An Immortal's Tales Of Demons And Gods Chapter 187: Talking To Nie Li

Before leaving for the Draconic Ruins Realm, the Nether Master decided to wait a bit for the Demon Lord. Shen Tian took this chance to go to a corner and summon him from the Kamui Dimension he had put him inside of. The Demon Lord was initially a bit dizzy but stood up a minute afterward. He and Shen Tian started to talk about the Draconic Ruins Realm, it seems he remembered everything the Demon Lord had done while inside his body and even had the memories of him before he took over his body.

He could see that Nie Li had a grudge against the Demon Lord. It was understandable from his side since the Demon Lord had caused destruction in Glory City before he 'escaped' while fighting Shen Tian, but the truth was that the Demon Lord had already died, and the original owner occupied his body.

After they gave each other their farewells, they saw a huge and enormous vortex appear in the sky above the Nine Layered Deathlands. Shen Tian knitted his eyebrows, this was made out of various law powers. This was probably the portal which would lead them to the Draconic Ruins Realm it seems.

Upon noticing the vortex form, the various Spiritual Gods, including Li Kong or the Nether Master all raised their heads to look at it. " It seems the gate has been formed, with a connection near the Phaseless Sect." The Nether Master muttered upon receiving confirmation from a nearby expert. Some of the people present from the previous exam, started to fly towards the massive vortex.

Nie Li took the chance to talk to Shen Tian before it was too late since the portal was going to be soon connected to the sect he was going to join. " Shen Tian, I want to discuss with you about the stuff which has happened recently, like you going to the Dark Ruins, or simply about the Demon Lord." He said.

Shen Tian looked at Nie Li, his eyes expressing coldness. " What is there to speak about what I did while I was in the Dark Ruins, or about the Demon Lord escaping, he simply was stronger than me or Ye Mo and managed to escape my grasps before I was capable of stopping him from leaving."

Nie Li was not really affected by the expression Shen Tian was showing him. He had seen worse. " Shen Tian, please don't lie to me. I know that you are far stronger than me, and I alone can defeat the Demon Lord, let alone you who are way stronger than me. Why did you let him escape?" He frowned.

Walking towards Shen Tian, Nie Li was really pissed off. He did not expect to be insulted so much by Shen Tian merely because he stated a fact. He was just curious as to why Shen Tian acted so ignorant. Ye Mo was so rude to him because he knew that Shen Tian could've prevented the Demon Lord from escaping.

Shen Tian continued to be rude; the reason was pretty much clear. Nie Li wanted to know the reason as to why he was doing this, just so he could bash him for that clear reason. Nie Li wanted to kill the Demon Lord due to his danger to Glory City, and Shen Tian had prevented him from doing exactly that.

"I'm just asking you why did you spare the Demon Lord, you did the same thing back at the Black Infernal Tower when you two fought you spared him and even gave him a pill so he could recover for the next floor of the tower literally the next moment!" Nie Li frowned as he stopped walking towards Shen Tian.

Shen Tian inhaled air as he glared at Nie Li. " You want to know why I did not kill and let the Demon Lord escape inside? Fine. I will tell you why but do not tell me that what I did was wrong afterward, you are in no position to tell me something about my actions back then, understood Nie Li?" He snorted.

Nie Li nodded. "That was my objective from the beginning. Can you now please answer my question then?" Shen Tian responded with a cold glare,"The reason I spared him is that there was no point in me protecting a city which has no respect for me, and degrades every single work of mine."

"Wh" Nie Li was stupefied, Shen Tian had not killed the Demon Lord because of the disrespect Glory City was showing him? Indeed, Nie Li had noticed that most people did not speak very well of Shen Tian, but was it truly enough for the boy to ignore his roots, and not kill the main person behind the deaths of hundreds of people from the city?

"Listen, you may think that this reason is just rubbish, but in the long term for me, it was the best choice." Shen Tian said as he sighed." The Scout Division I suggested to be created, with Xuan Fei as a leader was basically bashed for their worth slowly getting lowered due to lack of missions and belief in them, the Demon Lord still being alive can serve as a way for it to grow furthermore."

Nie Li frowned deeply, "The Scout Division had no reason to exist from the beginning anyway. The City Lord and the various families of the city do missions to explore the St.Ancestral Mountain Range every once in a while, the Scout Division basically just took money from the poor citizen of the city."

Shen Tian shook his head, "You seem to not have dwelled to deep into this issue haven't you." He thought Nie Li was very naive." The Scout Divison, in the few years it has existed has completed more than a thousand missions, almost one every day, and has added more than a hundred locations to the general map of the St.Ancestral Mountain Range, allowing cultivators to freely access unknown lands of it."

"The Scout Division has also lowered the number of Demon Beasts inside the area around Glory City by over 23%, tell me how many Demon Beasts has the City Lord and the other families managed to kill when compared to the Scout Division in the same time period, Nie Li!" Shen Tian coldly stated.
