The best thing you can do for yourself is to have self-reliance; you do not need to listen to every word that men speak about you. Do not give men the chance to rate you. If you allow people to do, they may kill your vision. Be careful the type of people you share your vision with, there are men that do not believe in you, so when you present your vision to these types of people—because they do not know the type of destiny you have—they will discourage you thereby killing your destiny.
There are men that do not know what destiny is all about, they do not know what it takes to pursue destiny. They are men that pitch their tents anywhere they see, always afraid of challenges. Flee from such men, look for men that believe in you, men who can encourage you.
Find who you are in Christ because you were created by him, in him and for him. If you will be able to locate your destiny in Christ, he will help you to become what he wants you to be and not what people want you to be.
One may look at you and underrate you but he that created you knows you very well, he knows your capacity and to what extent you can reach. Just walk away from people of low esteem because they will keep on telling you that "you cannot make it." Destinies are not the same, what made people to be wandering about as if they do not have destiny is their inability to locate who they are in God—God did not create you to be nothing but to be somebody, productive and progressive in life but because of your poor mentality, you think that your existence on earth is by an accident, but I want to tell you that it is not by an accident but for a very good purpose through Christ.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

If you are a type of person who thinks that he was just been created for creating sake, you are making a dreadful mistake, the Bible said that you are his workmanship, created in Christ for good work, not for bad work.
No skilled man will waste his energy and time in what is worthless, a potter does not waste his precious time molding something that is not profitable, in fact, it is only a madman that will waste his time doing something that is useless. I want to let you know that you are somebody in Christ and that you are created for a good work, rid yourself off those mentality you have, "that you are good for nothing," do you not know that it is contradicting God's purpose of creating you?
If you are not important, God would not have created you, you caused him something to be created. Sometime someday in God's calendar, he decided to create you and so he gathered all the host of heavens because of you. "And God said, 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…'" (Genesis 1:26). You can now see how important you are to God, it was just for the sake of your creation that God summoned the hosts of heaven, which means hosts in various departments. Believe me, they were not just ordinary delegates, but they were professionals that specialize in different departments. The chief constructor was there to give directives of your suitable shape and size, the chief designer was there as well to present the best color that would suit you, all those professionals gave their own directives as regard to their field of profession just because of your creation, at last God said "It was good."
Have you ever been in a hospital where an important person was admitted? Take your president for example: if your president is sick and was admitted, it is not every doctor that will attend to him, the only doctors that have the license to attend to him would be the good ones because he is very important, so these special doctors will treat his case. How much more you that were created in Christ Jesus for good works, do you not know that you are special?
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works…how precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!

If you do not love yourself, who do you expect to love you? And if you did not appreciate yourself, no one will appreciate you. People value you only when you value yourself, therefore, build a wall of protection over anything you value. Your existence on earth is not by an accident, you are not a result of by-product, there are things that were made out of by-product, which means, their existence were by chance, but your case is not the same as theirs.
No matter how you were made, the Bible said that you are "wonderfully made" in Christ Jesus for good work, predestined by God. So no matter how you look, God said that you are good, whether short or tall "it was good" whether black or white, "it was good." It was the chief designer that presented the color to be given to your skin, another one from another department measured your length and size, so your size and length is not by mistake because we believe that professionals do not make mistake, still, someone else in another department gave the directive of how long your nails will be, the nature of thumb print, the shape of your face, etc.
Whatever you see in your body is not by mistake or accident. No matter how you see yourself, God said, "It was good." Do not let your stature, or whatever people may have been saying about your body and life, incapacitate you from reaching your destiny. If anyone insults you because of your size, stature, color, or whatever, tell him that God, who made it so, said "it was good" and that if it was not good, he wouldn't have made it so.
Sometimes we tend to believe what men call us and the picture our mirrors give us. For the fact that your spouse or boss in the office wakes up one day and call you whatever he feels like doesn't really matter, but what matters is the meaning you give it. Every statement that one makes about you will not matter; the only thing that matters is the expression you give it. People vent their angers in various ways, there are people, when they are provoked, they will say a lot of annoying things like, 'you are mad'. Or ' you are stupid'. When you tell me something like that, your expression does not matter to me, what counts is the way I respond to it. So when you say something like that, I will first of all look at myself and check if I carry the attribute of madness or stupidity, and if not, I will just dust myself and go my way.
The expression you give to my appearance has nothing negative to do in my life but my own expression matters, and it gives it a true picture, so I won't let you ruin my life or let you run my life for me. I can't be you and you can't be me, a good number of us especially ladies spend all their time on mirror. Some will like to have convex type of mirror so that it can give them wide field view of their faces. Whose report shall you believe? The report your standing mirror gives you about your stature, or the report God gives you according to the book of Genesis, which says "it was good?"
Permit me to tell you one thing, if you continue looking at your face and stature on that mirror, it will keep giving you the blurred, false nature of who you are. Let me show you the type of mirror you will be using in viewing your stature every time you want to go out or every time people would make an ugly statement about you. Instead of looking at your mirror which does not give you the true picture of who you are, this type of mirror is a multipurpose mirror.
It has one thousand and one mirrors in a single pack; every time you want to go out or somebody says something which you don't like concerning your stature, color of skin, size of your face and head, just quickly grab this particular type of mirror.
And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness… So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him…

