fireworks.

“Don’t tease or provoke me,” he whispers in her ear. “Do you really think I’ll always play the gentleman? In order to capture you, I have to let you loose first.”

There is a reckless smile in his voice, almost as if he is teasing her. But in Mu Han Xia’s heart, it shakes her.

“Then… … don’t be good anymore,” she says softly.

An intense ringing sound masks her voice. Mu Han Xia stares blankly at him, unsure if he heard her. He holds her and looks up, seeing huge firework blasts in the sky, like an enchanting sea of flowers blooming in the snowy night sky. It’s extremely bright, extremely quiet.
