Her blushing face dropped. Song Yu pushed his chest away and turned around to leave. Qi Chengzhi quickly got hold of her waist, "What's wrong? Where are you going?" 

"Nothing. I don't want to lean on you right now, " she sulked. 

"A moment ago, you were just saying how you can't live without me. You wanted to castrate me just to keep me by your side. Why's it that your attitude changes so swiftly? Why don't you want to lean on me now?" Qi Chengzhi held on to her tight. Regardless of how hard Song Yu tried to wrestle her way out, he had her trapped in his embrace. "Good girl. Just stay here. Don't move around." 

Song Yu did not want to listen as she thought it was mean for him not to reciprocate her statement. She did not have doubts about whether he loved her or not, but as it was in the moment, she just wanted to hear him say it. After all, she had said it herself! As a result, she kept trying to force her way out. 

"Your movements are making me hard." He pressed on her using his heated palms. He let her feel his development. 

Song Yu only hesitated a little. All of a sudden, she held out her hand and grabbed his crotch, and meanwhile, she tried escaping to the side. 

Qi Chengzhi gasped. He did not know whether to cry or laugh, as he never expected that move from her. At the same time, being in her embrace was extremely enjoyable. 

As he turned around and got ready for another round, Song Yu's phone rang. 

Song Yu stopped with her grappling and tried to push him away, "Let me get the phone." 

"..." Qi Chengzhi remained still. He kept her within his embrace.

"It's a call from home," said Song Yu, "that's the ringtone I set for calls from home." 

Qi Chengzhi finally let go. Song Yu picked up the phone by her bedside and answered the call, "Hello."

"Dad? What's up?"

"Can you ask Chengzhi later, when will he be free for a meal? Your mom will be cooking. I've been convincing her. On the other side of the phone, Song Donglin was silent for a while. In the past, he did not have much interaction with Qi Chengzhi. Before the Song family went bankrupt, Qi Chengzhi was still the principal of Jixia High School. As a result, the two did not interact much in the business. 

He did not recall if Qi Chengzhi had been so thick-skinned all the while.

Song Donglin did not expect him to be so hasty. He was a little befuddled, before he replied, "Okay, sure!" 

When the two had finished discussing the matter, Qi Chengzhi hung up, and all he saw was Song Yu wrapping herself into a dumpling 1 .

"Are you still being difficult?" He placed the phone back and stared at Song Yu. 

Song Yu bowed her head, only showing him her velvety hair. 

Qi Chengzhi huffed in place of his laughter. He grabbed ahold of her, together with the blanket, and gave her a passionate kiss. This time around, she did not dodge. 

"Must I say it?" He seized her closely. "If I don't love you, will I spend so much time going after you? If I don't love you, how can I go on, even if it means going against my family? If I don't love you, will I be bothered to curry favor with your family?" 

Song Yu finally cuddled him. What he had done for her was more than what the word of love could ever express. 

It seemed difficult for a man like him to go around talking about love.

In the morning when Qi Chengzhi was dropping her off at work, they had agreed that as Qi Chengzhi would get off late, Chang Lai would pick her up and drop her off at Qilin for the two to head home together. 

When Chang Lai picked her up in the evening, he was driving Qi Chengzhi's Range Rover.

Yang Yunshu was not too concerned with Ruan Danchen going. She quickly grabbed another female coworker and asked, "What's going on between Song Yu and Young Master Cheng?" 

"Who knows? It does seem like what Wang Liwei said about the two has some truth to it. For Qilin to assign such an important project to a newbie like Song Yu, who would believe the two have only business interaction?" 

"If that's the case, Song Yu got the contract by sleeping with the client and not through her ability?" Yang Yunshu was a little dissatisfied. She sneered, "When I just joined the company, I often heard people talk about how Song Yu is capable and how her designs are popular among the clients. It seems like what's popular among the clients is something else. I guess the reason why everyone in the company is siding her is because of Young Master Cheng. Who knew what she did to obtain the previous contracts?" Wang Liwei was perhaps chased out by Song Yu through some underhanded tricks. 

The female coworker next to her turned around and took a glance at her. She did not want to offend Song Yu, and Yang Yunshu was just a newbie who she had no close relationships with. Yang Yunshu was still gazing at the road even after the Range Rover had left. She kept looking, and she seemed deep in thought. 

Sitting in the car, Song Yu was unaware of the brief episode at the company's entrance. 