Get the root of this word "so God created man in his own image" and in the "image of God created he him." Stop spending your precious time looking at your face or stature on mirror just because of a single statement somebody made about it. If he does not like you, God who made it so likes it as it is, for you are the true replica of his likeness. When God was creating you, he did not call that person to give his form and likeness, but he created you out of his own form and likeness. God created you for his own pleasure, and not for the pleasure of that person who has been abusing your stature or appearance.
If you think that you are not important to God, why didn't he summon one of his angels to create you? But because of your importance and uniqueness, he created you himself and after that he said that you are good. So, you may not be looking good to that man or woman but he that made you says that "you are good".

If for one reason or the other, somebody will look at you and make an ugly comment, just understand that he that made you made it in his own likeness, you may not look good to their liking, they may not like the color of your skin, but "… when he shall appear, we shall be like him…" (1 John 3:2 kjv). If you ask me who will I like to be like, I will simply tell you, I will be myself because as he is, so I am, and again, I am wonderfully and fearfully made, in him I take my form and being. A lot of people have ended up wrongly because they chose to be like another person, copying another man's work and destiny, instead of being themselves. Don't walk out of your destiny for another man's own. You are unique in your own way; God has the master plan of who you are. Stop comparing yourself using their mirrors.
Be the best because God wants you to be best and aspire to be what God wants you to be. Being what God wants you to be will make you to be fruitful in life, even if the journey seems to be tough. Keep on moving because at the end lies the glory; but being what men want you to be will lead you to perpetual struggling, and you end up achieving nothing.
Sometimes, the road to it may not be all that smooth; it is like a roadway where you have to meet all kinds of things like pot holes, flat tire, sharp bending, and traffics. Here, pot holes in your life could be those thorns, those things that constitute themselves as pain. When a car is moving on a road where there are pot holes; it causes discomfort to the tires of the car, and if the absorbers are not in order, it cause the car to start producing a lot of noise. So when you are traveling on the road to your destiny and you begin to experience such, do not touch the dial of your faith. Make sure that your shock absorber which is your faith is not affected; always keep it on safety side.
When your faith is being tried by the challenges you are facing in your life, you need to see your spiritual Father. We shall in a moment see how those factors that one encounters while traveling on a road are related to our lives in the cause of pursuing our destinies.
Flat tire as used in this book could be disappointment. Whenever one has flat tire, he replaces it with the spare one and keeps going. Just because you have a flat tire on your way does not mean that you will cancel your journey—Just because you experienced disappointment on the way to your destiny does not mean that you will not fulfill your destiny. If there is no disappointment, there will not be an appointment.
If your car does not have a flat tire, the spare one will not achieve its purpose, and so if there are no disappointments, the appointments—opportunities that are at spare—will not achieve its purposes in your life. Expect the flat tire which will need a replacement with a spare with new strength; expect disappointment on the way to your destiny pursuit.
Sharp bending as it implies to this matter could be a change of decision. When one is traveling, he keeps following the way whenever it leads him, so is it to the decisions you take in life. As you drive along and find out that there is a sharp curve a few meters ahead, you step on the brakes. You do not use the same speed where the road is straight forward to a place where there is a curve. You need to slow down, and you may as well need to change gear, it is not just what you will use the number one gear to drive, you need the suitable gear for it and as you bend, you will continue to fire your engine—so, it can be applied in the course of pursuing your destiny, when you come to the point that has sharp bending, all you need to do is to slow down. Think whether the decision you have taken is suitable or not; if it is not suitable, do not hesitate to change to decision that will suit the next step. If a driver of a car approaches a bend path and refuses to follow the direction of the bending, because he does not want to change gear, slow down or change direction, he may end up in a valley which may claim his life.
Those that constructed the road saw the danger ahead, so they have to bend the direction of the road for the comfort of the travelers. So God who made you knows the end from the beginning, he knows that you will come to a point where you have to make some changes to the decisions you made previously. If he takes your plans to give you his, don't object, follow his plans instead of continuing with your own. Trust him, he will not mislead you. There must be a change of direction in the course of fulfilling your destiny, so whichever way God constructed the road of your destiny, keep on following it like that. Do not do otherwise to change direction due to the tough time on the way. If your decisions require changes where it is necessary, then do so and keep moving. Jesus had to follow God's directives when he came in the world to fulfill God's desires.
