Zeul City: City of Mavens 9 Chapter 9- Class S

The day of the test was moved, instead of a week, it will be two weeks. Miss Diana and the Personal Attendants made a deal. The test will be hitting two birds in one stone. First is because the test will check our newly developed magic skill. Second is the test will check our fighting.  And that two weeks ends now. Today, is the day of our test. We spent the first week developing the magic skill, and the second on training on how to use it in a battle.

The battle setting will be in a survival field. It is where you fight to kill and survive. But since this is a test, the killing will just be illusionary. It means that even if we hurt them in the field, we wont hurt them in real life, after all we will fight in a different dimension.

The pair to fight was already decided, and the first pair will be

"Azure and Incar" Miss Diana announced. Air vs Earth. They are sent to the Survival Field.

Azure fights in a distance, which is an advantage because of his wind magic. Wind magic is best in range attacks while earth is best in close combat.

Surprisingly, Incar managed to pull off a new trick. His development is making the Earth Element a range magic. Making his disadvantage into an advantage. They exchanged blows, it seems like Azure only improved the basic skills. He is in a dangerous situation.

Weirdly, Azure positioned his hands as if he is holding a sword. I saw the structure of that magic, it is a new one. And it is a very simple structure. He is creating a wind sword.

He focused the energy of the wind into a sword, making the structure looks like one. Also, wind magic is known for its sharpness, making it into an effective sword.

Incar throw some rocks on Azure but Azure cut it with his sword. He then charged towards Incar, dodging every attack Incar throws. And then lastly, stabbed Incar with the sword.

"First Test Victory goes to Azure!" Miss Diana announced.

"It is expected though, I can't imagine seeing Azure lose." Incar's Personal Attendant said. It seems like Azure's Skill is acknowledged even with the Attendants.

"Okay next up! Segnale and Mana." Lightning Vs. Metal.

For this battle, as we all expected, the metal won. Next up in the field is Heist and Zangar. Nature vs. Ice.

The battle started. They are both casters, so they made sure to keep distance.

The venue is a plane of grasses which is one of the weakest nature structures. So the venue doesn't put Heist in too much disadvantage.

The grass are crawling on Heist, just like the Vine Binding. River grass should not be as firm as vines but it looks like Heist is having a hard time. Heist took a deep breath in and a magic circle appeared. Basing on the magic circle's structure, it is a fire breath, but somehow now. Ice breath?

I guessed right, it is an ice breath. The grass bind broke but Heist got slow.

Heist pushed his palm on the ground and a magic circle appeared. Rock Spikes ? No, Ice Spikes?

Ice spikes came running towards Zangar but he blocked it with harden river grass. There's something different with the River Grass' structure. Pollens? No, it's river grass that's scattered.

Heist took another breath in and he inhaled some river grass. Weirdly, he stopped moving. Afterwards, he fell.

Poison, poisonous river grass. That's it! The structure really is altered.

They left the field and Zangar gave the antidote.

"It's our turn next." Lotus said. I just nodded.

We enter the field, a lake in the forest, this gives us both an advantage.

He started, he summoned a water sprout. He utilized air magic as well. By it's structure, it's really a wind vortex.

"Seal of the wind plus seal of fire. Combined together to bring heat towards my opponent. Fire Vortex!" I chanted. Our vortexes clashed.

While clashing, I buffed my self.

"You did well, but how about this one. Multiple Water Vortex." He summoned 5 Water Vortexes. It's a bit smaller but still.

"Then let's fight Quantity with Quality. Seal of the Wind plus Seal of the Fire plus Seal of growth. Gigantic Fire Vortex!" I chanted.

"Three Magic Circles? That's impossible!" He claimed. My Vortex won and is rushing towards him. He managed to utilize the lake, he ran in the center of it.

"Impressive! But that ain't enough to stop me freshman." He said then summoned a magic circle beneath him.

"Total water control" that again is another structure of a wind magic, the total wind control. It utilizes the wind surrounding the caster, it was intentionally made as a wind magic because wind is all around us, unlike other elements. But Lotus managed to utilize the lake. He blocked my gigantic Fire Vortex using the water from the lake.

I hissed.

"Seal of fire, seal of wind, seal of growth, seal of speed." I summoned.

"Four Magic circles? You gotta be kidding me? But still, that ain't enough." He said, positioning himself in a defensive stance.

"Let's see about that! Fire Ball s2!!" I fired five small fireballs with a speed faster than sound.

"Too small." He said, I smirked.

"Grow!" The fireballs grow as soon as it passed through its defense.

"Impossible!" He got hit by the fireball but he managed to block some with the water. The impact pushed him out of his position but he managed to get in position fast.

"Seal of the water and seal of the frost. Water needles." It is an ice magic structure, the Ice Needles. Ice needles summon thin sharp needle-like ice out of mana and since there's a source of water, the needles are more in quantity compared to the regular ice needles. "Taste this"

"Seal of wind seal of fire seal of width seal of the ancient. Fire Wall!" It is another copied structure from air wall. It's supposed to be an attack magic but I added an element to make it counter the water magic. Added by the seal of width, it's area of effect is big, enough to occupy the whole forest, including the lake. And with the seal of the ancient, it can only effect those I recognize as enemy, knocking them off instantly by stealing its mana. Of course, this skill ain't a godlike one. It has a certain condition, the enemy must be a class lower than me, I tested it with Miss Karacule and it only took half of her mana since she's the same class as I am. The stolen mana will come to me so it's kinda beneficial for me, and the restriction is that I can only use this once an hour.

That ended our battle, Lotus was knocked off. We were instantly transported back to me, Miss Diana hurriedly approached us.

"What did you do? You may not hurt him but a fatal move is always fatal. " Miss Diana said.

"Don't worry Miss Diana, what Azrael did is not a fatal attack. Azrael ain't the type to create a fatal magic. He tested that magic attack to me several types only. That attack only steals the mana of the recognized making them sleep for an hour. But the recognized must be a class lower than the caster." Miss Karacule explained for me.

"Recognized? You mean that has a recognition element? At his level? And what? You said that the condition must be a class lower than the caster? Then why did Lotus got knocked out? He's a class B maven while Azrael is a class C!" Miss Diana sound so frustrated, as if whatever is happening is out of ordinary.

"Well that's because Azrael is a Sage. A class S Maven." Miss Karacule said casually.

"CLASS S? At that age? Are you serious? Just-just WHO THE HELL IS HIS MENTOR?!!!!!!" Miss Diana exclaimed, her veins are starting to be visible.

"Well, I an wondering too." They all looked at me, I didn't say a word.

"Uhm. He mentioned that his mentor is his mother, If I remember correctly, her name is Aika, yes Aika Gideon." Heist answered for me.

"Aika Gideon? who that?" Miss Karacule asked.

"Is Aika Rose Gideon her real name?" Azure asked. I was surprised he knows that name. I nodded.

"Why Azure? Do you know her? Do you a connection with her?" Miss Diana asked. Azure nodded. He stared at me for a long time, as if he's familiarizing me.

"Aika Rose Gideon. she's a family friend."
