Abyss Domination Vol Chapter 3

The path was muddy after the rain.

The slums area is forever filled with muddy rotten roads anywhere you’ll step in mud, occasionally a piece of fecal matter will wash out from the corners, the air is always saturated by a foul stench.

In the dense clusters of low sheds you can see the numb faces of people busily working, they have to repair their housing and make their way to the terminal to get a drudging job.

Whenever the stormy season hit, there were always some leakages, occasionally there would be a collapse causing some tragedies to occur.

Suǒ Lun holds the old dog’s already cold body as he walks down the foul smelling street, Weiwei solemnly holding his hand silently following at his side.

Xīsī Láijié died!

The life of the old dog that followed her around since she was born, had finally come to an end.

They are going to give him a respectful burial like a human being.

It had such qualifications!

“Suǒ Lun!…..”

“That’s Suǒ Lun!… He woke up!…”

The people in the surrounding slum talked in whispers with a trace of awe mixed with fear appeared in their eyes. That was because this youth considered a powerful thief, having the ability to easily overthrow 35 men and able to pin flies to the wall with a dagger.

The nearby streets held two crooks called Ba LaSi and Ka Nuò, they have tried to rope Weiwei’s careful attention from the still unconscious Suǒ Lun, it was even heard that they stole part of Suǒ Lun’s hard earned money, at that time they had no less than a few warnings to mind their own business!

The slums are a land of sin.

No one was willing to pay over this young girl, they were afraid of these villains and had no means of resisting them.

Weiwei wearing a shabby dress, the skirt was made from cheap sewn-up linen cloth, whether it was the fabric or the work in making it both were of low quality only people of the slums would wear it.

Although Suǒ Lun was an outstanding thief he still had a fiercer robber chieftain, he needed to make offerings of what he stole, what remained was only enough to sustain basic living.

This area belongs to those living on the edge of survival!

Even an outstanding thief, could not possibly challenge these rules.

Suǒ Lun looked at the familiar yet unfamiliar sights with some of the pictures in his memory overlapping, he feels familiar with Amber City because he’d once heard of the name while in the game. However at the time it was the epic plot opening, a terrible force erupted from the temporal chaos forcing the Gods to temporarily lose their powers and descend to the world as saints.

This was an exceptionally confusing time, where mortals slaughtered Gods to bring back clarity to the country, players played a just one but also a unique role in this.*

In Clash of Titans, players only have three lives.

After each death and resurrection, physical attributes will permanently be reduced by three points, finally having the soul return to the underworld.

During this time many players rose only to soon fall!

The stage belongs to everyone.

To end the time of upheaval, the gods must return to their pantheon or the chaotic saga will not end.*

One-third of the gods fell from the sky!

Even the goddess of magic, the master of order, the lady of darkness, shadow masters, and a frightening fiend that even powerful god’s dread, all fell from the sky.

A mammoth plot began from then on.

The thrones of god’s fall from the heavens, numerous kingdoms of heaven fall to earth creating a special realm.

That is – the Kingdom of God

A  place players have to go through a long difficult road, with only a few fortunate enough to survive before becoming qualified to explore.

Even experts who have fallen must make a fresh start, promoting their profession up to an higher-order before they are even able to explore the weakest God, Ge Luo Sar’s God of kobolds treasure trove.

Troubled memories begin to surface.

The somewhat now familiar images tell Suǒ Lun that this period of unrest would become the future of this world. The incarnated Gods tear the earth, changing the 12 continental plains. Three plains totally disintegrate into a sea of flames, becoming a frozen block of ice, and the blacklands of death. The projection of the devils spreads all over, their demagoguery poisoning the minds of the people inciting them into slaughter, even players did not lack for ** by them.

The abyss fiends that tore the sky arrived in the midst of flowing blood; on the first day of the abyss’ awakening alone, 100,000 civilians of the 12 cities died of slaughter.

That was the eve of the players.

The twilight of the gods, the evening of all evenings.*

Among the fields of unrest spread throughout the universe all died at least once, even Suǒ Lun fell having his soul reincarnated in the netherworld.

No one could escape this catastrophe!

Even those choosing the hero’s class may be wrote off as being crushed like an ant!

This is the era of the Saints!

Also the age of the Gods!

The catastrophe ends.

