To fight for your destiny is not bread and butter. There are things that you do not expect to get on a platter of gold. To fulfill your destiny, you need to fight for it. It is not a physical fight; the war could come in various forms but only the violent lay hold of it.
Some times, life is not a bed of roses; there are things one must do to fulfill his course of destiny. It is a race. You must run in order to attain the victory, which lies ahead. It is also a fight where you must face challenges to reach your destiny. After the rain comes the shine, it may have rained in your life, or it may have been raining now; but no matter how cloudy the sky may be, beyond it lies the sunshine—no matter how tough the fight may seem to be, remember just
beyond it lies victory.
Sometimes, good things do not come easily, and there are challenges that need to be fight seriously. People that changed the world during their own time were people who faced their fight and resolved never to surrender even when things got hard. He who fears challenges does not gather much and he cannot last. A father was trying to encourage his teenage son after he failed an examination. The father said, "Don't give up, try again." But the boy responded, "What is the use?" The father told him, "It is easier to quit." Then he added, "The people who are remembered in life are people who, when they fail, didn't give up, but tried again." If you fail to face your fight, you will fade away just like that. The purpose of embarking in a war is to achieve victory.
Soldiers before they go out to battle always have in their minds that there must be victory, for victory is the hope of all fighters especially when they're in the battlefield. Soldiers fight to secure victory, and for you to attain victory, you must face your challenges and fight with all your might.
Remember, no war no victory, to face the fight is the sacrifice you owe to your destiny, how do you feel when life gets tough? Do you run away from the challenges or do you face it? Well, the best thing to do when life gets tough is to face it and not to run away from it. Tough times came in the life of Isaac: he wanted to divert life where it will suit him, but the Lord preferred him to face the fight.
And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelechi king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of.
Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries..
Genesis 26:1–3 KJV
Isaac wanted to divert from challenges to where life would be easier, but God made him face the challenges of famine because the Lord wanted Isaac to prove his might during hard times.
Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundred fold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great.
(Genesis 26:12–13 KJV)
Had he refused God and diverted to a place where he might have thought that things will suit him, God would not have made him great. He faced the fight and later reaped the joy that followed. So each tough time that is coming your way, should be taken as an opportunity for a promotion. However, if you don't confront your challenges, you'll miss the blessings especially when you achieve victory.
No matter how heavy your burdens are, do not turn away or even compromise. Always remember that tough times are opportunities: the more tough times you'll face means more blessings especially when you conquer your adversities. Although the battle may seem tough and heavy, you just have to confront it because without the cross, there will be no crown.
Adversity reveals what is in you, and fire reveals the type of stuff you are made of. As fire reveals the quality of a gold, adversity will test your toughness and endurance, and the level you can achieve. Just like how radiation can determine the life span of a product, adversity can determine the life span of your destiny. And just like the persistence of gold in fire will determine how valuable and how long it can last; your perseverance in adversity will determine how best you can produce and how long your product can last.
In any level of adversity that you'll face on the course of your destiny, you will realize that it's all worth it. The size of your destiny will determine the level of its adversity. Adversity is part of the system, and it is a force that pushes you closer to your destiny: the more the adversity, the closer you are to its end.
Just like how iron sharpens iron, adversity will also sharpen your destiny, and as furnace refines gold, adversity can also refine your destiny. If men want you to go a mile with them, then go for an extra mile. If your rivals desire your downfall, then you should desire your upliftment even more.
If your enemies desire for your failure, then you must face your challenges head-on, conquer them, and achieve victory.
Your Focus is the target
Satan's number one target is your faith! Jesus said to Peter, "Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail" (Luke 22:31–32 NKJV). Satan may attack your health but he is after your faith. He may attack your finances, but he is after your faith. No man wastes his bullet on what is nothing, and the devil knows his original goal—his prime target, and he does not go for the fake ones. As soon as you were formed in the womb, your focus has been the devil's target; with that your future has been announced and that will be the beginning of the war. God said in the follow- ing passage:
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou cometh forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Jeremiah 1:5 KJV
You can also agree with me that devil is a spirit, so he too knows the type of destiny you have. He will start to plan how to terminate your life while you are in the womb in order to ruin your future because he knows that his own future had been ruined, and so he is determined to ruin any good destiny he sees in a man's life, and that is the reason your focus is his main target.
I want to tell you that you have a future and that is why devil has been fighting you. As soon as he captures your focus, it will be very easy for him to frustrate you. The devil does not waste his bullet on a destiny that is not promising. Once he finds out that a man has no focus in life, he will not waste his bullets; but when he sees a man with a divine future, he'll fire his bullets on that focus because when a man's focus is affected, his future is affected as well. Your focus is the eagle eyes of your future, therefore you must guard it very well.
Apostle Paul said that "he pressed towards the mark, forgetting what lies behind." (Phil. 3:13) He did not admit that he has achieved all because the road mark which is his focus still tells him that he had a lot to achieve.
Do not underestimate your vision—your focus and vision is the lamp that lights your future. And so when the fire increases, remember the vision because your vision will motivate you to carry on when things get tough. The chief host of your future is your vision; and so the greater the vision, the greater the adversity; and the greater the adver- sity, the greater the testimony.
The devil likes to fight any vision that comes from God; he fights it to prove such vision is false and delay it thereby making you doubt over your vision. He also fights the vision to prevent you from reaching your destiny. For that, God told Habakkuk to write the vision and make it plain:
And the Lord answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
Habakkuk 2:2 KJV
The reason why you should write your vision and guard it very well is that, even if it tarries, you will still stick to it. Although the devil will fight your vision, you must make it come true. The devil will provoke you and force you to delete the vision because the power of your future lies in your vision. The devil may delay it, but he cannot stop it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Habakkuk 2:3 KJV
Your vision speaks for your future, and it conveys you towards your future, and so when adversity increases, remember the vision because it is your inspirational shield.
