The Journey of Flower Chapter 68

I find this chapter particularly action-packed. Its also one of my favourite chapters because it shows how even though Hua Qian Gu is desperate to save BZH she is not willing to let go of who she is – she spares Wen Feng Yu. Wen Feng Yu also shows that immortals are not spared from the entanglements of the heart and many immortals have their own set of regrets and people they have loved and lost. Well. Enjoy =)

Hua Qian Gu carefully placed Bai Zi Hua on the pallet and covered him with a blanket. Every since, he was poisoned, he has never seen his so ungaurded. He was sleeping peacefully. He had fallen form the cloud high above because of her. She did not want to see his so weak and fragile. her heart ached as she tidied his hair. She would do anything she could for him. As long as he was well. As long as he remained the Bai ZI Hua who set on top of the six realms.

“Shi Fu, wait for Xiao Gu, I will definitely get the Nu Wa stone back.” She kneeled in front of his bed and kowtowed before flying out of Chang Liu on a sword with Tang Bao.

————————————————————————————————————————————————–
Shuo Feng was waiting for her. If one did not know, you would think they were eloping. However, they might as well be said to be venturing into death.

On their joinery neither of them said anything. Hua Qian Gu looked back at the beautiful Chang Liu Mountain that sat between the sea and the sky, feeling her heart ache. Chang Liu Mountain was still the same as when she came. Only she could not return.

Hua Qian Gu took out the Kun Lun mirror once they reached a remote area in the distance. Tian Shan, Chang Bai Mountain and Chang Liu Mountain were bit far and given her speed on the sword, she would take very long to gather the instruments. Moreover given her Shi Fu’s powers, he would at most sleep for three days only. However in three days, the news of the instruments being lost would turn the immortal relax upside down. Hence she chose to use the Kun Lun Mirror.

Hua Qian Gu followed the instrcutions on the restricted books and started removing the seal on the instruments. In that instance the entire sky darkened and ferocious winds howled. Lightning began flashing and thunder rumbling. This was the reason they chose somewhere so far from Chang Liu to break the seal. Hua Qian Gu put her two hands together in a handsigh and chanted the spell.

The Kun Lun Mirror started spinning and the dark surface of the mirror started glowing. After four hours, the seal was finally broken. She then broke the seal on the Cui Lei Bell. By the time she was done, the sky was already dark.
“Ok, we can set off now.” Hua Qian Gu reached out to take Tang Bao over from Shuo Feng.

However he refused stating that if he handed Tang Bao over, she would disappear with it. She then promised not to act without him.

She held on to his sleeve and in an instant both of them vanished.

Her body felt slightly like it was being ripped apart and her brain whited out. But she quickly returned to normal. They were surrounded by complete darkness.

“Where is this?”

“Shhh…..” Hua Qian Gu darted through the cave quickly. There wasn’t any light around them. But both of them had reached the level of Zhi Wei (awareness level of immortal cultivation), so they could see clearly. All around them was the sound of dripping water and oddly shaped limestones. They took many turns before finally walking out. Hua Qian Gu seemed very familiar with the terrain.
“Don’t use any spells.” Hua Qian Gu instructed softly. They walked out of the cave and crossed a suspension bridge that hung between the two peaks on the tip of their toes.

“This is Chang Bai Mountain. In front is the Tai Huang Peak. Sect Leader Wen is currently in seclusion. It will be easier for us.”

“You have come here before?”

“No, I just carefully researched on the geography nearby.”
Kun Lun Mirror can only go to places which you have an impression of. She has never been to Chang Liu Mountain or Tian Mountain, hence, since she decided to stead the instruments, she has carefully studied all the information and picture that Dong Fang and Tang Bao gathered, so that she could have a clear understanding of the position and spells of around the area. She was probably even more familiar than the disciples of the sect.

“So you had it all planned out. I thought….”

Hua Qian Gu looked at him and smiled: “You thought that I was being rash and afraid that I would be in danger. Thats why you follow me to protect me?”
Shuo Feng turned around and pretended to look at the sky. So he was being worried for nothing.

“Don’t worry. This concerns Shi Fu’s life and death. I will not be reckless. Even if I die, I will make sure i do not die in vain. Hence, I absolutely will not fail this time.”

They flew to where Wen Feng Yu was in seclusion. Tang Bao lay in Hua Qian Gu’s ear reminding her of any movements in the surroundings.

Suddenly, they heard a gust of wind blow past them. Hua Qian Gu shuddered. Before them, there was an extremely skinny man standing atop a branch. He was clothed in green, his robes billowing in the wind. He was so skinny, it seemed like he was all cloth and no body.

“Wen Sect Leader?!” Hua Qian Gu was shocked. She had seen him twice on the Immortal;’s Banquet. Hence she respectfully bowed to him. She suddenly recalled she was here this time as a thief.

He originally thought that she was here on Bai Zi Hua’s behalf.

Hua Qian Gu took out the Cui Lei Bell. Hypnotism combined with the Cui Lei Bell was the most effective. even the strongest wills could be broken.

Wen Feng Yu had quickly put up a strong light barrier around himself. However the light was gradually worn down by the Bell’s chiming and Hua Qian Gu’s singing.

He started dancing aournd in the air like a headless fly as though he was chasing something or quarreling with someone.

“Xi Rui…. Xi Rui…. Xi Rui…” Wen Feng Yu called out again and again, his expression painful and lost. Even such a lofty immortal could have such a fragile side. Shuo Feng was rooted to the spot in shock.

“Where is the Dong Huang Clock?” Hua Qian Gu asked gently.

“In my Xu Ding.”

“Take it out and give it to me.”

Wen Feng Yu  shook his head lightly, his brows creased tightly together as though he was resisting something. the chime of the Cui Lei Bell became more anxious.

“Give me the Dong Huan Clock.” Hua Qian Gu cajoled him.

Wen Feng Yu finally took out a ball of light from his Xu Ding. Hua Qian Gu quickly placed it in her Xi Ding.

She did not expect Weng Feng Yu to grab her wrist: “Xi Rui, Xi Rui…. Don’t leave me. I was wrong. I know I was wrong. Without you, becoming an immortal and the sect leader is meaningless! I was wrong. Don’t leave me. Two hundred years. An entire two hundred years. This century of loneliness. Do you know how miserable I feel. I really miss you… Xi Rui, don’t leave me again!!”

Hua Qian Gu allowed him to tug and pull her because she was so afraid she did not dare move. On this thin and elegant middle aged man’s face were streaks of tears.

Shuo Feng sealed his sleeping occupant and shook Hua Qian Gu telling her there was no time.

Hua Qian Gu then hypnotised him and placed him under a tree. She then cast a cloaking spell over him.

Shuo Feng questioned her on where she had learned these skills which were obviously forbidden. Hua Qian Gu then sighed and answered that without these, it would be impossible to get the instruments.

“You let him see his most beloved person?”

“Humans are most easily beguiled by the weakest part of their heart and defeated by the most important person to them.” Hua Qian Gu guiltily looked down. In order to get the instruments, she had read through both sect leader’s most important and private secrets. Otherwise it would be impossible to get them to handover the instruments without killing them. She was not willing to kill them.

Two hundred years. A hundred years of loneliness. A hundred years of heartbreak…. Wen Feng Yu’s tear filled face kept appearing before her, making her heart ache.

“Let’s go. we need to hurry.” Shuo Feng knew she felt terrible, but did not know how to comfort her, hence she patted her shoulder.

Hua Qian Gu nodded. The next instrument, Kong Tong Seal would not be so easy.
