The moment the Black Orc’s fist hit Bhang Hyunwook’s chest, he didn’t feel the pain.

Because his heart stopped.

The thing that made his heart beat again was the energy that was coiled inside his stomach.

The energy cared for its owner more than anything else, that was why it had rushed towards the heart as soon as it stopped beating. Bhang Hyunwook’s heart.

And then knocked.

Baboom!

The energy made the stopped heart beat again.

“HAAA!”

Bhang Hyunwook was able to taste an indescribable amount of pain and fear.

But the energy didn’t stop there.

Baboom Baboom!

The energy constantly knocked on Bhang Hyunwook’s heart. It made his heart pump even harder!

With the constant effort of the strength, Bhang Hyunwook’s heart started to crazily pump blood.

‘Argh!’

It was as if someone squeezed his heart hard to get the blood out.

Or like someone put a hot stone where the heart should be.

The burning blood quickly circulated through Bhang Hyunwook’s body.

His head was about to explode, the tips of his fingernails and toenails felt like they were going to shoot out like a bullet and his eyes had turned crimson red.

“Uh………….”

What greeted Bhang Hyunwook was the bloody battle between Kim Taehoon and the Black Orc.

The scene was brutal enough for him to lose his mind.

The battle was more silent with less movement than any other battle he had seen.

Kim Taehoon and the Black Orc couldn’t move.

They also made very little sound.

The Black Orc made a grunting sound rather than a scream, Kim Taehoon only made grinding noises between his clenched teeth, and even those sounds were obscured by all the other noise made by people running away.

If anybody else watched the scene, they might have thought the battle was some sort of show.

Or a video game addict might think it was a lagged screen or possibly even a paused game.

But Bhang Hyunwook, who had witnessed the situation closer than anyone else, knew that this wasn’t a show nor a lagged game screen.

‘It won’t last long’

Bhang Hyunwook knew about Kim Taehoon’s telekinetic ability.

Kim Taehoon’s telekinesis was powerful.

But it also had weaknesses.

The biggest weakness was that it couldn’t affect the inside of the body of a living thing. It created great physical power outside, but it was not possible to affect the inside of the body. Not yet at least.

If it were possible, Kim Taehoon wouldn’t have wasted his time and just crushed the Black Orc’s heart or brain.

At the same time, telekinesis was extremely hard to control.

The moment the image you had in your mind blurred the power ended and you could not expect any other security.

With average concentration, it was hard enough to sustain the power.

How long could Kim Taehoon hold this terrifying Black Orc?

Three minutes at the longest.

‘What should I do?’

In that three minutes, Bhang Hyunwook had to decide what choice to make that would determine his life.

Bhang Hyunwook had to come up with an answer in that three minutes.

‘Run, Runaway?’

Should he fight for his life, or should he run away to save his life?

All his survival instincts were convincing him to choose the latter. Those who survived had a chance to live their lives.

Even more so, his instinct made him think of his parent's faces and tried to make him accept the decision to run away.

The faces of his parents, ones who had sacrificed everything and went through countless struggles to raise him, a nobody with just a little talent in sports, into a professional baseball player.

Bhang Hyunwook didn’t make any decision right now. No, he couldn’t.

Then Ahn Sunmi, the pretty lady with freckles around her nose, appeared.

“We gotta run!”

She just got her freedom back from the Black Orc’s fear attack and she again used her courage, which she had also shown when the four thieves were beating up Park Jaewoon.

Everyone was trying to get away from the Black Orc, far away and fast, but she approached Bhang Hyunwook to save him, grabbed his left wrist with her right hand–which had the mark of the awakened–and started to run.

Bhang Hyunwook unconsciously followed Ahn Sunmi’s lead and started to run.

“Wa, wait!”

It was right in front of the fire shutter when Bhang Hyunwook let go of Ahn Sunmi’s hand.

It was also a border.

If he followed the escalator up to B1 then he would be able to escape.

But once he runs away, he would never return. The moment he stepped on level B1 Bhang Hyunwook would never set foot on level B2 again.

At the same time, he would not be able to see Kim Taehoon’s face anymore.

Bhang Hyunwook looked at the silent, vicious battle between Kim Taehoon and the Black Orc again.

“We can’t get the Orc down! We have to run away!”

Ahn Sunmi read his mind and yelled.

“FUCK!”

Bhang Hyunwook yelled as well.

Not to Ahn Sunmi, but to himself.

“Seriously fuck……”

The desire to survive.

Bhang Hyunwook wouldn’t want to die, right?

He’d like to live and see his parents again and even wanted to take care of his parents in this unpredictable world.

Not only that, there were tons of things he wanted to do in his life.

He had played baseball all through his school years with the desire to be a professional baseball player, and he was accepted to go to a university with a baseball scholarship. He wanted to live the campus life and later drive sports cars when he became a pro-baseball player.

But that did not erase the fact that Kim Taehoon had saved his life.

His father always told Bhang Hyunwook.

Don’t live as a coward.

At that moment, Bhang Hyunwook had a flashback of Kim Taehoon saving him.

The tricks he had used with spray paint to make the monster go blind, how he strangled one of them with a fishing line and poisoned it with engine oil!

Bhang Hyunwook suddenly had a bright idea.

“Cooking oil, cooking oil!”

“What?”

“We need cooking oil!”

In the eyes of Bhang Hyunwook who screamed for cooking oils, all signs of running away had vanished.

