Merit points could also be used to borrow one of the magical books for a certain amount of time.

Merit points were gained by going on expeditions in the woods or mountains and bringing back valuable information or magical objects. Despite being somewhat dangerous this was the best way to get the necessary intel and gain a semi-steady supply of low-grade magical objects.

Thus they were the first group of people other than the special talents who didn't have to go to training in the evenings.

Non-magicians could also earn merit points, in order to get there they would have to do special deeds in battle. They could then use these merit points to live in a better situated house or eventually get to train in a cultivation technique.

Walking around the city, Jay was glad to see how hard everyone was working, there seemed to be no difference with how Humans and Iceborne interacted with each other as it truly seemed the Iceborne had fully integrated themselves into the group.

After ordering Architect Gariel to make a shipyard blueprint he headed into the forest on his own.

He started running at full speed with his aura unleashed, so no animal dared to stop him.

His goal was just beyond this forest, he hadn't forgotten about the horses he had seen what now seemed so long ago on the goblin map.

And indeed, soon enough he passed the forest, before being moderately surprised by what he saw in front of him.

It seemed that just beyond this forest there was a small human town with only about 30 people. What made him smile, however, was that they had 20 horses in a large stable, yet they had yet to build a defensive wall.

Since he was here already, he might as well just take over this village real quick right?
