"Raina is a excellent student, but requires a certain style of teaching . Not allowing her to ask questions or expecting her to practice embroidery instead of the normal lessons will not keep her attention . " Kyera explained tactfully . The Emperor seemed intensely curious . Kyera knew she was going to have to tread lightly . The Emperor himself had chosen these tutors . To call them out directly was not going to go well .
"I see . Why did you feel you couldn't ask questions, Princess?" he asked seriously . His power was flustered and slightly putting pressure on Raina . Kyera frowned and kept her power shielding the little one, pushing back on him . His power disappeared the moment it touched him and he realized it was happening . The Emperor's gaze dashed to Kyera who did not avoid eye contact, the fire in her eyes a clear warning .
Advertisement"It wasn't that I couldn't ask questions . I could ask as many as I liked . " Raina replied and he sighed a bit relieved . A annoyed glance redirected at Kyera . "But the teachers never answered me . When I asked them they said my cousin's tutoring was more important to the kingdom and I should know my place . " Raina replied her voice dropping a bit to a monotone note . His eyes widened slightly and Kyera folded her arms her eyes obviously rebuking him .
"Your Place?" he asked and Raina nodded .
"I am a princess . I don't have to be smart, just pretty and graceful . " Raina explained . Kyera's blood began to bubble, she restrained the urge to speak . The Emperor looked thoughtful .
"That is true, you don't have to be . However if your interested I see no reason you should not have the chance to learn . " he replied gently . Kyera watched him annoyance in her eyes .
"That isn't quite true . If she doesn't have the same teaching as the other children, she will have a hard time during the Heir games . She's the eldest and has not been taught to read . " The Empress Pointed out rather disgusted by his passiveness to this issue . She had no intention of leaving the child in that situation .
"I will talk to the Teachers and ensure they pay attention to her as well . Does that sound better, Raina? Please make sure you tell me if things don't improve . " he replied making it rather clear to her . Raina nodded obediently but the Empress Dowager did not look convinced .
"No . That isn't good enough . She is too far behind . We need to get someone to privately tutor her . " The Empress Dowager insisted as the meal was placed at the table . The maid began filling their plates while the conversation continued . The Emperor and Empress Eve seemed to both agree with her .
"Actually, if I may?" Kyera offered gaining their attention . The royals seemed to acknowledge her so Kyera continued . "I was trained in basic learning, history, strategy, and manners as well as medicine . My teacher is staying in a village near here . I am certain he would be happy to teach such a bright child . " Kyera replied and Clovis looked at her curiously . He had a feeling he knew where she was going with this . Seeing hesitation on his father's face he decided to lend a hand .
"Do you mean Elder Daxin? He would be a excellent choice, but I am not sure he would agree . As brilliant as my daughter is, he would need further persuasions . " he points out "Afterall he taught the Forest's Princess, the one who leads her people, not a Princess with a hidden destiny . " his words were careful and deliberate, baiting his father's pride . Even Kyera saw that clearly and didn't correct him .
"If it be Persuasions he needs, I will speak to him . If my son wishes this man teach his daughter, we will make it so . " The Emperor replied and Raina smiled her eyes shined with excitement . Kyera nodded .
"Thank you, My Lord Emperor . I appreciate your help in this matter . " Kyera replied humbly, granted, in truth all she had to do was ask Daxin and he would gladly agree . There would be nothing to it, but at the same time making the Emperor feel as though he had done it himself would help their cause .
