Quick Transmigration - Counter Attack Of Various Characters 13 Aftermath

As soon as Su Li reached her room, the system lapsed its control on the effects of the aphrodisiac. She knew it would be a long night. She started feeling very relaxed and in a few minutes she felt her muscle control weakening and felt disoriented and confused. She was cognizant of the fact that it would be a gradual process untill she would reach an almost semi - conscious state therefore before she reached that stage she had to do something quickly and make appropriate arrangements to get through the next few hours. She didn't want anyone to know that she had been drugged. Moreover, asking for help from the household staff would hurt her pride.

She knew she could either sweat it out or take a cold water bath. Therefore, she decided to do some light exercise till she had some semblance of muscle control and then ready herself for a long bath. The only thing was that she hoped she wouldn't get a fever afterwards. By the time she was half way done with the bath she knew her reaction was extreme since she had started feeling genital pain as well. With her mind foggy and experiencing acute pain she somehow passed the night. It was even worse than her last few days in the hospital. This made her realise that she couldn't just be passive in all of these task worlds. Although this wasn't her original world, the pain and torture Yu Yue's body went through because of this ordeal was also felt by her. Even if she was just a foreign soul occupying someone else's body the pain was too real and she shouldn't just take a lax attitude towards everything occuring around her.

Also, she didn't want to form any attachments in any world to any person. Since she would still live on while the other person would die in a few decades, she couldn't share her worries with anyone so she will have to confront everything on her own and for that she should take care of her own well being. She made up her mind that from now onwards if the play was injurious to her health then she wouldn't play her part accordingly and just smash the pot. Afterall, she had already suffered enough for a lifetime before her death and didn't want to stake her health in any form for a win. This long pain filled night turned her indifference towards Yu Yan to a vague kind of disgust and contempt. Both of them were girls in their late teens but the other person's way of dealing with things was too cruel.

She remembered in the original plot Yu Yue had fallen to this scheme and though Yu Jian had tried to do everything in his power to sweep the incident under the rug, it had still spread to the rest of the aristocratic families. Afterwards, the murmurs of gossip were barely concealed whispers which had led to Yu Yue's low self - esteem.

She vowed to herself that she would teach Yu Yan not to over - do things. Though she couldn't harden her heart to get an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, she would still atleast rip off a layer of her skin.

The next morning, Yu Yan saw father and Yu Yue seated at the table in the dinning room. Father was reading a finance newspaper and having breakfast whereas her sister was just enjoying a cup of coffee. It looked like Yu Yue was taking a day off from her college since

normally she was finished and on her way to college before she herself made it downstairs for breakfast. She had deep black circles underneath her eyes and looked exhausted but Yu Yan felt more exhausted than her in her heart. She hadn't slept and had been on pins and needles the entire night. She was sure something must have happened but it looked as if everyone was trying to cover it up with a facade of daily routine.

After breakfast Zixi dropped her off to school. She had asked him if he something had happened back home since there was a curious silence at the breakfast table. He told her that some guy had tried to accost the eldest miss when she had gone out of the ballroom last evening but was seen by the master. As soon as she heard his reply she could feel her heart thumping at a fast rate but she couldn't show her anxiety to this person since she wasn't sure about his allegiance until now. Therefore, she forrowed her brows and asked how could someone disrespect a family member in the main residence. He looked at her eyes for a brief second and it was as if all her thoughts were transparent in front of this person. But when she looked again he was facing forward and she felt it must have been an illusion or a trick of the light. Ultimately, he was under her charge right now so even if he had some doubts regarding her, he couldn't inform father because he had been fobbed off onto her since her first day. No one would believe that he had been in the dark about any of her machinations. He informed her the guy was one of her personal invites and was named Yuanzhi. She faked an angry expression at this information and implored him to believe that she hadn't known that he would have such a despicable character and that she would go to father and elder sister and ask for a punishment. He told her that none of them blamed her for what had happened. Afterall, who would plan something so despicable for their own sister and smiled at her. She was also informed that the master had been so angered that he had thrown that guy unceremoniously out of the estate but before that all the ten fingers of his hands has been broken.

The rest of Yu Yan's day passed in indecision and restlessness. She could either go to her father and enact a remorseful act and ask for punishment. This would show that even though she was blameless she still had the tact to take responsibility for any accident that had happened due to her own willfulness of inviting an unrelated person to the party. Also, she could admit that she was apologetic about not listening to Yu Yue's earlier advice of arranging the birthday party outside.

The other option she had was to act as if she was ignorant of the happenings of last night. When all was said and done, something this momentous had happened(though from Zixi's account nothing major had happened except the girl being accosted by an unfamiliar male) but neither father nor her elder sister had seen it fit to talk about it with her. She had only asked Zixi because she had been the master mind but from their point of view she was oblivious to it all and Zixi wouldn't get a chance to raise suspicions regarding her on his own accord.

In the office it was as if Yu Jian had been irked by something and was taking out his frustrations on his employees. First thing in the morning, he had ordered his secretary to compile all the information regarding their business rivals and see if they had made any movements in the dark or if there was some recent clash between themselves and some one else. Then he had called all the upper level employees in the company who had the power to shake things and laid into them for even the smallest of the infractions they had made in the last half an year. Later on, he informed everyone of his decision to increase their speed on any kind of existing projects that were under them. He wanted all the information about the recent work they had done on his table before the end of the evening and told everyone that nobody was allowed to leave the office until everything was compiled, brought to his notice and thoroughly cross checked by him. Everyone was baffled by his strict demeanor and hoped that they were not the fish on the chopping board.

In the residence, all the household staff was questioned regarding their whereabouts for the last few days by Xun Zixi and anyone who had any kind of unexplained absence was let off without any questions. The servants felt it was unfathomable since Zixi was given to Miss Yan until further notice but this action of questioning and terminating contracts was the power only the close aide of the next heir could exercise. Some thought that the eldest miss's position wasn't safe whereas others had an errant thought that may be it looked like Zixi was Miss Yan's assistant but in reality was under the eldest miss. At any rate, they just had to make sure not to over - step their boundaries and everything else was not their concern. All of them knew that no matter if it was an internal fight or an external one, they were just akin to ants who could only try their best to save their own necks during a fight between giants.

Neither Yu Yue nor Yu Yan knew that their respective actions had caused such a big stir in the residence as well as the company.

Su Li rested in her room the whole day. Last night's trouble had seeped all of her energy and she felt too lethargic to even move about whereas Yu Yan unaware of the movements made by her father and Zixi called her father over the phone and asked him when he would be returning back home as she had something important to discuss with him. He told her that he wouldn't be coming back home tonight and not to wait for him. He asked her what was the matter but she was adamant that it wasn't something that could be talked over the phone and she would tell him everything next day face - to - face.
