"Keith."

"Yes?" He gently asked. 

And Rebecca, who had been silent for several minutes, turned silent once again. 

He patiently waited for her to say what she had to say, not disturbing her thoughts. 

"Keith." 

"Yes, Rebecca?" He smiled and asked. 

"I want a baby." She meekly whispered, catching him by surprise, but then he playfully chuckled. 

"Is that so?" He teasingly asked. 

"Mhm." She nodded her head but kept her face buried in his neck. "Not now. Not anytime soon, but someday, I want to have our child." Mustering up some more courage, she whispered her words. 

"Okay." He nodded to her and planted a kiss on her head. 

"You don't mind?" She curiously asked. 

"Should I?" He confusedly asked back. 

"No." She giggled and shook her head. "And I want my daughter to have my beautiful eyes, not yours." She mischievously said. 

"A daughter?" He lightly smiled. "And what's wrong with my eyes?" 

"They are just boring brown." She giggled. "And yes, a daughter. Way more beautiful than me." 

"Is that so?" He chuckled. "Well, since she's going to be my daughter, of course, she's going to be way more beautiful than you." 

"Hey!" She angrily smacked her fist in his chest and separated from his arms, narrowing her eyes at him. "What do you mean by that?" 

Keith just laughed at her reaction, not answering her, and Rebecca too could not keep her stubborn expression as she eventually broke into giggles. 

"You are a little too narcissistic." She said and then planted a kiss on the tip of his nose. 

"I only state the facts." He shrugged. "Well, it's time we start practising on how to make a baby!" He said and grabbed her before pinning her under his weight, locking her arms above her head. 

For some reason, Rebecca burst out into fits of laughter and did not resist him as he made his way between her legs. 

Perhaps, it was her defensive mechanism.

She briefly close her eyes to deal with the pain but opened them again as she continued staring into his eyes, and to her disbelief, his deep brown eyes started changing shades before settling into a haunting amethyst colour.

Once he touched the door to her womb, he let go of her wrists, and she immediately started punching him with her soft fists.

He could not help but break out in chuckles at her antics.

The young man in front, who looked to be in his mid-twenties, with distinctive Chinese features and tall and muscular stature, suddenly stopped. 

"What happened, Captain?" His subordinate curiously asked, and then watched in horror as the young man threw up a mouthful of blood and dropped down on his knees. "Ye Tian!" He worriedly called out and immediately rushed up to his Captain and dear friend. "What's wrong with you?!" 

He could not understand how Ye Tian suddenly seemed like he was grievously wounded when he had not suffered any injury in the mission they had just completed.

The young man named Ye Tian stared blankly at the blood he had just thrown up, and then his eyes inadvertently glanced the south. 

It was not the direction of his home...

He had been feeling very hollow for the past few months, and right now, he felt like someone had ripped his soul and stolen something very precious to him. It was as if he had lost a part of himself that he would never regain. 

And for the first time in his life, Ye Tian felt cold all over his body. 

"Take me out of here, Tiger..." He managed to say before he lost consciousness. 

The man codenamed Tiger nodded his head and then put his friend over his shoulder before running out of the forest as fast as he could.
