My Princess Has Been Reborn Chapter 22.6

Chapter 22.6 – Cat, Fish and a Bowl of Soup (6)

Just an hour after the incident, everything that had happened in the Lu Mansion was presented to Her Royal Highness The Princess.

Qi Yang was so surprised that she knocked over her tea cup. The clear tea spilled on top of the plans and muddied the ink.

Zhi Ting hurriedly went to clean up when she saw it, but before she could clean up the writing table, she saw that Her Royal Highness The Princess's look had turned very ugly. Only she saw that gloomy appearance that made her worry so much, so she asked carefully, “Your Highness, are you alright?”

Qi Yang was not alright at all, and she almost crushed the letter in her hand. When she heard those words, she lifted her face, her gaze turning very sharp. “Change clothes, we're leaving the palace!”

After saying that short sentence, Qi Yang flicked her sleeves and left, not waiting for Zhi Ting's reaction.

Her Royal Highness The Princess moved in an imposing manner, but her face didn't look well. She frightened all the maids she ran into; they all bowed their heads down and didn't dare to look at her anymore. But if someone had gathered the courage to look up right now, they would find that under her gloomy expression, the little princess's face was pale. Her thin lips were pursed tightly, and even her hands hidden under her sleeves were shaking uncontrollably – although she seemed to be furious, she was clearly even more scared and frightened that she couldn't even restrain herself.

When she walked back to her sleeping chambers, Qi Yang's wildly beating heart finally calmed down a little bit. She tried her best to calm herself down. Looking at the sun outside, she knew that the time was still too early. Even if she left the palace now, she wouldn't be able to see Lu Qipei, but she still couldn't help it. She wouldn't be able to feel at ease without seeing her.

After thinking for a while, she changed her clothes and left the palace early.

The carriage kicked off and left the Imperial City, but unlike yesterday, it did not stop outside Hanlin Academy to wait for Lu Qipei to get off work. Qi Yang only ordered the coachman to drive around outside Hanlin Academy, looked at the government office with the open door in the middle, and left again.

It was still too early and she couldn't see anyone, and she had no intention of waiting here. Plus, since Lu Qipei could still come to work today, she must had only been slightly frightened, but had not been harmed…

Qi Yang calmed down and convinced herself by thinking that way. But thinking of the news that Lu Qipei had lost her calm earlier, her heart couldn't help but ache. At the same time, her hatred for Lu Qicheng was reignited.

She had never been a magnanimous person – she had always been domineering and protective to the bone. And being reborn did not mean that her past gratitudes and resentments were written off. Qi Yang remembered everything in her heart, but because Lu Qipei, she didn't kill Lu Qicheng.

But now, it seemed that her soft-heartedness back then was unnecessary. Besides, making Lu Qipei sad was still better compared to putting her in danger!

Right now, Qi Yang didn't know that what remained of Lu Qipei's sibling affection towards Lu Qicheng had been completely eliminated in the last few days. No one would be able to maintain their original feelings in the face of multiple malicious attempts, even if they were someone naturally broad-hearted like Lu Qipei.

If one day she was forced to a desperate situation, perhaps even without Qi Yang taking action, Lu Qipei would end the threat herself!

But right now, Lu Qipei had not hardened her heart yet, but Qi Yang already made up her mind.

The carriage drove away from Hanlin Academy slowly, as if it was just passing by. But it wasn't until Hanlin Academy's government office disappeared that Qi Yang put down the carriage's curtain.

Someone by the roadside happened to raise his head and caught a glimpse of the delicate side features of the girl inside the carriage, which was soon blocked by the lowered curtain.

Qi Yang sat inside the carriage with her eyes closed. After a long time, she seemed to think of something and suddenly opened her eyes. She said, “Have someone stand guard outside Hanlin Academy. If that person leaves ahead of time, follow her. Don't let her run away again.”

There was no one else inside the carriage. Qi Yang didn't even bring Zhi Ting when she came out these last couple of times, and there was only the coachman outside the carriage. But as soon as that command was spoken, a voice appeared out of nowhere. It acknowledged in a low voice that seemed like an illusion.

Qi Yang felt relieved when she heard it, and closed her eyes again. She was really afraid that Lu Qipei would run away again at the drop of a hat!
