CRUSHED BUT NOT DESTROYED 2 MIRACLE, THE DYING MINUTE BRIDGE

Why is it that miracles do not come at the initial stage of incident but always at the last minute? Maybe if it shows up at the first stage, we may think it is a coincidence and thereby give the credit and kudos to our intelligence and power. No wonder the Bible said that by strength shall no man prevail (1 Sam. 2:9). Sometimes, God does not show up in a crisis to intervene, but he will be nowhere to be found until things have gone terribly worst. Look at what happened when they sent a message to Jesus that his very good friend's life was at stake. Jesus did not show up until his friend died, and not only that, he waited for two more days when the situation had become worse.

Do you know that no level of your relationship with God can make you to escape from passing through what I simply call the school of life?—the school of life is where God takes you to teach you things about life, it is a place where he prepares you to face the challenges of life. If you doubt it, why did he allow his only Son to pass through the school of life? And why did Jesus allow his friend to die before he went there?

For whatever trouble that is happening in your life, I want to tell you that God is perfectly in control of every part of the system. No matter how and where the wind is blowing you to, God knows every bit of it, and he will come to your rescue when the right time comes.

Do you know that God was on the throne, watching when the royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors under the administration of king Darius made a decree that whosoever shall ask a petition of any god shall be cast into the den of lions? He was on the throne when they signed it; that same God was watching when they threw Daniel into the lion's den and that was when he showed up. Now, why is that God did not intervene when the nobles, governors, and princes gathered to enact the law, or why is that he did not prevent them from casting Daniel into the lion's den? This was because he wanted to prove to the world that power belongs to him and that he controls the universe including the animals.

Another case was that of the three Jews: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. God was on the throne, watching when the law and decree was given out that whosoever that does not bow down to the graven image shall be cast into the furnace. He was there when they were setting up the fire, still watching when the king gave another decree to double the fire instead of reducing it.

Why didn't God quench the fire, or destroy the furnace itself, since he has the power to do all things? God must have allowed the event to happen so that his name will be glorified. Do you know that, that same God was watching when there were tying them? Why didn't he let the ropes break? He was still watching when the king's mighty men lifted the three Jews up and threw them in the furnace. Why didn't he send thunder from the heaven and cause an earthquake to shake the land? Yet, he waited until they threw them in the furnace and that was when he came to prove his supremacy.

Sometimes God will allow your enemies to gather and device some strategies to ruin your future and terminate your life; and when they think that they have prevailed, God will use their own weapons to destroy them. He allows them to gather so that he will make an utter end of them. That is why the psalmist said that they, the enemies, will fall in the pit they dug, which was meant to destroy the righteous. Those people who threw Daniel in the den lost their lives, and those that cast the three Jewish men in the fire also lost their lives. Haman, who planned to ruin Mordecai's life, was executed using the same thing he made to kill Mordecai (Esther 7:10).

God must allow your enemies to plan evil so that he will destroy them with that very thing, which they designed to destroy you. Maybe they are planning to occupy your seat, position, and promotion which rightfully belonged to you.

Don't worry and don't panic. If Haman did not succeed to take Mordecai's seat (Esther 6) so shall your enemies fail, when they try to prevail over you or take what belongs to you.

Don't panic whenever your enemy is rising up against you. God is in control and that same measure he used for you shall be used for him. Fear not, for God is in control. He is the one that rules in the affairs of men because he who created the world knows how to manage his world.

Do you think that God is late in dealing with your crisis? Listen, God is everywhere and because he is everywhere, he cannot be late; but if you think that God can be late to a situation, pause and ponder. Was Jesus late in the case of Lazarus; was God late in the case of Daniel and the three other Jews? It does not matter who judges your case.

For their rock is not as our Rock, even

our enemies being judges themselves.

Deut. 32:33 KJV

Even if your worst enemies will judge your case, fear not, because their rock is not like our "Rock," Our "Rock" is the Supreme Judge, the Judge of all judges. The enemies may decide to judge the case against you because your enemy is the very judge himself, but remember, God allowed Haman to judge Mordecai so that God would use Haman's judgment to judge him back.

