A few minutes ago….

"What are we still waiting for?!! Edwinson Lord!!" 

Edwinson Lord looked at Lisa's grandfather. He was having a headache dealing with these two people.

"Lorenz Lord, there is nothing to discuss...I have already made my stance clear that I am not willing to break Max and Lisa's engagement….I would appreciate it if you drop this matter here…" 

"Don't be in such a hurry, old friend. Think carefully, nothing good will come if you make a connection with the Walker family. They are the Head of the Mage Association….your family's status as a Neutral House will be in trouble. You should reconsider your decision…" Lorenz Lord said with a smile.

When his words fell on the other two people's ears, their faces turned ugly. The engagement between Max and Lisa was not a political one...but because of love. But to say that it won't have any political implication would be a lie.

It would cause an imbalance and would surely cause quite a bit of trouble. But they were willing to face it….not to mention it wasn't like there wouldn't be any benefit.

But Max's grandfather knew that if he formed a relationship with Lorenz instead of Walkers, it would be more beneficial. After all, even though Lorenz House was on the Association's side, they were not the head. Not to mention they were very inactive and Lorenz Lord was respected by all the other Lords….

As for the Walkers, they were the head of the Mage Association….you couldn't just say that we don't have anything to do with the Mage Association when your daughter-in-law is the Mage King's daughter.

"You aren't having some weird thoughts are you old man?" Lisa's grandfather glared at him.

"Cough! Obviously not! There is no point in this conversation, Lorenz Lord." Edwinson Lord coughed awkwardly before further continuing, "Besides, have you asked your Granddaughter about it? Does she know you are here planning to get her married to a person who has already been engaged to someone else?"

"You might be a hero for the world, but I bet your granddaughter sees you as a villain." Lisa's grandfather mocked him. It was really hard to believe that until a few hours ago, the two were actually best friends…

"My granddaughter's opinion matters the most. This is the right thing for her….if you think I am wrong, then let me show you.." Lorenz Lord took out his phone and called Elly before putting the phone on speaker.

"Hello..." Elly's voice sounded through the other end and it was quickly followed by a few others.

"Elly, no phones...you need to complete the game first…"

"Yeah, hang it…" 

Hearing Lisa's voice, her Grandfather's face twitched. He had sent her to be with Max and control him and the girl was playing games with her rival.

But when the old man remembered that Lisa was the one who was pushing Elly and Max together, his expression became complicated. How could he blame others when his own child was rotten?

"Elly, I need to discuss something important. Can you find a quiet place?'' The old man asked.

A minute later…

"Yes, Grandfather…." Elly said as she was ready to talk.

"I have got a marriage proposal for you…" the old man lied.

The other two gave him a ridiculous look. This b*stard was lying to his own granddaughter. When did they ask him anything, it was him barging here to steal someone else's fiance for her granddaughter.

"Marriage?" Elly's voice was heard from the other end. It wasn't like what the other two had expected. She didn't ask the question in surprise or shock but just to confirm she heard it right…

"Yes, your marriage. I like the guy. I think he is a good match for you. But there is a bit of a problem, it seems he already has someone. You might have to be the second partner…." 

"Second partner?" Her voice once again was heard with the same tone.

Lorenz Lord sighed. Even he wanted the girl to speak out...refuse and yet….

Even the other two exchanged a look. They could see that something was wrong with this Grandfather and Granddaughter pair...

"Do you understand the situation?" The old man asked.

"Umn...I get it…"

"If it's your decision. I will follow it…" Elly replied.

"Don't worry, your grandfather will definitely try to give you a single guy…" the old man said but his words didn't sound good at all. He sounded like a rascal.

After that, he hung up and looked at them.

"You better hand him over when I am still asking politely….you know I don't have to ask when he is already in my hands…"

His words really made the other two doubt their eyes. Was this thug really Garry Lorenz?

"It's enough….I have still been holding back thinking of you as a friend….but if you keep continuing it, I will not show any mercy…" Lisa's grandfather had enough of it. His aura began to rise.

"You can find several others for your granddaughter….but it's not possible for me." The old man suddenly stood up and bowed to Lisa's grandfather. All his behavior from earlier was gone. At his core, he was still the same person. He didn't want of fight his friend...