The age of the mortals is soon to come, the immense estates of the Gods just waiting to be explored, all the treasure in the store houses wanting to be taken.

Both indomitable strength, unfathomable wealth, and eternal life!

    The ghetto’s cemetery.

The burial post of the slum area set at random every once in awhile a body being thrown in, the junkman striping the corpses of clothing waiting for the midnight jackals to show.

Some bodies will sometimes disappear into thin air, only to have been taken away by some evil spell; as for what will become of it, nobody cares to know.

Xīsī Láijié couldn’t just be buried in a random mass grave.

Suǒ Lun saw the greedy eyes of many people as they walked, all they saw was a pile of delicious dog meat.

He believed that as long as Xīsī was buried there then people would dig him out at night, peeling and slicing his flesh to make a cauldron of meat.

This is the ghetto!

Most people are living here in starvation.

They want to eat meat.

Perhaps if it was to not fall into the abyss some rash and hungry bums would commit heinous acts,even cannibalization.

Suǒ Lun remembers when he first entered the game.

At that time he and the other players were so poor it was hard to imagine the games difficulty.

Not being equipped with glistening  weapons there were no eye catching scenery, fights were not easily won, there was only desperate fighting to win in the moment of life and death. Some chose to loiter in the disorderly slum area, a place filled with trash, excrement and ubiquitous evil & darkness.

To obtain a decent meal or even a white weapon, people would have to brave many risk.

Many who are just entering the game become stained with evil because the stimulation was so deep and then appeared the paladins.

They made a vow to change this corrupt and evil virtual world.

But in the end.

What did they change, they didn’t have the ability to challenge the rules of this world.

The world would not be so easily be changed by you!

All the players entering into the war of the gods experience a period of tough decisions, because in modern day society the dark ages are an unimaginable thing, here they will experience and meet with many things once thought unthinkable.

Evil & Cruel,  Sacred & Great

In this game world one must choose their path, willing or not.

And because of this.

“The Clash of Titans” is equivalent to many people as life in another country.

    Memorial park.

This is a quiet and peaceful land.

This is the resting place of the dead established when the temple of the daughter of Yama was built, being patrolled by both priest and temple guardians ensuring that the souls of the dead would not be disturbed.

But not everyone is eligible for burial here, a monetary reward must be given as the goddess of wealth, says all in this world can be weighed in gold.

This is an era of materialistic evils!

Suǒ Lun held Xīsī’s body standing silently in front of the temple when an elderly priest appeared in front of him, he lead Weiwei in lowering their heads as a show of respect.

At first he doubted that he was inside of a game world, but upon seeing  seeing the people living and having individual consciousness’; he knew from then on that this world he’d arrived in was indeed real.

From Weiwei’s innocent mouth, he knew that they didn’t know about attributes.

He doesn’t know why.

Suǒ Lun thought of the magical like ornament that came attached to the game cartridge.

Because of it’s eerie appearance most people decided to remove it.

Suǒ Lun was slightly braver and kept the ornament, the company as if listening to the views of the player base did not include this bizarre decoration on later releases.

“Are you determined for it to enter the cemetery?”

The elderly priest has seen many aristocrats wanting to send their pets to rest in the cemetery but never such a poor person as Suǒ Lun.

The clothing they wear, and mud covering their feet prove that they are of the lowest-level of poor.

Suǒ Lun slightly bows: “Yes”

This consecration is for its burial in the temple.

He respectfully took out a silver Deleur, all of his income since he’d first became a thief.

So long as it was not discovered!

This is a sparkling silver Deleur, that only the goddess of wealth followers can manufacture even this is not something that is circulated through hell.

The priest gave him a deep look, lifting his fingers and laying them at the side of a box: “Perhaps it was a loyal dog”

“It is worth it.”

“Child.

“Come with me, so that it may obtain its resting place.”

Suǒ Lun placed the silver Deleur in the box near the temple’s entrance, holding onto Xīsī’s body he proceeds into the cemetery.

In a small corner.

As the two men dug a hole in the cemetery for Xīsī’s burial, Weiwei who was in a daze

once again shed tears in silence.

“Xīsī!…..”

The little girl sat before the tomb saying a few words in a whisper, later raising up and standing strong while holding onto Suǒ Lun’s hand.

Xīsī was only a common dog.

He didn’t deserve a tombstone so there was only a small grave.

In the furthest corner of the cemetery.