If it is not God, then it is not miracle at all. Have you ever heard people say, "God did it?"—that is a miracle and not a coincidence. God will allow the period of coincidence to pass so that when it happens, you will not give the praise to the god of coincidence or the god of luck. I tell you, God will take all glory in your own case. Do not fear, for he is in control of the universe. Do you know that a living dog is better than dead lion? Do you know that he that is alive has hope? Those that lost their lives in an accident, a tsunami, or a hurricane, cannot think of building a house, driving car, or thinking of getting that thing which you have been asking God to give you. And because he has not done it for you, you started thinking otherwise. If the dead were given a chance to come back to life, just by being alive is enough for them, but they don't have such an opportunity. Why not appreciate the gift of life he has given you and trust him for the other things? Jesus asked "Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall put on. Is not life more than meat, and the body than raiment?" (Matthew 6:25 kjv). Maybe the finished work on the cross is not enough to convince you that God loves you, but at least the gift of life will convince you.

Tell your adversary not to bury you yet or not to write you off, for God is not yet finished with you. The case study of Ezekiel 37:1–10 which speaks about the dry bones will give you a clear picture of where I am going. It does not matter how dried up your life may be. Don't worry. The breath of God is coming to your life, and people may look at you and see no life in you, tell them not to bury you yet because the breath of God is coming to your 'lifeless,' body. You may be a very dry bone today, but still, let no one write you off yet. Tomorrow you shall be a warrior and be part of the great army of the Lord. Don't bother the type of adjective people used to qualify your life. God is not yet finished with you.

Don't allow people to introduce you based on the things that challenges your life.

You may not have what it takes to be a warrior but, when the time comes, God will show up for you. Though you may be trying for years, yet have not succeeded, be optimistic that you are not a candidate of failure; you will make it because Christ made it. No one should rate you a failure because God has not yet finished with you. You are not an accident; heaven knows that you exist. Though people may not know that somebody like you exist in the history of the world, in the calendar of life, and in the population of your country, don't worry, the world will hear your voice and really know that you exist. No body knew that Saul existed. He came from the weakest tribe but he became king. David was forgotten by his own family in the bush, but he later became the king. The entire world heard his voice and believed that he really existed.

People may abuse you just as the brothers of David did; but don't worry, you are coming up, you are alive. When God finishes with you, you shall shine forth like gold. My dear reader, has your plight equalled the dried and lifeless bone in the book of Ezekiel? I don't think so—but if it has, I have good news for you. Now listen, if God could turn a very dried and lifeless bone to a mighty army of the Lord, he is still be able to turn your situation around—a turnaround is coming; I can feel the wind of God—the breath of God coming to vitalize your lifeless body!

In fact, it looks and sounds very ridiculous for a dry bone, forgotten by men, to be alive again. Go back to that chapter and study it again. It shows that no matter how dead my situation might seem to be, that same God who gave life to those bones will also give life to my dead situation "that same spirit shall also quicken your mortal bodies" Romans 8:11.

Here's another case of a dead situation in John 11. Lazarus was a dead and stinking corpse; that same person came back to life. He was killed by a disease; but when he came back to life, that particular disease that killed him did not come back. He was a new Lazarus who got up with a new power and strength—courtesy of "That same spirit." Those people who we read in the book of Ezekiel, who knows what killed them? It could be disease, starvation, sword, etc.; but while they were coming back, none of those things that killed them followed them back to life.

One thing that is so interesting is that when the person comes back to life, he becomes a new man with new strength and power. In fact, everything—body systems, blood, brain, and so forth—emerges in a new and undefiled form. "Behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17 kjv). Jesus died with our sins and sickness, but when he resurrected, a new Jesus came forth. One of the major reasons why God allow our situations to be dry and dead, is for him to bring forth a new us. We die, yet we come back as a new person. This could be one of the reasons why Jesus said in John 12: 24 "unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it abides alone."
