Abyss Domination Chapter 99: Druids

Even a tiny action would always cause a domino effect in nature.

In the past when winter came, the monsters in the wilderness short on food would attack those creatures nearby. It snowed one month earlier than the past, so they became more likely to attack the others. In spite of their limited knowledge, many of the aborigines knew this from their survival experience for generations that this winter was probably eventful. Soran led Vivian to walk downstairs and heard of a familiar voice the moment they arrived on the ground floor of the hotel.

"Hey hey hey!"

"I'm here. I'm down here."

Aladdin was so short that the owner of the hotel could only hear his voice instead of seeing him. Having looked around, the owner stuck out his head and said with a smile, "Hello, Halfling, what can I do for you?"

Aladdin was so furious that he wanted to jump onto the table. He said after taking a deep breath, "Have you seen a man and a woman check in here with a little girl? I saw their carriage outside the hotel."

Soran twitched his lips' corners, walked downstairs, and said, "Aladdin, we're here. Aren't you supposed to go and find Iron Dwarf?"

Aladdin felt delighted upon seeing them and said while clapping his hands, "Thanks to Goddess of Luck."

"What rotten Luck!"

"Yesterday, I finally found myself a cave for sleeping after a long walk. When I woke up after setting up the traps, the heavy snow blocked the entrance. As I finally got out of the cave after digging the snow with a shovel for half a day, I learned that the snow collapsed, trapping me under several meters of snow. My original plan was to continue to look for Iron Dwarf. But, the snow was so deep that it covered my thighs, so no way could I resume my trip."

"Thus, I backtracked here to see if I can follow you to the Elf Nation. It's said there is a lot of delicious food there."

A group of Druids clad in outlandish clothes gathered up on a certain floor, including elves, humans, and half-elves with the largest number of half-elves and the least number of humans. However, the leader was a tall and strong Elf-Druid with antlers. A dozen Druids were seated around a rectangular table, some of whom fell into a quarrel because of different opinions.

"Quiet!"

The tall and strong Elf-Druid with antlers pounded the table and said in a muffled voice, "Speak one by one. First, Thorn Walker."

The one who stood up was a pure-blooded Elf-Druid. He looked around with his sharp eyes and said seriously, "The earlier snowfall this year shows we were too weak! This is the punishment of God of Nature and Goddess of Snow for endless destruction! We should have let the stupid humans experience the Anger of Nature!"

"The southeastern Grosso Plain has been desertified badly. The endless reclamation of farmland and environmental damage have made the soil there lifeless. It'll be a short time before the plain becomes waste and part of the desert. Besides, humans have cut down over one-third of the trees of the southwestern forest within recently 30 years."

"Nature is roaring!"

"This is her punishment for the entire world. The winter coming earlier is her harbinger. If we stand by and watch this happen, the future world will face a more formidable natural disaster. "I object!" An old Human-Druid stood up. He looked at the speaker with his eyes wrinkled and said slowly, "It's not only humans who should be held accountable for destroying the environment. Dwarfs, midgets, and elves all have played havoc with nature to some degree. As the world is evolving with the development of civilization, civilization will unavoidably have a conflict with nature. A good-looking Half-elf-Druid gently said while knocking on the table with her finger, "Recently, many people increasingly become dissatisfied with us, especially because of the last attack. Sorcerers hold dangerous attitude toward us."

"We can't misuse the Anger of Nature. We should send someone to warn them. If it doesn't work out, then we dispatch the patrol to expel them. If unnecessary, we advise not to mount a large-scale war. We can ask apprentices to plant trees as their new task. They'll create a new forest in ten years at most."

Thorn Walker glanced at her and said in a calm voice, "Then what? Let humans continue chopping them down?"

"Their demands for nature is infinite. It takes a tree ten years to grow up, but they can deforest 1,000 ones in one day. I can only see endless destruction and disasters in their civilization. Do you want to see another Alchemy City emerge? "

The Druid with antlers pounded the table and said in a muffled voice, "The catastrophe of Mystery Empire can't happen again! Civilization can never overtop nature!"

We should send someone to Dreamland Forest to inquire with His Excellency, Earth Walker."

"Now, the question is, the sudden befalling of winter will cause a huge disaster. Animals should have stored as much as fat to survive the winter this month. However, the snow, which arrives one month earlier, forces them into hibernation. Monsters in the wilderness don't store enough food, either. If they eat up their food, they'll attack other creatures, first animals, then the other races. Thus, creatures in nature will face an imbalance again. We must guarantee that all species can reproduce after this winter."

"As long as they can survive this winter, the power of nature will re-balance them."

The other Druids nodded in unison. Thorn Walker said slowly after taking a deep breath, "Your Excellency Buck, I'm afraid we can't maintain the balance only by our strength, for the snow covers a large scale. I suggest asking the other Druids for help."

The tall and strong Druid with antlers said in a muffled voice with a nod, "I know."

"You can get started. Eagle-eye Walker, you go and check if Ogres in the Jingchi Heights can survive this winter. Remember not to let them leave there. This group of stupid guys will only cause greater damage. Master Deadwood, you can observe the situation of North Forest and had better count how many animals can't survive. We can help them if necessary in order to help them continue reproducing."

A series of orders were issued.

In the end, the Druid with antlers looked at the beautiful Half-elf Druid next to him and said slowly, "Your Excellency Nightingale, I hope you can have a tour in the Elf Forest. Firstly, you visit Earth Walker and ask him if there are any problems with this sudden change. Then, you go to the Element Gate of Earth to see if that dragon is still dormant."

The Half-elf Druid smiled and summoned a beautiful nightingale who then landed on her shoulder. It combed its feathers with its beak and spun above her head with clear and melodious sound. Soon, the Druid with antlers was the only one who was left. He looked into the distance with concerning eyes while standing still in the balcony. His body was quickly covered with snow.

There were frozen migrant birds out there. Many of them were frozen to death before they could migrate.

It became colder and colder.

A few days ago, a coat could keep them warm. However, many people had to wear winter clothes now. This was merely the beginning of this winter. If it continued becoming colder, it would be a calamity for the humans, half-elves, and dwarfs. Seeing through the white snow, the Druid with antlers saw the snow-covering crops, the villagers who were busy on the field, trying to dig the snow to transport food and vegetable back, the children attired in thin clothes that were afraid of stepping out and warmed themselves by a fire pit inside their houses.

Nature was balanced.

The beasts and monsters were part of nature, so were the humans and half-elves.