“We have to run away!”

When Ahn Sunmi took Bhang Hyunwook’s wrist and rushed to the escalator that leads up to level B1, Kim Taehoon only clenched his teeth a little bit harder.

It felt like the one thing he had put his hopes had disappeared like a mirage.

But he did not blame them.

‘If you are going to run, run away well. Properly’

A person lives to live.

Bhang Hyunwook’s decision was obviously to live. Kim Taehoon did not have the right to judge that. He had also made numerous horrible decisions just to be alive.

‘If you can only make the chance to run, take the chance to run…’

Kim Taehoon knew better than anyone else that blaming someone was not going to help him at this moment.

The path to survival did not appear by blaming someone.

But the situation was getting worse by the minute.

‘I have to find a solution before I tire out.’

The Black Orc started to make a small noise out of its mouth.

The goblin and the other orc he had encountered before were just atrocious.

Their instincts were paralyzed by their hunger.

That’s why the small goblins were attacking the humans who were much bigger than them.

But the Black Orc was different.

It wasn’t just an idiotic, instinct-following destroyer, but was a hunter.

It wouldn’t be just this one though.

‘A world that is overflowing with these monsters…’

This one was just the start.

There would be countless monsters that were much more powerful and smarter than the black orc. Ones even with more terrifying abilities.

Therefore Kim Taehoon was sure.

‘There will be a need for a good hunter to hunt these guys. Not one hunter but a lot of them, a pack of hunters…’

Human’s would need more than just weapons to survive in this era of monsters.

Hunters would be needed who had the knowledge, ability, and experience.

Of course, he had to think about that later, after he survived.

He shifted the focus of his thoughts.

He focused on the present, not the future.

‘Maybe if I pulled this guy towards me and not away it might create a gap…’

He tried to find a way to live.

But suddenly.

BAM!

The burst of sound broke the silence of the battle.

‘That is…?’

A giant container flew from somewhere and hit the Black Orc in the head.

‘Cooking oil?’

Yellow container, it was a commercial sized 18 Liter cooking oil container.

“Sir!”

He could hear Bhang Hyunwook’s voice over the cheerful sound of the can hitting the orc’s head.

“You’ve seen Home Alone right?”

He didn’t need any further explanation. Kim Taehoon immediately changed the image in his head.

He reversed the direction of the chains that were still wrapped around the Black Orc’s neck and pulled the Black Orc towards himself.

At the same time, Kim Taehoon also wrapped himself with imaginary chains and pulled them to the right side.

Thud, thud, thud, thud!

With the sudden change, the Black Orc’s body rushed towards Kim Taehoon with enormous speed.

Swish!

Kim Taehoon’s body, that was flying towards the right side as if he had been hit by a car, barely dodged the charged of the Black Orc.

KWAAAA!

The Black Orc was finally able to open its mouth and screamed as it continued its charge. It only stopped after it had knocked five aisles over.

Krrrrr!

The Black Orc tracked Kim Taehoon with its eyes to fix his position. It could see Kim Taehoon was running towards Bahng Hyunwook and Ahn Sunmi.

There wasn’t any hesitation.

Kwaaa!

The Black Orc screamed again and started to rush at him again.

Meanwhile, Kim Taehoon yelled towards Bhang Hyunwook and Ahn Sunmi.
“Go up!”

“Oil! Be careful of the cooking oil!”

As soon as Bhang Hyunwook’s warning came out, Kim Taehoon slid across the floor flooded with cooking oil.

At the same time, Kim Taehoon reached his hands towards the ceiling.

Like Spiderman shoots out his webs—the hero of the Marvel comics—Kim Taehoon used his telekinetic ability to make an invisible rope between his arm and the ceiling.

Kim Taehoon stopped slipping thanks to the rope and yelled to Bhang Hyunwook and Ahn Sunmi as they stared at him with surprised eyes.

“Go!”

“That’s a killer power…..”

“Go!”

Kim Taehoon yelled again to Bhang Hyunwook who was making unnecessary comments.

“Huh? What about you?”

Instead of answering the question, Kim Taehoon looked at the Black Orc who had almost reached them.

He reached out his hand towards the Orc.

And visualized a picture in his head.

A picture where thick chains wrapped around the Black Orc’s legs.

And waited.

Until the moment the Orc stepped on the oiled floor.

BAM!

The Black Orc slipped and fell on the floor and Kim Taehoon pulled its legs towards the opposite end of the floor.

Bam, Bam, Bang!

The Black Orc was jerked down the aisle all the way back to a point where it couldn’t see Kim Taehoon and the others.

Kwa? Kwa? Kwaaa?

The Black Orc made a confused sound at the unexpected situation as Kim Taehoon stepped on the escalator and started to run.

Bhang Hyunwook and Ahn Sunmi followed Kim Taehoon.

They quickly reached level B1 and Bhang Hyunwook asked a question the moment they were about to reach the ground floor.

“We’re going to run right?”

It was more like begging than an actual question.

Please, can we run away, like now?

KWAAAA!

The Black Orc’s scream shook the escalator.

Bhang Hyunwook gave a desperate stare after hearing that sound.

But Kim Taehoon’s eyes were pointed at Ahn Sunmi, not Bhang Hyunwook.

“Do you have a license?

“Do you?”

He suddenly questioned.

“I, I do.” Ahn Sunmi replied.

“We’re going to steal a car outside.” Kim Taehoon ordered.
