Vixen pulled her close, trapping her hands in between his chest and her body.
Regan sobbed harder, her fist tightening and fingernails cutting into her palm, causing it to bleed along with her fist. She buried her head into Vixen's shoulder and tried to block everything away, then raised her head and slammed it into his shoulder when the thoughts didn't go away.
"Stop hitting me," Vixen coaxed, his voice carrying a little chuckle as he pressed his head against her, immobilizing her ways to attack him out of frustration, "it hurts."
"No…" Regan muttered. 'Why… why am I remembering today?' She questioned herself as her entire body quivered and went numb, giving out completely and collapsing on Vixen.
She shifted her head and looked past Vixen's neck to the clock on the wall, '2:10' Regan muttered to herself. It was official now, she had turned 19 while covered in dried blood in her mind and fresh blood running down her wrist and palm as she took refuge in someone she should have never met while she cried. The world she had taken advantage of before was now 6 feet under and forgot to drag her down with it.
Vixen continued to stay with her as her heartbeat that had thumped loudly against his, slowly calmed down. His hand trembled a bit, but he raised it up and patted Regan on the back, so stiffly that his gears could be heard as they creaked. The moment was awfully familiar to him, each pat he gave her reminding him of a memory he had tried to bury down.
Pat, His hand bumped against her back, in a rhythm he remembered.
Pat, Her sobs slowed down, her voice slipping away from his ears as her voice blended into someone else's.
Pat, His hand brushed against her back and then landed again, shrinking to a smaller palm that brushed against the back of a smaller figure, as his memory started to take over.
Pat, "'Vixen, it hurts'" the girl muttered, tightly gripping his shirt. Each sniffle made his heart throb.
Pat, "'Vixen… how do I make it go away?'" the girl sobbed, her voice muffled as she spoke with her head buried in his small shoulders.
Pat, Vixen pulled the girl away and cupped her face in his hand, wiping away some of her tears and staring into her eyes.
Pat, "'it's ok… I'm here,'" Vixen softly reassured the girl, his heart thumping harder in his chest as he stared longer into her bright, teary eyes, trapped by their beauty.
Pat, Vixen's heart thumped harder as he realized how close the girl was to him, his face growing hotter as he wiped away her tears, "'it's ok…'" he sighed, running his finger down her swollen face, ignoring the intense thumping in his heart.
"It's ok…" Vixen muttered, the girl's face slowly shifted into Regan's as he started to fall back into reality.
He wiped away a tear on Regan's face and brushed a strand of hair away from her face, falling deeper into the emerald sea in Regan's eyes. His hands stopped momentarily when he realized that this wasn't his memory anymore, and his heart dropped a bit, but he continued and wiped the last tear off her face. He then cupped her face again, his eyes searching through hers.
"Stop crying gosh damn it," Vixen scolded, squishing her face, "you look even more pathetic."
