Genius or Fool
“If the reward is 10 chim, I need to at least 100 times to reach 10 mark…but it will be easier for me if I can bring at least one person to help me”

Shou is upset while counting his money, he didn’t know how much 1 mark worth is.

“now this make 5 mark…”

Becuase his military instructor have been training him without break, Shou cannot do his job as much as he likes.

But, Miya haven’t notice that Shou is taking errands for the court ladies.

“What !? You are asking a prince to do errands?”

Miya shock when she heard about this and the fact that all the court ladies and the chamberlain admit about this make it worse.
she though there is something since Shou is in and out the royal palace excessively, even after she scold the court ladies, Miya still shock when she think about that.

“And the reward is only 10 chim….is there something Shou wants? if he just said what and i will buy it for him”

Shou indeed doing this for Salim-aniue, becuase that not the business you want to do when you are going to save some money.
If the other prince want something, their family or their grandfathers will buy it for them, Since Shou doesn’t have any relative he can asked for Miya blame herself for her lack of consideration for Shou.

…..The child of Aslan-sama, to become the maid for the court ladies…you can’t do that….

Aslan come at the bad timing to the Royal palace when Miya still depressed.

…. He is usually like a man you can rely, but he likes to come and go as he please but always come back when there is a problem.
Is he sharp? or he is just dense? anyway, Aslan should not know about this matter…

Miya worried if Aslan who is a man with high pride heard that his son is working as an errand boy.

But, Miya forget how Aslan is like to appear at the unexpected moments.
Miya knows about Shou’s work from the royal palace activity, but Aslan notice something weird when he sees Shou going in and out the capital.

“To have that look, but he’s still young”

Aslan who see Shou buy some red spice from a store asked the clerk about what happened while he buy some souvenir for Miya.

…..If Shou is 10 year old that would make him a very precocious child but he is only 8 year old…

“Miya I bring you some souvenir”

Throw it as if nothing, Miya catch the spice and some high class perfume and when she notice it, she’s surprised how can he just throw it like nothing.

“Yeah well, Thank you”

Aslan interest how Miya feign ignorance even though the last time he’s here it seem she doesn’t know it.

“Did you know about Shou?”

Miya is bringing some tea to Aslan but her hand suddenly slipped.

“ara, i’m sorry.i can’t quite hear what you just said…”

While giving tea to Aslan, Miya tried to avoid giving the information about Shou’s work to him.

“Just said it honestly”

It was easier to make Miya talk when Aslan suddenly said something like that.

“It seem Shou is doing errand for the court ladies and the chamberlains.I just know it recently.I will make it stop immediately”

Miya apologize to Aslan for her carelessness.

“It’s not your fault.It’s Shou lack of self awareness that he is a prince.There is no prince that want to do such work”

Aslan isn’t even angry, he is amazed by it.Miya troubled with Aslan way of talk.

“There is must be something that he want, it’s my fault for not noticing it.I need keeping an eye for Shou”

When Miya notice that the servant mood is raising, Miya tell the truth to Aslan.

“Asking for a reward? my son?”

Aslan laugh.

“what a weird person, i will talk to him”

This is the first time Miya see Aslan this cheerful at least the last time he felt this cheerful is when Sanzu being born.

“Are you a fool! why would a prince doing a work as if he’s some door to door salesman!”

Shou surprised when his father suddenly came to the Royal villa.

…..Damn it, it seem someone told him…

“I’m sorry, i should not ask for a reward”

The 8 year old Shou suddenly felt downhearted while giving look as if he is some lost puppy.Aslan look to Shou’s black eye and think he can never win from such an eye.

….Is he really my son? why did i have the urge to hold him ? though if it’s a princess i can spoil her but his appearance is like a princess….but he is a prince…get a grip myself!!

“Is there something that you want? Miya think that she isn’t concern enough for you and became depressed”

“Eh~ even though i’m make sure to not making Miya worry to much by not selling the Royal villa furniture. It’s not something that i want but i want some money for my business”

Aslan smile wryly when he heard that Shou considering to sold the furniture inside the royal villa since he also though about that before.