Edwinson Lord sighed. It was still fine if they fought. But this was not something he was willing to see…

Lorenz Lord wasn't called a hero for no reason. The old man had sacrificed too much for the people....not only him but actually his whole family....

But that didn't mean that Edwinson Lord could break Lisa's heart for that….

"Don't bow down to me. Raise your fist and fight…" Lisa's grandfather frowned. He didn't want to see this happening.

"You love your granddaughter. I get it but do you think I love my granddaughter any less than you do yours…" Lisa's grandfather took in his aura and spoke with a sigh when he saw that the old man wasn't raising his head up.

Lorenz Lord looked at him. He wasn't willing to give it up. 

"I am willing to take your granddaughter for my grandson if you back out of this….You know my grandson, Kain is one of the most talented in this generation. He even fancies your granddaughter and will definitely keep her happy…" Lisa's grandfather said with a deep look.

Lorenz was his friend, if possible, he was really willing to help him….but he couldn't possibly do it at the cost of Lisa's happiness…

Edwinson Lord was surprised at the sudden change of events and looked at Lorenz Lord.

When Lisa's grandfather saw the unwilling look in his eyes, he sighed. It seemed there wasn't an option…..he knew that the old man will understand his position if he told him about it...

"Max and Lisa had already crossed the point where it can't be undone anymore….this marriage can not be broken at any cost…" He was ashamed. But seeing that they might not find any other way out, he had to let out the secret.

These people were someone he could trust. He believed that they wouldn't do anything unnecessary with the news….not to mention...Max and Lisa were already engaged….even if they did something, there was nothing wrong...the kids had already received their families' blessing….

'There is nothing wrong with it...' Lisa's grandfather convinced himself.

Edwinson Lord's eyes widened when he heard that. He finally understood why this old man was so adamant to announce their engagement to the works by the next year…

'That brat!!!!'

Max wasn't aware that his image was falling at a rapid rate in his grandfather's eyes.

But in the end, the old man just shook his head. The rice was cooked….there was no going back now…. Not to mention he didn't have plan to break the engagement from the very start.

Lorenz Lord looked at Lisa's grandfather with wide eyes as well. He finally understood why the old man was so desperate. He could understand his situation.

He finally sighed. Even he wasn't willing to destroy Lisa's life...she was his best friend's granddaughter after all….

Even if he couldn't find anyone for Elly, he would still try to give her all the happiness he could. It was not like her life would be over if she didn't marry, not to mention there might be someone else in the future who Elly may fancy.

"I see….in that case, I won't make it difficult for you…" the old man said as he patted his beat friend's shoulder.

Lisa's grandfather could clearly see the sadness in his eyes. 

He felt guilty!

Extremely guilty!!

He hid the fact that her own granddaughter was pushing Elly towards Max….it was possible that her perverted granddaughter had messed up Elly's mind….even poor Max might have been affected by her....

As the Lorenz Lord was about to leave, Sirius arrived.

"My Lord, I have collected everything you have asked for…."

The other two people immediately looked at Lorenz Lord. They remembered that he was waiting for him. They were afraid that he would start something again.

But the old man just waved his hand, "It's useless now….we are going back…"

"My Lord, you may as well have a look….it isn't something you can just ignore…" Sirius had crossed his boundary as a junior but the old man didn't mind at all.

He just gave Sirus an odd look as Sirius showed him a picture of what looked like Elly healing Max.

The old man stood there looking at the picture. The girl was using her powers for a guy who had a little cut on his arms….she had exposed her powers….she was always afraid of her powers but now was willing to use it on a guy in order to heal a small cut….

It was clear that the relationship between the two was more than what he had initially thought about. 

He didn't know that Elly had overcome her fear for Aria and now started to take steps to overcome her trauma after receiving the old. Spirit's advice…

He really wanted to punch Max for two timing. But he couldn't, Elly had exposed her power in front of him. There was a possibility that someone might have seen her. If she really planned to use her powers from now, then this was troublesome....she might be in danger....the Ancient families.....

He had to get the boy….even if he cared about Lisa, it couldn't be more than Elly.....it was not just that simple.....now...it was about Elly's safety as well..

The old man sighed as he helplessly turned around.

It was time for a second round of debate…

It seemed he would have a fall out with Walker Family today....