She took a look at the calendar on her phone—it would be Qi Chengzhi's birthday soon. She was having difficulties thinking about how to celebrate his birthday.

The last Valentine's day was enough of a headache. This was another significant date, but until then, she still had no idea what to do. 

"Chang Lai, how did your director celebrate his previous birthdays?" Since Song Yu had some leisure time on hand, she began to chat up Chang Lai. She could potentially get some useful information out of this. 

Chang Lai glimpsed at Song Yu through the rear mirror. He scratched his temples and said, "Uhm, the director never really did anything special. If he's free, he will go home for dinner. Most of the time he has business meetings, so he skips it." 

Song Yu did not expect such an answer. His handsome face popped up in her mind. For thirty-five years, he had never had a proper birthday celebration, and no one had ever done anything for him? 

It was not surprising for her that they had neglected his birthday. The Qi family had always been emphasizing more on the various aspects of education. 

As the Qi and the Song family had good relations, she had known Qi Chengzhi since young. Thinking about it, there were no such instances where the Qi family had celebrated Qi Chengzhi's birthday. 

She felt sorry for him. She wanted to hug him. 

"How about presents?" It sprung into her mind. "There should be plenty of presents? What did they give?" 

Chang Lai seemed in distress as he scratched his temples. "Uhm… There was nothing. Our director is a very private person, so nobody knows about his birthday. It's quite impossible even if they try to inquire. Hence, even if someone wants to give him a present, they won't be able to do so. About his family, I have no idea at all what they've given him, or whether they've done so. This isn't something the director would share with me." 

Song Yu thought about how dispassionate Qi Chengzhi looked. He always carried a stern and cold face, with a reserved attitude. Even when she was with him, he did not talk much. Not to mention when he was with others. 

When they arrived at Qilin, Chang Lai weaved a sigh of relief, and he could finally escape Song Yu's interrogation. 

When she came to Qilin, Song Yu just sat down on a sofa near the entrance. It seemed like she did not intend to go up to Qi Chengzhi's office. 

"Song Yu, aren't you going up?" Chang Lai came to ask. 

Song Yu took a look at her watch and shook her head. "I will wait here. Since he's almost done, if I visit him now, it will just be bothering him." 

Chang Lai did not say anything else. He quickly got someone to serve Song Yu some tea. He then went to a corner some distance away and dialed Qi Chengzhi's number. "Young Master Cheng, Miss Song is here, but she's waiting at the lobby. She doesn't want to head up as she's afraid to hinder your work." 

"Has she arrived?" Qi Chengzhi's flat voice could be heard on the phone. 

"Yes." Chang Lai thought for a while, stealing a glance at Song Yu, which was some distance away. As he realized she was not looking at his direction, he spoke with a lower voice, "When we were on the way here, Miss Song kept asking me about your birthday." 

Qi Chengzhi raised his thick, black eyebrows. His mouth curled into a smile, but he immediately retracted it. He glanced at the manager in front of him and stood up slowly. He turned to face the French window and looked at the scenery within his sight. The curl returned as he smiled, delightedly, "Good job. Keep at it." 

The manager opposite him was contemplating—did the director smile just now? Was it an illusion?

When Qi Chengzhi hung up, he turned around, and instead of taking a seat, he replied, "You wait for me here. I will be back in a moment." He then left the manager. 

After Chang Lai hung up, he saw the employee at the reception coming over to make discreet inquiries. He was curious as to who Song Yu was, seeing that Chang Lai had personally accompanied her. 

Chang Lai glanced at him in an unfathomable manner. He patted his shoulder, "Pay close attention. She is the director's future wife. You go and tell everyone else. If Miss Song comes by herself, don't stop her and let her go up immediately." 

The employee almost jumped in shock as he learned about it. He snapped and turned to look at Song Yu. Chang Lai grabbed his face and said, "Be discreet! Don't make Miss Song feel uncomfortable!" 

"Is this the director's precious girlfriend as fabled by Manager Luo?" The employee asked in a soft voice as he observed Song Yu covertly. 

She was sitting there quietly, in a modest manner. From this angle, he could only see Song Yu's side profile. He could not see her features in detail. 

Song Yu had a tranquil and mellow disposition, and the discernible features on her fair face seemed delicate and refined. 

She had her hair tied up into a dutch braid. The tip of her hair fell just above her shoulder, revealing her silky neck. Her hair was neither long nor short. 

A few strands of hair that were slightly longer than her earlobe were dangling by her ear. She looked just like an inexperienced and young student. 

