Chapter 1
Memoirs of a female prisoner prologue

The residual snow was melting, the cold screen drawn. No one was looking at the moon.

I, one of the female prisoners, knows what is going on. The screams. The sounds made by someone whose intestines were ripped from them.

“Hey…” Xue Bing walked slowly as her protective anklet dragged on the floor. Step by step. When she did not move, she was pushed by two female prison guards. She felt dead inside. Everything that happened felt like a dream. At that moment, her mind was as blank as paper. She vaguely remembered when that the female judge read out the judgment. Her lips, were red like a cherry, were the only things she could remember from her blurred memory

Her heart was bleeding inside. What the judge said, she could not remember and only the last sentence stood out to her, “For the several crimes committed, I sentence Xue Bing a ten-year prison sentence”. This was deeply imprinted in her mind.

The prison guards pushed her through the long corridor, made a few turns, stopped in front of a room, opened the iron door, pushed her in, and then open the metal shackles. Pointing to the wooden bed by the window, the guard said in a cold voice: “That is your bunk.”

She did not know long she spent lying in the cell. The cold moonlight trickled in through the window. She turned and dully looked at the cell window wondering whether things could have changed…

She was very calm, more awake than ever, and her heart became abnormally clear.

Everything was over. All her love, hate, hatred, sorrow, and pain were all gone with the judge's verdict.

“I knew that this day will come sooner or later, but it is a little earlier than I expected. Oh, I am only 31 years old, the prime of my life. But now my life stops at this moment as l wait for ten years. This long prison life gives me no hope. Once my life here ends, what will my future be…” She muttered this then dared not think about this again, “Let me be safe in this prison with high walls. I don't want to go back to the glitz and glory. Here, I finally find the peace that I have never had before.

She slept very well that night.

Life in the prison was not good but not bad either. Here she can now truly heal or maybe forget her broken soul and dignity. Now she is no longer a person. No name, now a number. She is No. 207.

After a few days in jail, suddenly one day the female prison guard came to her and said that she was moving to another prison. Of course, she was unconditionally obeyed. This new prison was better than the one she had before. The so-called good condition. Some thought it meant that the cell was bigger, the distance between the torture room was a little farther, there was a relaxed sleeping environment, and there was a larger window that overlooked the sun.

She doesn't know who paid.

Was it good luck that she suddenly received such preferential treatment, and the female prison guards developed a better attitude towards her? Anyway, it did not matter to her. She was a dead person now so why would anyone care about her?

After another half a month, the female prison guard told her that someone had come to visit the prison. She was very surprised. She felt that this was very incredulous. 'How could this be possible?'

When she entered the prison, she was on her own but now she was backed by various people in the prison. This was not the day for inspection. Who had such a big face to break through the supervision rules to see her? Presumably this person must have spent a lot of energy to try and meet her.

She is already like this. Who is this person to painstakingly care about a prisoner? Is it a lawyer? She was already sentenced to prison, and her lawyer was still looking for her? That can't be so who on earth is it……..?

Translator note: Hi there y'all! I'm trying something new after seeing the reviews on novelupdates. I'm not particularly sure whether or not l'll continue with this.