“Business you say..your still a child, an 8 year old child.You should focusing at your study right now”

By the time the prince reach 12 year old they will already divided what they want to be either a merchant or soldier, but on the other hand Shou interestingly chose to be a businessman.

“To be able to get at least 10 mark, i need to buy a lot of fresh cheese on Keri island.On lyte it will be sold for around 20 mark which is better, and even more if I’m able to sold it if it’s still fresh by using Sanzu to get it, I’m sure it will sold for 30 mark each. another one is buying a 20 mark cheese and sold it for 60 mark which make my profit around 40 mark.Now to get 100 Mark, i need to get an ice from Wanda island on the south and bring it back home and make a shaved ice. and by keep doing this i will be able to save up 1000 mark for buying a ship…”

Shou became silent when he notice that his father is surprise.

…is it because of Hassan influence? you are failed as a prince if you have that small viewpoint…

“What are you going to do when you have a ship?”

Arrogantly he demand an answer.
Shou open a map then explain his idea.

“I want to find a new sea route. While Irbania making the Prius canal which make travel more easily, but they take a fee for it and here i though if you go east from the southeast island you can arrived at the Gaultier continent. But, the thing is, the condition of the sea that we must cross to go to the Gaultier island is a bit dangerous, and you may want to avoid using the southern sea, i think there is some undiscovered island found or something…” (TLN:damn son)

Shou think that maybe his idea is bit stupid for his father since he doesn’t say anything.

……People in this world think that the world is flat and all after all.

but if the distance in the map and the size of this world is accurate, going to the east it’s should be very near to reach the Gaultier island…

“Shou, why, why did you think that if we go to the east we will reach the Gaultier island”

Can you understand? that i want to tell father that by the size of the earth is round like a melon not flat.

“I heard from the Paloma university.when a world is round…it’s called earth”

“Father, there should be an arc if you sea the horizon and when a ship as if sinking to the horizon I’m sure you have seen them many time. The size of earth can also be measured by the angle of sunlight (TLN: angular diameter), i calculate the longitude which is 1 silo even i calculated from another area and becuase of that it should be more near for us to go the east to reach the Gaultier island”

Show bring his calculation from the desk and explain it.

….This fool, it seem he isn’t your everyday fool…

….When he said that this was from his previous world memories, i’m sure he will branded as crazy..

“No, i heard story about earth from somewhere and i also happens to hear about the method to calculated it which i tried it and from the Karin-aniue he teach me how to calculated the potion of the sun”

Though Aslan notice that Shou is lying about something, he is too excited about the possibility of a new sea route.

“Are you intend to cross the using a small ship?”

Shou shrug his neck.

“I think any ship is fine and at least a crew and food. I will put several animal for food and I intend to go out using Sanzu on daytime. Sleep at the ship when it’s night, but it may take 2 weeks by my calculation…”

“do you never think that a ship will blow up like a leaf if there some storm coming?”

…..Storm? i haven’t think about that.
That was dangerous…

“I think that it’s a good idea….a new sea route, it should be able to used by Salim-aniue to get money easier…”

….Damn! it’s should be a secret…

Aslan laugh when the youngest prince worry about the first prince

“Is Salim is such an idiot to be worried by you?”

“No! it’s not like that, i just though that i should at least help a little…”

Looking at the downhearted Shou, Aslan chest feels funny.
This is why he is no good!

“If you able to discover a new sea route, what do you think that i will gain from that?
with that kind achievement, you think that you can succeed me?”

….Successor! what a joke….

Seeing Shou is shiver by the idea and quickly refuse it, Aslan think that this child will have hardship in the future.

…i am too the youngest child when that old man decided that i will succeed him and thanks to that i receive great deal of trouble.
Being spoiled by Miya, i’m not like it…

“it seem you are not completely a fool no, maybe you’re a genius?”

Seeing his father in good mood, for some reason he feel a shivered from his back

“And don’t take errand again from the court ladies or the chamberlains.
Just sell something from the Royal villa.I also sold a lot from the royal villa, it’s fine there is still many from the storage but stop thinking to use a small boat to reach the Gaultier continent, If you died, Miya and Ruby will cry”

Shou sit down after seeing his father off to the Royal palace.

“i have bad feeling about this…”

Sanzu tried to comfort Shou about it.
