The Arcane Archer 19 Passing Day

I asked him to get whatever he wanted me to enchant for him. The limits I set to what he wanted to be enchanted was that it could be held in one hand in that the enchantment that I was going to put on it would be a very basic one.

He thought about it for a minute before quickly leaving and returning with a kitchen knife.

"Would it be possible for you to enchant this to stay clean?" He asked excitedly

I took it from him and made it look like I had to look at every little detail to see if I could do it or not. After a solid minute of messing around, I finally nodded my head and watched as he bounced up and down.

Taking a seat in a nearby chair, I put the knife on the table adjacent from me and reached my hand out till it was about an inch away from the knife. After that, I start creating circles made from mana before writing in the ancient language for it to slowly take the mana of the holder to constantly sharpen, clean, and repair itself.

The etching process took only a couple of seconds, I finished up etching the writing into the mana circle on the knife and finally put the enchantment onto the blade by forcing the circle onto it. Once this was done, the circle became invisible and everything seemed normal.

Picking up the knife, is started to slowly take a bit of my mana and started to do all three of the things I enchanted onto it.

"Here you go Eric." I said while holding out the knife to him, "This should cover the costs, right?"

"Yes! It covers the costs for everything!"

He grabbed it like a child holding a new toy that they begged their parents to get for them. After jumping around once again (Very dangerously I might add), he finally ran off to who knows where to probably show it to someone like a kid would do.

After he left, it was just me left in the inn as everyone else was doing something. The 3 adventurers were hunting to get some money, the townsfolk were fixing things, and the inn keeper was being a kid.

But now that I had some alone time and because I recently enchanted something, I finally realized how stupid I was being till now.

Pulling out all my regular gear, I started the very fun process of enchanting everything while stopping here and there when I ran out of mana. After everything was done, I used my rarely used skill {Inspect} to look at everything.

While this may not seem like much, it's also important to remember that if you enchant something to much and give it the strongest enchantments possible, it could break from overloading from the mana required to do such a thing. Which is why for my regular arrows, I did the basic arrow enchanting and made sure to keep 5 in my inventory to surprise the enemy if needed as I didn't want to risk anything.

With that out of the way and be now being slightly more capable then before, I went outside the inn and looked for a place to sell some things to gain some coin. Constantly enchanting things to get things for free would be a horrible idea as enchanting is classified as an ancient magic and very very rare. Anything I do will catch attention if I do it too much.

After a quick look I did find someplace I could sell all my extra leather and meat from hunting. The person inside complained a bit about some of my dismantling work but still bought everything I was selling, nevertheless.

In total, I got 20 silver pieces and 143 copper pieces. I also found out that the money goes like this.

Copper -> Silver -> Electrum -> Gold -> Platinum

10 copper makes 1 silver, 5 silver makes an electrum, 10 silver or 2 electrum makes a gold, and 10 gold make a platinum piece. (A/N- For those wondering, yes, this is D&D currency.)

They also mentioned that they couldn't give me any gold or electrum pieces as they didn't have any and that I took all their silver, so they had to pay the rest in copper. I was completely fine with this as it would make it easier to spend later.

With that done, I went shopping for some more arrows which they said was 1 gold piece. I thought it was a bit expensive, but it was probably because I was basing it off Earth's price for arrows instead of here.

Paying the person 10 silver, I stuffed them into my quiver that was only half full because of me constantly using and storing arrows.

For the rest of the day afterwards, I was just helping the townsfolk with rebuilding and just relaxing at times I wasn't. Soon night came and I rushed back to the inn to get some dinner and see if everyone has returned yet.

I could obviously tell he answer was true as before I even opened the door to the inn, I heard 3 people talking and the smell of food cooking. Walking in, the 3 adventurers noticed and started cheering and holding up their drinks.

They attempted to say some stuff and Pyra even attempted to walk over to me but they must've all been drunk as everything they did seemed very slurred and dulled.

"How much did they drink?" I screamed at the back

"As much as they could get with their money after buying 2 rooms." He screamed back, still cooking whatever.

I went to go sit at another table across from them, but they tried convincing me to move over to them and join them but once seeing that I wasn't they decided to move over to me. This kept on for about 3 minutes of just constantly getting up and moving until I got annoyed enough that I attempted to cast a spell to remove the alcohol in their system.

Sadly, basic magic couldn't do that as it required precise control and more than just the knowledge of the ancient words to perform the System says. Groaning in annoyance, I instead decided to use magic to make them fall asleep.

They all fell onto the floor in a pile as they all started to snore their problems away. At that time, Eric came out from the back with food in each hand and his newly enchanted knife in a brand-new knife pouch.

"Magic?" He asked upon seeing them in a pile.

"Yup." I said while indicating him to bring their food to me.

Setting it down, he then left to do whatever he needed to in the back and I started digging into the food. Eating as much as I could, I then stuffed the rest that I couldn't eat into my inventory before picking the 3 up and bringing them to their rooms.

Even though the spell should've already worn off, they were still asleep which meant that they were already tried to begin with.

Heading to my room, I laid down in bed while once again attempting to understand the bullshit that the one book was. After 10 minutes of stupidity, I once again gave up and pulled out the book from the elves. Inside was a whole bunch of elven poems so without even reading the first one I threw it back into my inventory and decided to just go to sleep.

The night then passed quickly as I eventually used my magic to help me fall asleep after laying down in bed for an hour with sleep not coming to me.

Once I was awake, I grudgingly got out of bed, got into a cheap set of clothing from the System (5 System Points), and made my way to the main part of the inn to get some food. There sitting down were the 3 who seemed to be trying to get over a bad hangover.

I didn't even attempt to fix it as watching their responses to everything was hilarious, including the cleric's who kept asking his god for divine intervention from it and such. Eventually Pyra who seemed to be able to think the best (At the moment), asked me if I would accept their offer or not.

Completely forgetting about it, I blurted out, "Yes?" as I was still in a daze from waking up recently.

Pyra just said a simple "Good." Before laying her head on the table.

I internally groaned but just accepted it as it wasn't that bad of a deal and it would give me something to do. Ordering some food and water for the entire table (Just the water, I'm cheap), everyone started making some light talk as we waited for the food.