Was she the director's type? 

He had to admit that Song Yu was good looking—she carried an unusual disposition, which drew people into wanting to protect her. However, he could never relate her to someone like Qi Chengzhi.

Qi Chengzhi was resolute and reserved. His aura was overbearing, and it felt like only a career woman of equal stature could withhold that domineering aura.

For a woman as innocent as Song Yu, it did not seem like she could withstand it. 

When the employees were still muttering, they caught a familiar sight at the corner of their eyes. When their eyes caught sight of Qi Chengzhi, one hand in the pocket of his slack, taking strides with his long legs straight toward Song Yu.

Along the way, he did not even glance sideways. All his focus was on Song Yu. 

It was as if the sun had melted the thin ice on his impersonal, distant face as he saw Song Yu.

It was the first time the employees of Qilin present saw their director with a cordial smile. Warmth filled even the ebony, razor-sharp eyes that people would not dare to look straight into. His eyes also curled into a slight crescent. 

People noticed the shift in his expressions, even though it was minor. Perhaps it was because his face was too icy and impersonal usually, that even this slight shift was noticeable. 

Some of them recalled how Qi Chengzhi treated Yu Keyao the last time. There were no smiles, and Qi Chengzhi's expression was even more severe than usual. Also, he could not remember who Yu Keyao was. The difference in treatment was astounding. 

Everyone's mouth fell open. They stared at the development without blinking. Some of them even began texting those who were not present to come down for the drama. 

Song Yu, at that moment, had only Qi Chengzhi in her eyes. Since he appeared, everyone else became invisible. 

She was embarrassed as she saw Qi Chengzhi strode straight toward her with his long legs.

Watching him walking toward her under the public's watch was a fascinating experience. The tension felt as if Qi Chengzhi was walking toward her at their wedding. 

Her heart was pounding harder. She had her eyes glued on him, and it was impossible to look away. She felt a rush of blood in her face, and her breathing was increasingly hurried. 

As Qi Chengzhi stood in front of her, she could smell the familiar scent of Qi Chengzhi—one that was a mixture of tobacco and clean, fresh cologne and it caused her to feel a little tipsy. 

Song Yu could feel her scalp heating up as she sensed the attention from the surrounding crowd. 

"Are you free?" She asked with a low voice.

"No." He lowered his head and looked at her, who had lowered her head. Within sight was her gleaming, fair forehead, small but elegant nose and her delicate lips which were faintly discernible under the nose. 

"Why did you come down?" she asked softly. She wanted to touch him the moment she saw him, but in consideration of the crowd, she suppressed the desire. 

Qi Chengzhi did not have any apprehension. He reached out to hold both her hands with interlocking fingers.

"Why didn't you go up since you're here?" he asked a question in reply. 

Song Yu's palms felt scorching hot. Her eyes remained at the level of his chest. She pinched his hand softly, "I'm afraid to bother you when you're working." 

"Well, shouldn't it bother me more to pick you up myself?" As he spoke, he dragged her toward the elevator. 

Song Yu was somewhat anxious under the attention. His deep and magnetic voice rang by her ear, "Next time, go straight to my floor. It won't affect my work. Otherwise, if you're down here, I'd miss you more. It'd make me lose focus." 

"Uhm." Song Yu nodded obediently. She strengthened her grip against the hand that was holding hers. She felt warm and fuzzy from his sweet words. 

Qi Chengzhi brought her into the elevator. The moment the elevator door closed, Qi Chengzhi pulled her toward him. He let go of her hand, and his arms circled her waist, pinning her against his abdomen. 

"Lift your head up. I wanna kiss you." He leaned against the corner of her eye. His fiery breath fell on her eyelid and temple.

His thin and burning lips began to rub against her white, clean face uncontrollably as he gazed at it. The smooth sensation of her skin, like suet, was all over his lips.

Knowing that it was his private elevator that would head straight to his floor, she let go of her shy mannerisms.

Her face was scalding from his rubbing. Tremblingly, she looked up. Before she had the chance to take a good look at his face, his lips came pressing. He was savoring her lips intensely, which then followed by a brutal intrusion into her mouth. His tongue brushed around without restraint. 

He finally let go when she struggled to catch a breath. His moist and burning lips were still inching around on her face, not missing any bit.

His clean and strong hands massaged her back as it moved up and down. He kneaded her softness and kissed every inch of her face forcefully. His kisses made her a helpless doll. She lost all power within herself.
