Chapter 1

It was cold.

Lu Chen's mind and soul was consumed by an endless cold.

The cold didn't come from outside but within his very own body, as if an ice storm was raging inside of him, constantly freezing him from the inside.

Other than the cold, there were also cries of agony resounding inside Lu Chen's mind.

These cries were driving him crazy. Lu Chen only felt a throbbing pain in his head, making him want to bang his head against the walls.

Sadly, the cold rendered his body completely immobile.

The only thing he could do was lie painfully on his bed and brace himself.

Damn it, what the heck is happening. If this goes on, I'll die!

As a modern youth of the 21st century, Lu Chen was dumbfounded by his condition. He didn't know why he was experiencing this kind of torment.

They didn't converse much, but their words were filled with worry. However, Lu Chen didn't have the extra energy to care so much anymore. His own condition was far more pressing in his mind.

Just not long after the conversation, a dry finger pried open Lu Chen's lips and poured a bowl of weird-tasting hot soup into his mouth.

The hot soup didn't taste bad, it just tasted weird.

The hot soup was poured into his mouth, through his throat, and finally into his stomach. Then, a warm sensation started to rise in him, slowly flowing into every corner of Lu Chen's body.

With the help of the hot soup, the cold that Lu Chen was feeling started to subside a little bit.

And with the improvement in his condition, the cries in Lu Chen's mind also started to fade away.

Just like that, the warm sensation from the hot soup continued flowing into every corner of Lu Chen's body, helping him combat the lingering cold.

As the cold continued to dissipate, the cries in Lu Chen's mind became softer.

Finally, the coldness in Lu Chen's body was cleared away before the last stream of the warmth from the hot soup was neutralized, and with that, the cries in his mind finally stopped.

After some time, when everything was stabilized, a cold, robotic voice abruptly blared inside of Lu Chen's mind.

But Lu Chen didn't have the energy to look into the matter anymore.

The war between the hot stream and coldness, and the cacophony of the mad cries in his mind… it all took a huge toll on him.

Once all of it passed, Lu Chen fell into a deep sleep right almost immediately.

That night, he certainly didn't sleep well. To the others, they could clearly see that Lu Chen was randomly waving his hands in the air and twitching his body like he was stuck in a terrible nightmare.

The truth was that Lu Chen was really having a dream. But it was really hard to tell whether if it was a bad one.

In the dream, Lu Chen had turned from a modern youth of the 21st century into a young man of a barbarian tribe—Chen.

In the dream, Lu Chen lived and experienced the 15 years of Chen's life as well as the horrible scene that Chen last saw!

Lu Chen slept through the whole night, only waking up the on second day when the sun was high up in the middle of the sky.

After he woke up, Lu Chen sat for a long time on his bed before coming back to his senses.

From the memories, I've transmigrated from Earth to this barbarian tribe. But, this world, it's not a normal world.

To be honest, transmigrating to the barbarian tribe didn't really put Lu Chen out of sorts at all.

He struggled to get up from his bed and purely from Chen's memories that he had just acquired, he searched his room. After a few moments, he found a piece of smoked meat and started eating it.

It didn't take long for Lu Chen to finish half of it. Only after that did his hunger subside.

Then, he looked at the remaining half piece of meat he had and let out a wry smile.

How unlucky, this barbarian youth… No, he is me now. I am an orphan in this world. And this is the last piece of food I had in the house. Now, I have to find a way to get more food.

Sigh, this is just like starting a new game in Hell Mode!

A strange world, an orphan, and insufficient food; all of these couldn't stop reminding Lu Chen of what a terrible situation he was in.

Just when Lu Chen was in distress, a frigid, robotic, and yet familiar voice abruptly appeared in his mind.
