Mu Jianyu tarried outside his wife's office, trying to figure out how this sudden change will affect him. Was this Li Xiuying's retaliation against him for his attempt to divorce her? However, he'd already planned ahead to leave the company in a mess caused by this plagiarism issue but didn't expect that the Li family would send his own wife to deal with it. 

Secretary Jiang urged him to get in the room to talk to the reinstated CEO. Li Xiuying had already spent a good time waiting for him to come at her. As the previous OIC, he was expected to turnover the reports and company data for the past months for Li Xiuying to read. 

As he entered Ying's office, for the first time in three years, he was reminded yet again of the fact that the Li Corp was built with class and integrity that screams money and wealth everywhere you look. 

From where he was standing, the view from Ying's office was exceptionally bright and beautiful. He watched as his wife rose from her seat to greet him. Her slender figure and beautiful face complimented the scenery behind her. 

He could feel his breath hitched, his heart skipped a beat when his eyes landed on her. Mu Jianyu had always known that his wife was exceptionally beautiful, and perfect in every way, but seeing her like this, reminded him of their first encounter. 

He silently clenched his hand on his side. This was it, he reminded himself, this was the reason he'd rather give his heart to his new lover. She was so perfect that it always made him feel small. He was less than a man beside her, in contrast to his new sweet little lover. He tried to deny the fact that deep down inside, a part of him didn't want to give up Li Xiuying yet. 

"You do not seem happy to see me. Jianyu, are you mad?" 

When her husband didn't respond, she continued. 

"I'm sorry. I was also caught up with this. It's not that Grandpa lost his faith in you but it was me who'd disappointed him all this time." She lowered her head and looked away. 

Li Xiuying looked weak and vulnerable and it pained Mu Jianyu's heart seeing her like this, which frustrated him. He couldn't understand what he was feeling at the moment. Had he really forgotten about the love that he had for his wife? 

"It's not that I don't want to see, I'm just worried that you'll get sick again." 

Perhaps his words were so ridiculous that Li Xiuying'e eyes flashed with a glint of amusement. 

Oh now, he cared about her welfare? What changed? For the past weeks, he'd treated her with disdain and refused to meet her gaze when they were talking. 

Such a typical hypocrite. Li Xiuying chuckled inwardly. She seemed to think that his guarded expression was quite interesting and wondered how strong his resolve was to divorce her. 

She gave him a shallow smile. 

"I'll be busy these days. I'll appreciate it if you could do a detailed data analysis of our brand and products and the status of our production line." She suddenly said, confusing her husband. 

Mu Jianyu had an impression that the Li family would slowly and surely remove him from the company, yet his wife's actions were the opposite of what he was expecting. She wanted him to still be involved even though she had stripped him of the authority to run the company. They weren't going to give him a way out on this. 

His jaws hardened. What was she playing now?

"Ying, this isn't my responsibility," he told her impassively. "This is under the Sales and Ru0026D department." 

Li Xiuying tilted her head to face him before cupping her chin on one hand. 

"Oh? So do you mean to say that it's my job?" She questioned him back. "You were the OIC and our trusted CTO. I trust that you're more familiar with what was happening here more than anyone else. Please don't make this hard for me."

The slight twitch on her husband's lips told Li Xiuying that she succeeded in poking his inflated ego. Her words were meant to make him realize who the boss was and Mu Jianyu could only accept whatever tasks she assigned him. 

They may be husband and wife but she was still his superior. His position was below her and she was the boss here. 

"I understand. Just let me know if there's anything else you need."

Mu Jianyu wanted to ask her about their impending divorce but Li Xiuying already turned her back on him and started working. She turned back to her desk and leaned forward, flipping the pages of the document on her hand. 

Her focused state left her husband in a daze. He didn't know why but Mu Jianyu thought she was quite charming like this. 

Noticing that her husband hadn't left her office, Li Xiuying looked at him and smiled. 

"Is there something you need to tell me?" She asked, daring Mu Jianyu to voice out their divorce. 

He shook his head and turned to leave. He was disappointed and frustrated at the same time. What the hell was wrong with him? Didn't he already choose Lin Meirong over his wife?

Once he left her alone, the corners of Li Xiuying's lips curled up. She had tested his resolve to divorce her and put a seed of doubt in him. She purposely dressed up like she used to, making sure her subtle movement would entrance him, reminding him of her charms. 

She was his wife. How could she not know how to tease her husband and what attracts him. Lin Meirong might be younger and beautiful but Li Xiuying's physical appearance could easily outshine the mistress if she wanted to. Alas, even a beauty like her was no match from a home-wrecker's charm. 

Minutes later, Song Zexi arrived with a tray in her hand. She brought her Miss a cup of warm milk and a few biscuits and sliced fruits for her to eat while she buried herself in paperwork. She knew what her Miss was up to but it wasn't her place to object to Li Xiuying. 

Song Zexi really didn't want her Miss to get back with her husband. It was already insulting enough that the man was too cowardly to confess his affair to his wife. He didn't deserve Li Xiuying at all so why fight for someone not worth fighting for. 

"Miss Ying, please take a break and eat. You haven't eaten anything yet since you woke up this morning," she reminded Li Xiuying. Since Mu Jianyu obviously couldn't take care of his wife, Song Zexi and Su Ling took it upon themselves to look after the welfare of their Miss. 

Was she forgetting that she was pregnant and needed to have proper nourishment and rest? It pained Song Zexi to see her Miss being subjected to this mess. If it wasn't for that scum, Li Xiuying wouldn't have to force herself to work hard like this. 

"Just leave it there, Xiao Xi. I'll finish this first before taking a break." Li Xiuying replied without breaking her taking her eyes off her work, and her pen continued scribbling on the paper. 

Song Zexi wanted to protest but Su Ling who was standing a few feet away from their Miss, shook his head telling her not to insist any further. 

Li Xiuying stayed in her office all day and only took a couple of short breaks when Song Zexi insisted. She really didn't have time to waste as her workload was really heavy.
